Help me rank these deep-sleeper RBs for next year

I agree that Ryan Moats has very little chance at a bright future. He hasn't shown much in Philly or even now in Houston. I don't know that Marcus Mason with the Jets will get an opportunity barring an injury to Thomas Jones or Leon Washington.
  2. I am in a 20 man deep dynasty league with several potential good RBs on the waiver wire. The ones that I like the most are De De Dorsey, Kregg Lumpkin, Marcus Mason, Ryan Moats, Kolby Smith and Danny Ware. Obviously none of these guys are super-studs, but who has a chance to be an RB2 for next year and possibly more in the future. My assessment of these guys follows; De De Dorsey - He has more "burst" than any of the other RBs currently on the roster. Benson and Perry are not the future in Cincinnatti. Kregg Lumpkin - Grant is not the same as he was last year and seems to be constantly dinged up. B-Jax still can not pick up blitzes. Opening for Lumpy? Marcus Mason - Had a great pre-season. But will he get a chance to play for the Jets? He has a lot of talent but they may draft their future RB. Ryan Moats - Current #2 RB in Houston. Maybe he will continue to impress and get more playing time next year. Kolby Smith - Is he still the heir-apparent in KC? Will his knee injury allow him to come back and compete? Or has Jamaal Charles taken over as the #2 in KC? Danny Ware - He will most likely be the RB3 next year for the Giants. He seems to have a lot of talent but will be way down on the depth chart. Which 2 or 3 RBs do you guys like the best for next year and beyond? Thanks.
  3. There is a lot of talk about how well Chad Pennington is doing this year in Miami. I think that he deserves a lot of credit because he came in late and learned their system and has been instrumental in Miami's resurgence this season. His "rag arm" has not been much of a factor recently. I even read something about how he was statistically the best QB in the league for the month of October. With that said, is there a chance that Chad Henne could be the starter in 2009? He has done well in practice and in his brief outing in week 2 I believe. He has to be thought of as the future starter at QB. I just wonder when he will get a realistic shot. Any chance that Pennington gets released in the off season? Any thoughts and/or discussion is welcome.

Chad Henne - any chance he will start in '09?

Any Miami homers or anyone else with any thoughts?
  5. I am trying to compare some of the ww D/STs that are available in some of the leagues that I am in with the Offenses that they will be playing in the coming weeks. Updated info is critical for this. I do not want a D/STs' season average. It is much more important to look at how a D/ST has done over the last 3-4 weeks instead of using their season-long stat line. If there is a weely updated ranking of the Offenses that we could compare with recent stats for D/STs, that would give us ome very useull information going forward!
  6. Thanks Grizzly, but that was not what I was hoping for. The link that you provided breaks it down by each position. Is there a site that offers overall offensive rankings? For example, the D/STs for StL, Cle and Oakland are on the ww. I would like to know the current offensive ranking for all of the NFL teams to see which of these ww D/STs might be the better pick up for atleast spot starts for the remainder of the season.

    Jennings did not practice today

How serious is Jennings' hamstring issues? Would it be beneficial to pick up Ruvell Martin off of the waiver wire?

    Arnaz Battle

Actualy, Ashley Lelie is the back up to DJax. That would make him either the #3 or #4 WR on the team. With DJax and his bum knees and his lingering turf-toe, Lelie might be worth a roster spot in deep leagues.

Anyone starting Fred Taylor this week?

I am torn between Fred, Marshawn Lynch or Norwood as my RB2...

    giants homers: ahmad bradshaw

The latest that I have read is that he is behind both Droughns and Ward. However, I think he will get a chance to showcase his skills as the season goes on.

    Kenton Keith

Does anybody have the scoop on Kenton Keith? I would assume that he will likely remain the primary back-up to Addai since we went all the way through TC with the Colts... I certainly didn't see this coming. I bet Dorsey didn't either What kind of value does Keith have?

    Kenton Keith

Thanks Bentley, that was a very concise report! I was able to pick up Keith in my deep dynasty league.

    David Patten

Not a Saints homer, but I wouldn't bother with Patten. I can't see ever starting him even as a WR3 during a bye week. Maybe if you have a list of other ww fodder you could post and we could give you ideas...

