  1. My favorite local brewery (Rubicon Brewing Co.) had a Hoptoberfest last month with a tasting of 20+ IPA's. The IPAs from Marin Brewing Co. and Triple Rock were delicious, but my favorite was the West Coast IPA from Green Flash Brewing in San Diego. VERY good stuff!

I'll have to give them a try. A pub near my work in Seattle (Brouwer's) also does a "HopFest" each year, with about 50 or so IPAs on tap. Good times.

This year I remember Iron Horse Brewery from Ellensburg, WA having a couple of good offerings -- not sure how widely available their beers are, however. Another one that you might like is Maharaja from Avery Brewing (CO).

  2. DogFish Head has a wide variety. If you are really stating to get into IPAs - then get their 60 minute IPA, probably about $8 for a 6-pack. Once you enjoy that, move up to the 90 minute IPA, this only comes in 4-packs (one of my personal favorites). And if you *really* like the 90min, feel free to treat yoursefl to the 120 minute IPA. You can only buy these in singles (12oz) and they are about $8-9 here. This is a phenominal brew, very, very strong (~25%abv). Don't chug any of them either, actually let the beer approach room temp, makes a big difference in the taste.

The Raison D'Etere is a dark belgian ale, very good as well.

I agree that the DogFish Head IPAs are very good. Here are a few other IPAs you might want to try:

    Bridgeport IPA (from Oregon)

    Stone Ruination IPA (CA)

Great Divide Hercules Double IPA (CO)

    Cheers!

  3. I'm a huge fan of India Pale Ales (IPAs). These are extremely hoppy ales, which you might find too "bitter" if you're a lifelong Bud drinker, but once you acquire a taste for hoppy beers it's hard to go back. Enjoy!

    Some of my favorites:

    Bridgeport IPA (OR)

    Stone Ruination IPA (CA)

Great Divide Hercules Double IPA (CO)

    Damn! Now I'm getting thirsty...

  4. FU to myself plus McGahee.

I can never start this bastard on the right week. Start him last week when he "will start" and he gets me 0 carries for 0 focking yards, while Rice goes off. Decide to play it safe this week and see how it plays out and the sumbitch gains over 100 yds with 2 TDs.

    I suck at this game.

  5. Chris Mortensen just said on ESPN that McGahee will play today.

    And from the ESPN site:

SportsNation ESPN Fantasy: ESPN's John Clayton confirms that both Chris McAlister (knee) and Samari Rolle (neck) are inactive for the Ravens, but Willis McGahee (ankle) will play and start. Todd Heap (neck) and Le'Ron McClain (ankle) are also active. McGahee is the only viable fantasy choice of the bunch. (12:03 p.m. ET)

  6. A guy lost 94-90 and he had the Pats who gave up 5 sacks so he lost five.

His theory is 5+ means more than five because it's 5+.

Pats homer complaining about things being "unfair" all of a sudden? (Sorry, couldn't resist)

  7. Alright, the FU is official now. How does Gruden let Brian ###### Griese throw 67 times but only gives his best player 12 touches?

The answer is simple: Earnest Graham @ss-raped me last week with his late 60+ yd TD. Once that mojo was spent he was due for a down week. I apologize to all Earnest Graham owners this week.
