Was just at Aftershock and saw Slayer. All the shirts were black so I ended up getting a bandana to hang on the wall.

I go to a sh1t ton of concerts. God knows I have too many t-shirts so I started getting signed drum heads to hang on the wall.

Was going to make a mom reference, but you beat me to it.

At least one of his songs was finally in English. "Make it wet, let it jet"

New Dream Theater single released today. New album comes out in Feb. Can't wait to see them again with my kids. So good having Mike Portnoy back.

I, too, have had some hazy memories of concerts due to too much drinking. Definitely a delicate balance. Just checked schedule and looks like I'll have to miss Drug Church as they are playing at the same time as Till Lindeman. Maybe I'll get another chance to see them at some future date.

They were good. Very personable and fun. Unfortunately I had to deal with some work sh1t halfway thru their set. I could still hear them pretty good from the concourse at least.

@Fnord Either you were drunk or setlist varied greatly as JP played 3 songs from latest album. As expected they played opening track to start the show and title track near the end. The 3rd song was kind of a surprise - Crown of Horns - but it's a good song and gave Halford a chance to rest his vocal chords a bit. Overall I focking loved the setlist. Pleasantly surprised at the amount of older material they played. Songs that I would've liked to hear from Defenders of the Faith or Desert Plains from Point of Entry they played on their last tour so I can't complain. Just like last tour they showed video of Glenn Tipton during some of the more epic guitar solos. He's technically still in the band but Parkinson's makes it so he can't tour any more. Loved that. My voice is kinda raw now from all the sing along parts, especially Electric Eye. Time to grab a few hours of sleep before flying down to Sacramento for two days of Aftershock. If I stop posting then it means I probably died in the mosh pit.

Never really listened to Slayer when I was a young lad. Didn't dislike them but wasn't really my thing. Doing a deep dive in preparation of show next week. Damn it's gonna be fun! I just hope my old ass doesn't get too damaged in the pit that will certainly form. Especially since I fly home the next day and immediately hit the road for a son of a friend's wedding.
