instead of using Adams and his QB situation as a comp... you could use Pittman and Minshew. Minshew is not someone who would be considered a top 10 fantasy QB but he was good enough to feed Michael Pittman to a WR18 finish (ppg) on only 136 targets. I view Harrison as more talented than Pittman and I think Murray is better than Minshew. The other comp would be DJ Moore at WR9 with Tyson Fields at QB

Percentage of Draft Budget to RB position

I'd be keeping London and Goff (unless you think you can get a startable QB for $1-$3. I don't know how your other league owners operate. If you can get a Lawrence/Cousins/Tua or get Goff back cheaper then just keep London. Release Jacobs. CMC, Singletary Brown, Waddle, London $14 to spend on QB(Goff back for cheaper?), TE, RB3, depth. Basically, i'd rather have London and $2 less budget than Jacobs. WR>RB in this keeper/dynasty hybrid league and you still have 2 starting backs on your roster, with one of them being a league winner. Also based on your rules, if you are not required to leave the draft with a DST and K, i'm not sure why you would even spend $1 on any. Sounds like they can be picked up for $5 after the draft, which has no impact on your budget, and you wouldn't keep them next season anyway.

Percentage of Draft Budget to RB position

and then i read this and my last post was a waste of time . I do wish people would give all the information up front. First post makes it sound like a startup draft, which is obviously going to get very different advice than what is essentially a keeper league where you may simply be stuck with certain players at their price points because of the lack of draftable players in general. I don't like CMC at $37 but this isn't a true dynasty so might as well keep him. Singletary at $3 is cheap enough. AJ Brown stays at $17. I might let Jacobs go to save the $13. That's about his budget in a redraft but you might be able to turn that into Zack Moss and Dalton Kincaid. It's hard to say one way or another without knowing what players will be in the draft pool. I can't imagine Moss and Kincaid not being kept so.... A little odd that you don't have a QB worth keeping.

Percentage of Draft Budget to RB position

I wasn't really sure how I would answer this until I read 'dynasty' so no. absolutely not. I wouldn't spend big on any of the players you mentioned because I don't see any value there. CMC will have a big year but how long will help you in dynasty? unless you plan to flip him after the season. I'd much rather focus on stacking my WR room with young stars, maybe penciling LaPorta in as my TE, getting a value QB (one of the first to come to mind is actually Dak as someone who will get overlooked because he is now older but can put up numbers and will still get you plenty of seasons). As for RB, maybe identify one player to be your #1 who is a "value" relative to budget. Jonathan Taylor might be one of the higher priced guys I don't mind a spend on. significantly cheaper than CMC (or Hall or Robinson) still young and locked in. After that I probably don't consider anyone until Pacheco/Etienne as guys with upside who's prices are palatable right now. Otherwise, I wait for Rhamondre/Zamir/Kendre Miller/Rico and for a dynasty, if Chubb's price tag is suppressed due to his injury, he might be worth a stab.

    Marvin Harrison Jr.

It was just a quick comparison. In MHJs case I think Murray is better than what Adams was working with last year. my main point was you don’t have to be a top 10 NFL QB to support a top season for one receiver

    Caitlin Clark debut

i don't consider it alarming. I consider it where it should be, given this once in a lifetime opportunity. If not now, when? They got their great white hope finally going pro. I don't wish them failure but I don't see it being sustainable. I almost think the "beef" between Clark and Reese is just as important.... and I think the league needs about 10 more Clarks and Reeses to sustain any type of financial success. Or to even become profitable.

    Caitlin Clark debut

and maybe it is a fair thing to say. When I said there isn't any evidence to support it, I'm thinking more along the lines of I have not heard any basketball people making that comparison... not that I go out of my way to look for WNBA pundits but I have sports talk on enough and see enough talking heads discussing Clark and the WNBA this year. (which is good for their sport if it keeps up)

yeah, i'm not knocking your opinion or saying it's wrong. I have no clue. Maybe she is a female steve nash. I was just pointing out to Hawkeye that it was your guess and more anecdotal than anything.

