1. Nobody is safe, but I should be fine. 2. It's an aggressive way to cut. There will be mistakes but when you believe you need to cut as much as you do. Mistakes will be made. 3. The plan includes consolidating offices so people will leave when their work moves across the country. Some will move with the job. It's a very interesting time. Nobody has done anything as large scale as this. If I survive the process I expect things to be very different in 4 years. Politically this will hurt Vance in 2028. When whole towns die because the local federal office was moved to a different state people will blame the administration. I don't think the money saved will sway people. It's why congressmen fight so hard for their federal work force. -

Little birdy sent me the Reduction in Force (RIF) plan. It's pretty much going down as I expected. Lots of people are about to be let go. -

I've already said it looks disorganized. But that's because Elon and the trumps cabinet are not in sync. But that (in general) is how these mass layoffs go. You cut too much and then hire people back. -

Obama actually attempted to do that. The reason it doesn't work is that over that time frame, everyone gets an exception. Federal employees are good for the local economy. Those economies reside in congressmen's and senators' districts. People losing jobs in their districts is bad for their re-election campaigns so they fight to keep them. After it's all said and done nobody gets cut and often the bureaucracy gets bigger. Trump DNGAF he's not up for reelection. He wants to cut so he's taking a meat clever to everything. By the time all the lawsuits get settled, sure some will get hired back but most will have moved on. -
Yes he would have won easily. I just wish the choice wasn't losing my job or cutting my sons d1ck off.

I agree it hasn't been thought out very well. I mean how can it? The bureaucracy is complex for a reason. There are laws and policies on top of other laws and policies. It's very complex. -

Me too, but IMO you have to use a meat cleaver in this situation. Any other way will take too long and not get the desired outcome. -

Yes people are very angry. I see both sides. There is a lot of waste. I tried to fire someone last year but ultimately they moved her to a different dept. Another guy took the buyout before I could process his paperwork. These are people who have been working in this office I was moved to for years. I was moved to try and clean it up, but Doge might do a lot of that for me. That being said the vast majority of people I work with are good people who do their job. They are people with families, bills, and homes. All these people losing their jobs will hurt their local economy. It will have trickle-down effects. I also see why trimming the fat is a good thing. I have plenty of service time and have only ever received top ratings. I am not worried, but I could get caught in a larger net so I'm not 100% safe. -

As for the email and 5 task here is what Elon is doing with it. First thing because a couple of idiots think he and his team are going to read each one. No he and his team are not reading 2.1 million emails. And people can spam the address all they want it doesn't matter. They are only wasting their own time. AI will sort all the emails and start using logic on them. For example, It will take a GS 7 in the Education dept and compare his write-up to all other GS 7s in the same education dept (it can even go government-wide). AI will make recommendations for low performers and people not working. That logic will be reviewed and refined by Elons team. This will take 2-3 weeks of receiving these task emails before it's probably 95% accurate. Once it's compiled, Elon and his team should be sending these lists to the respective depts. But as we've seen Elon seems to be working independently here and might just move into those dept on his own. Again it comes down to how strong each dept head is and if Trump makes them let Elon in.
