i saw @Jim Mora was looking to trade. I made him an offer but i dont think hes even seen it as it timed out after 10 days. I proposed it again if he sees this.
-
might be revisionist history but I was almost sure a number of us discussed implementing a strategy to wait on QBs and pair RG3 with Peyton. I know that was my QB duo. At the very least I feel like Peyton was a specific target for us as a team.

I am in no matter what because it's very low maintenance. So whatever you guys decide in terms of number of owners and number of draft rounds is fine with me. i dont care if we have all teams owned or enough teams to make waivers viable. I'm in.

oh, I'm not suggesting we would have the same problem, and it was easily squashed in that league anyway. How often do trades actually happen in a regular league. I highly doubt any happen here

*2024 June Mock Draft No-Hassle Analysis*
WhiteWonder replied to Fumbleweed's topic in The Mocking Station
I think we have been in the golden age of wideouts for a few years now. The info/stats are not disputable but I think they can be used to support different strategies. While many people would use this to say load up on WR, I can just as easily see the argument that getting one of those few "stud RBs" in round 1, while risker picks in general, can give you a decent advantage there while sacrificing very little at the WR position since it is so deep, as illustrated above. For shiits and giggles, Let's say you were in my #4 spot and drafted Hall, Adams, Harrison, Diggs (lets say I reach for him because MHJ is a rookie and I want another vet). Alternatively, I draft Lamb, Adams, Harrison, Kamara (lets say I like Zamir White but not as my #1 back). Feels like a coin flip to me but in the back of my mind I know there are still more receivers I really like in rounds 5-8 to keep building my depth so I sort of lean toward that CMC/Hall/Bijan/JT grouping as a significant advantage over those late 4th/early 5th RBs. -
Thanks for this, Vikes. I am surprised to see I had a podium finish in 2021 and top 5 finishes in 3 out of the last 5 years. It has mainly felt like I have been bottom of the league aside from the year I won.... which was a glorious year with, I believe FFToday taking down the IBL title and V4E winning the IBL individual title.

Dealing with bye weeks is an interesting element. That's what lead to the collusion I mentioned in my first post... one owner drafted 3 teams with the same bye so when that week came along his buddy traded with him which didn't get any scrutiny until they traded back a week later. if you want waivers to come into play then you'll need 10-12 owners with a 2 round draft or 8 owners with a 3 round draft.
-
looks like you got 3 in - edjr, BL and WW 3 interested - Twinsdad and pimp (plus helltoupee as a new person) 2 not interested plus horsenuts is mia. probably best to just get 8-10 degens and draft 3 or 4 teams.

I'm not part of it but I have two friends who are in an 8 team league with more or less that kind of format. 4 round draft for all 32 NFL teams. Rosters are normal size, iirc since free agents are exclusive. No trades unless its trading full rosters Team A trades the Cowboys to Team B for the Bills. I know one year they had an issue where two owners traded during a bye week and then traded back. All teams are owned so they have no waivers but i can't imagine waivers would be used very often even with 12 owners drafting 2 NFL teams. It's fairly low effort since its basically a short draft and then setting a weekly lineup. I'd do it for a low stakes buy in

Welcome @jerryskids -
And I dont even think there needs to be a suspension or lingering issues with Rice for Brown to become Mahomes #1 receiver option. I just think it's very telling that the Chiefs continue to try to bring in Hill style players. No one is ever going to be Tyreek, but its obvious they are looking for something specific. Brown seems like a no nonsense player despite the Hollywood nickname. If he builds a rapport with Mahomes, we will see his best season by a wide margin.
-
My case for Hollywood... in 2021 he had 91/1000/6 playing with Lamar Jackson who despite being a very good player, has never been the type of QB to really support a #1 receiver. He runs and relies on his tight end, he's not Mahomes. Even in 2020, Brown had 58/769/8 and also scored 7 times as a rookie. Even in Arizona, he combined for 118/1280/7 over two seasons while missing 8 games and dealing with pretty poor QB play. Over his 5 NFL seasons, he has averaged 62/729/5 and most people would agree he played with QBs who are not the most accurate passers. Still just 27 years old, I'm not sure he can't become the 1A to Rice's 1B as far as Chiefs WRs go, and thats assuming no suspension for Rice. The Chiefs have been looking for a new Tyreek ever since letting him go. (Hardman, Sky Moore, Toney etc). Brown is the most dynamic guy they have brought in. He is being drafted in the 35-40 range at WR. Well worth the draft capital. Not hard to envision 80/1100/8 (WR16 last year)

I'd roll with Hollywood

@OldMaid if horsenuts doesn't show up -
Just going to chime in with this post and then mostly check out until draft time. The only thing I want to see done is going back to the QB scoring from 2022 in regards to points per passing yard. It's very minor and we already had everyone agreeing it was an oversight. Should be .05/yard (versus .10/yard for rushing and receiving)... in other words 1 point per 20 yards passing Aside from that, I would leave the league completely as is. I am not personally in favor of expanding rosters or IR. As i've said before, I'm usually not in favor of changes that result in fewer tough decisions needing to be made. Sometimes you have to cut a player rather than rostering every lotto ticket you want. (if really pushed, I'd prefer adding 1 IR spot over any healthy roster spots) ... same in regards to best ball formats.... gross Current waivers are my preference. Start off with inverse order of draft and any time you use a priority you go to the back of the line Minor scoring changes I'm probably good with whatever. Decimals for field goals for example... i would never suggest it but also won't belabor it since people seem anti discussion If we need a replacement, reach out to OldMaid. She had expressed interest prior to 2022 season and at that time was our first alternate.

