we live in a great democracy. you can pretend to choose between two candidates rather than have someone chosen for you -
Apologies. I had Matsuyama at +1. Someone had entered Fitzpatrick at +2

Would he have been drafted with 6 rounds? Maybe. I was surprised no one took Taylor Moore or Akshay

We could have drafted 6. Field seems deeper than I originally thought.

you don't realize politics is nothing more than a chess game between two parties? the correct answer for every question from any politician is always the answer that is perceived to strengthen relationships with their important voter bases. do you really think Joe Biden cares about abortion?

Mama, don't let your kids grow up to be RB's

I would also add that in addition to league rule changes, that teams began to realize that RB tandems, or committee's are just as good if not better than one stud especially given the injury prone nature of the position. Fresh legs often triumphs and you can ditch a guy after his rookie deal and move on to the next set of cheap fresh legs. The money is better spent on QB, offensive tackles and guys who can last 10+ years. I'm not sure that would revert even if the NFL started shifting to rules that favored the RB position. -

we are talking football, not baseball? It's hard to compare the two in terms of what type of players you should pay to win versus which players might be worth the investment from a pure business standpoint. I think there is something to be said for the fact we dont see NFL players faces on the field so when you get a charismatic star (like a Justin Jefferson), he sells tickets and merchandise. I don't know anything about Devers. Is he charismatic? Does baseball even allow him to be if he were? Is he playing like a superstar? Quick look at his numbers this year says hes an all-star level guy not a superstar Ohtani, Soto, Judge, etc. -

of course it does. But absent of winning, stars put asses in seats. And winning or losing, the star WR's and RB's jerseys are often the biggest sellers or at least right behind the star QB -

yes and no. WR's are personalities who help drive interest in the team and sell tickets and merch. Again, their careers are longer and a team can hitch their wagon to a WR as a face of the franchise. But yes, I agree that in terms of winning super bowls, it really boils down to QB, Offensive Line and Pass Rushers. The Chiefs were able to let Hill go because when you have Mahomes, protection for him, a good scheme, and players like Jones on defense... you can win titles without a stud receiver (ignoring Kelce in this example). I look at my own Jets and their 2022 draft class. Big hits on Sauce, Wilson, Breece and Jermaine Johnson and I think Johnson may wind up proving to be the most crucial one to keep long term. Most QB's do need weapons though so Wilson would slot in 2nd. Sauce would be 3rd because as good as he is, shutdown corners don't play at that level for very long. Breece might be the most fun to watch of the 4 but ... RB. -

I mean logically, if your kid is dead set on playing football and talented enough to make the NFL one day, you should be encouraging him to play WR because they make more and their careers are typically longer with less wear and tear on the body. As far as WR vs QB, the elite QB's make more but there are less QB jobs to go around. How much does a valued WR3 make compared to a decent backup QB? better for them to be a star basketball or baseball player though -
most news worthy thing Lonzo Ball has done in quite some time

Rosie for my alt i think most events lately have seen late drafters just sit there and have talent fall into their laps. not that it always works out but Matty fitz, zalaclitoris, cam young, jason day as 3/4th rounders falling to the 8/9 hole where I think the top tier ends around pick 11 makes those teams look stacked on paper. I had no strat. Morikawa was who I intended to take in round 1... An or Hideki in round 2... almost took Lee Hodges as early as round 3. t12 in his last 2 events and t12 here last year. (MC incoming) ... Tom Kim was who I wanted in round 3 though.

that play is pretty flagrant to me. Way more than an average push off. Doesn't even look like much of a flop on the part of the other girl. Clark looks like she's following through on an NFL sled drill. Guess my point is, the more i have read and seen it doesn't seem like Clark is some innocent player who hasn't dished out her share of questionable plays but nwo the focus has shifted to her being bullied in the WNBA

doesn't seem like much has changed Sorry, I got two incidents mixed up. So the video that was posted in this thread was older but I was thinking of an incident from the national championship game in April. https://x.com/Tiger__Vibes/status/1777056099427881174

The video clip of Clark's dirty play was from the national championship game against SC in 2024, right? Which was roughly 2 months ago? Your post saying "it was also last year in college" seemed to insinuate that it was somewhat old news and not exactly relevant to current discussions of physical or borderline dirty play. I just thought it was ironic that there had been excuses earlier in this thread for her slow start based on the quick turnaround time but then when it comes to that play, the importance of the timeline changes