    Brandon Jacobs vs Willis McGahee

I just got Brandon Jacobs in the 3rd round of a 12 team re-draft. I am VERY happy
  15. I thought I read somewhere a couple of days ago that Kevin Jones will not start the season on the PUP. Did anyone else see this or did I halucinate it? What would Jones being active mean for Tatum Bell's value? I had Tatum Bell targeted for the 6th round in a non-PPR redraft. How far would this drop Tatum? Any info/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Who would you take?

FWP is back at practice - guess the knee swelling was nothing.

    Who would you take?

I have the 1.07 position in my draft coming up in 2 weeks. No PPR, 6 point TDs, 1 point for every 10 yards gained. I have changed my mind on this pick atleast 100 times! Westbrook - He was my original thought at 1.07. I owned him last year and he was GREAT. The offense goes through Westbrook. He will get you points running the ball as well as catching it. Sure he has an injury history, but he only missed one game last year. He should be $$$ this year. FWP - Then I started to think that Parker was the right call. He is supposed to be more involved in the offense this year and definitely has the ability to catch the ball. He should be in the game on 3rd down. I am concerned about the swelling in his knee. Also, he is a new offense and we don't know for sure what his role will be. He could be very good to have this year. Rudi - The good news is his consistancy. The bad news is we already know what his ceiling is. Since Irons is out for the season there is talk about Rudi getting the ball even more! Will he still be out on 3rd downs?? Hard to take him when he is pulled on most 3rd down plays. Westy and FWP will be in on 3rd downs and geting more ff points for your team... T Henry - He is on one of the best run oriented offenses on the planet! He is a tough runner and is willing to play when hurt. He loked terrific on his few carries last night and Shanny was happy with him as he came off the field. I keep thinking that 1.07 is too early for Travis, but maybe not. He should be the focal point of the Denver offense as long as he runs hard and doesn't fumble. I just can't make up my mind who to take at 1.07. Yesterday I would have drafted FWP. If my draft was today I think I would take T Henry! What would you do in this draft slot???

    FWP update

Parker said he does not think he'll need to have surgery on his knee after the season. What in the world does this phrase mean?? Has there been talk of him needing surgery? Where did this come from? I have seen reports about the swelling and pain in the knee, but nothing about there being a possible need for any surgery to be done. This statement seems to come out of the blue.
  19. Smokin'!!

    Who would you take?

I am torn between Westbrook and FWP... Westbrook has not played through a complete season. FWP might now have knee swelling and has a new OC. Who knows if this will help or hurt him??

    Need Trade Advice

    Agree with above.
  21. Smokin'!!

With the #6 pick, is FWP.....

Even in a non PPR league Westbrook would not be a bad pick at # 6 or 7. The offense basically runs through Westbrook. He will ALWAYS be in the mix either running or receiving. FWP can catch the ball well, but for some odd reason they don't have him catching many balls. Also, I am a little bit leery of FWP because we don't know what role he will play in the new offense.
  22. Smokin'!!

With the #6 pick, is FWP.....

Why not go with Westy at #6? We know he has a good O-line and will be in the game for all 3rd downs.

    Drafting Techniques

Anybody else think this would work?
  24. Smokin'!!

    Drafting Techniques

What do you guys think of this idea... From the 7th position... How about going with Westy, FWP, or whoever drops to me, THEN go WR in the next 2 rounds and QB in the 4th round (to get a top 5 QB)?? I could then come back and get Norwood, Chester, or Jordan as my RB2 in the 5th. This way I would have 2 VERY good WRs and a top 5 QB. Would this work? My only weakness after the first 4 rounds would be my RB2 position, but I would be VERY strong at QB, RB1, WR1 and WR2. I am in a non PPR league, start 2 RBs and 3WRs. In rounds 5 and 6 I would get my RB2 and WR3. I think that this would make me more competitive overall instead of just following everyone else when they grab their RB2 and their WRs... Opinions?

    Rookie Dynasty Help

I would go with Bowe. He will be a starter this year for a team that is desperate for a good WR. The other guys will either have competition for playing time or will not be a big enough part of their team's offense. JMHO.
