I was trying to reply to peenie's statement regarding prospective home buyers checking out a house during construction. I would guess that activity would occur during the daytime.
"investigating" a house in the middle of the night, to me at least, seems suspicious regardless of the race of people involved.
If he did this in broad daylight then peenie has a point. My wife and I checked out a neighbor's house that was largely complete but still under construction. We were having a similar floorplan built so we looked thru his back window to see some of the finishing touches he decided on.

Back in college we had this cool black band play at one of our parties. Dudes were awesome and very friendly.
A little while later we went to a bar that turned out to be a black establishment. We saw the band playing and cheerfully gave him a "my man!“ shout out. Guy completely acted like he didn't know us because we were white.
To add insult to injury some large black fellows then confronted us and asked if they could dance wiff our dates. Very awkward.