The annual June Mock is hitting it's midway point. Below is the sortable table provided by @Mike FF Today Currently into round 9 https://fftoday.com/mock/24_june.html

Just a few points on the whole Pollard / Spears thing since I did in fact draft Pollard as an RB3. While he was not the Pollard we saw splitting time with Zeke in Dallas, he was a volume dependent back capable of startable weeks. He still had 1300 total yards and a 4.0 ypc, the 6 TD's were just not what we wanted from a guy who finally took over. Also this is standard scoring, so I'm not inclined to care too much about Spears targets and receptions. Finally, The Titans paid Pollard... pretty early in the process and I believe he is somewhere around the 10th highest paid RB in the league right now. For at least one season, I see that investment buying him the lead role, unless he really stumbles.
-
Jayden Daniels (but I’ve explained I sort of view him as initially my #2) Breece Hall Zamir White Davante Adams Marvin Harrison Jr. Jayden Reed Dalton Kincaid Browns DST Jason Myers I also think Nabers could easily be my WR3 in short order and Pollard my RB2 if White can't continue to build on the promise of his end to 2023.

*2024 June Mock Draft No-Hassle Analysis*
WhiteWonder replied to Fumbleweed's topic in The Mocking Station
@Fumbleweed thank you for the analysis, brother. Appreciated as always. I have to give some additional reasoning / process behind some of my picks. (Rounds 1-3) ... Breece Hall - if choosing between Bijan and CeeDee, I may have opted to start WR. Hall put up 1580/9 last year with similarly bad QB play and a worse line, coming off major injury.... Bijan put up 1460/8. That may be splitting hairs but Hall is my #2 for standard. Draft spot also played a big part in it, as I figured the WR's available for me in rounds 2/3 would be more "studly" than the remaining RBs. I believe I was correct as Adams, Harrison and the likes of Evans and Metcalf were above the likes of Mixon, Jacobs, R. White on my board. I didn't see myself leaving rounds 1-3 without 1 RB and I like the trio of Hall/Adams/Harrison more than a trio of Lamb/Harrison/Mixon Zamir White - My least favorite pick as well. Kenneth Walker went right before me and Kamara had the same bye as Hall but Zamir was right in the same tier for me. The issue obviously being the very small sample size. I did debate taking Mark Andrews and picking David Montgomery in round 5 but Monty would not have made it to me and I really had my eye on Kincaid anyway. Jayden Reed - Felt like the upside WR in this range (over the likes of Diggs, Higgins, Cooper, Scary Terry). If I had foreseen myself picking up Nabers as a WR4, I probably would have opted for a safer veteran. -
**Round Eleven-Sixteen Commentary**
WhiteWonder replied to Fumbleweed's topic in The Mocking Station
QB Jayden Daniels, Was. QB Justin Herbert, LAC RB Breece Hall, NYJ RB Zamir White, LV RB Tony Pollard, Ten. RB Rico Dowdle, Dal. RB J.K. Dobbins, LAC WR Davante Adams, LV WR Marvin Harrison, Jr., Ari. WR Jayden Reed, GB WR Malik Nabers, NYG WR Joshua Palmer, LAC TE Dalton Kincaid, Buf. TE Ben Sinnott, Was. D/ST, Cleveland Browns K Jason Myers, Sea. QB - Daniels was the guy I really wanted. I'd have preferred to pair him with a Love, Tua, Goff or even a Dak but Herbert has enough talent that he was worth taking in spite of what people fear will be a very run heavy offense. RB - Getting my consensus #2 back makes me feel good about the group no matter what. Hopeful for continued progress from White and a bounce back for Pollard. I believe Dallas will give Zeke plenty of work but I am hopeful Dowdle becomes the new Pollard and Dobbins was just a dart throw for depth joining his OC in LA WR - For going RB in round 1, I was pleased to pair Adams and Harrison to headline the position. Green Bay might be a three headed monster at WR but I am hopeful Reed becomes the 1A. It felt weird taking another rookie WR but the value seemed right for Nabers who should get fed, especially with Waller's retirement. TE - Expecting a big leap for Kincaid. Would have liked a more reliable TE2 but alas, Sinnott has upside at least Overall, I think this is a team with a lot of upside and a lot of crash potential with 3 rookies playing prominent roles (Daniels, Harrison, Nabers), 3 more 2nd year players in White, Reed and Kincaid. -
16.09 - K Jason Myers, SEA
-
14.09 - D/ST, Cleveland Browns