    Caitlin Clark debut

I assume Clark is viewed as their best player... as she should be given the hype. So yes, I assume she sees tougher defense. I do know for a fact that Reese is 6'3. I guess that counts as a big for the WNBA even though there are obviously some super tall women playing. I just quickly looked and she leads the league in Rebounding and is really no taller than other players in the top 15-20 in the category. Some being as tall as 6'6" Reese's team is 7-11 and doesn't appear to be very good. She is their 3rd leading scorer and obviously leading rebounder. I would think there would be some defensive game planning toward her.

    2024 Top 10 Wr's

It's hard to view anything in FF as a sure fire, slam dunk. A case could be made for Lamb, Hill, Amon-Ra, JJ, Chase etc as the top WR drafted. Chances are the top one drafted won't be the #1 at seasons end. When drafting in round 1, I think it's best to take an approach of "which player do I feel has the best chance to be top 3-5 at their position at worst?". In some ways, the Cowboys not upgrading can be seen as a good thing for fantasy. We don't care if they win more games in real life. We care more that they didn't add a receiver who is going to command too much more target share than Cooks, for example.

I don't disagree at all. I guess in a sense, if a WNBA player is good enough at grabbing boards from all the missed shots and finishing them off at a good enough clip to average a double double, it has to be somewhat impressive in the context of it being the WNBA. If we compare the WNBA to youth basketball to negate those numbers, does that not make it look even worse that Clark has been fairly unspectacular and certainly not dominant, given her collegiate accolades?

8 draft 3 and still have waivers?

    Caitlin Clark debut

ugh, dude... no offense but his post is littered with "my guess", which he points out. There is no evidence that Clark's playstyle is like Steve Nash in terms of movement / pace / decision making. I had read something maybe a week ago that the Fever GM didn't even view her as a true PG. the second half of it is back to what's been discussed ad nauseam in terms of the turnaround time.... She's like halfway through the regular season now. you think it's a pretty accurate statement because you want it to be and for whatever reason you seem to be very invested in Clark and hold her near and dear.

but you dont really worry about the ratio as much for someone who plays down low, especially when we are talking low numbers in those categories. Shes not running the point, as you discussed. having the ball stripped or losing the handle 1-2 times a game is palatable for any player who you are not asking or expecting to facilitate. NBA example... kid of cherry picking but Jalen Duren is a nice young player on a bad team.. averages like 14-11. 2.4 apg, 2.1 topg Even someone like Gobert, 1.3 apg, 1.6 topg
  21. WhiteWonder

understood. I was very general with that statement but as has already been pointed out, the assist to turnover ratio is key and the guard argument doesn't help Clark when taking that into consideration.

The WNBA is on track to lose 50 million this year

100x? 2023 revenue was 200M.... the expected revenue for 2024 is 240M. Even if there is some unaccounted for Caitlin Clark effect, where are we coming up with 100x revenue? Even if that was just exaggerating for effect, the WNBA wont even 2x it's revenue.
  23. WhiteWonder

    Caitlin Clark debut

the argument can definitely be made. Reese is 13-12-2 Clark is 16-6-7 Clark turns the ball over way more. Similar steals numbers. Clark is a better free throw shooter but Reese is not bad (for the WNBA) and Reese doesn't shoot 3's. If you take away the college hype of Clark, where we wouldn't even have this thread, Reese is probably the slight front runner for ROY.

    2024 Top 10 Wr's

Cute financial jargon aside, what has changed in the Cowboys offense to genuinely anticipate a decline for a player who is young and has previously done nothing but climbed the fantasy rankings? 2020/21 WR24 in PPG 2022 WR8 2023 WR1 25 years old. Targets, receptions, yards and touchdowns have increased every season in the league. Dak is still the QB, the run game is more or less the same with Pollard having been a disappointment last year. The supporting receiver cast is the same as 2023 (Cooks, Ferguson, Tolbert)... Michael Gallup isn't much of a loss. The line wont project to be as good without last years LT and C but still a solid unit. Kind of just boils down to the holdout situation at this point.
