Anyone seen "Night at the Museum?

Go see "We Are Marshall." Not that I'm biased (*cough*), but it's a good movie. Ignore the critics, because most regular people are liking it. Good football scenes, the wife may be interested in the eye candy (if she goes for McConaughey or Fox), and it's quite a story, as well. Night at the Museum is a perfectly good kids movie.

One of the best focking games I have ever seen. Boise State has bigger balls than any other team in the country.

    Which New Year's Eve Show?

I agree, it was a bit sad. Although he has certainly improved since last year. His speech is better, as is his mobility. No matter who it is, it's a bit rough to watch someone suffer from the consequences of a stroke. On that note, happy new year.

    Who's getting drunk 2nite?

Having a few sips of (really, really cheap) champagne in the privacy of my own home. Way too many drunks on the road tonight. And personally, I feel that dying would not be a very good way to start the new year.

    Banana Man

(Not , sorry) Anyone remember 'The Banana Man' from the old TV show Captain Kangaroo? Wasn't my time, but kept hearing family stories at the Xmas party, and curious to find around about this fabled banana man. Anyone heard of him?

    What should I do?

Didn't read anything on the thread, but "Have another beer" seems like the right choice in almost any situation. "I won the lottery!" Great, have a beer. "My pal had a heart attack." Geez, that's terrible. You need a beer.

    A Night At The Museum?

Actually, no. One of his most subdued roles, especially considering the context.

    A Night At The Museum?

It's a very, very good movie for older kids (I'm think 7 or 8+, possibly younger and depending on maturity level). It's a well-made movie that actually had some effort put into it; it's not just another run-of-the-mill cookie cutter kids movie. It actually has a plot, has some humor, like I said, has some actual effort put into it. Nice special effects, as well.

    Drew Breese

IMO, it's Chad Pennington. Two serious shoulder surgeries, both on his throwing arm. My father had the same shoulder surgery as own of Chad's, and still can't lift his arm above his head. The Jets were what, 4-12 last year without Chad? This year, despite having no great running back and a 1st year head coach, they're above .500 and a good bet to make the playoffs. Yeah, you can make a case for Brees, but Pennington has overcome more and done more with less, IMO.

I never hear The Beatles on the radio anymore

Just got Sgt Pepper and the White Album for Christmas - brilliant stuff. If it weren't so focking cold out right now I'd go out to my car and get 'em. Got "Love" not too long ago. Not a bad introduction to the music. Sounded kinda like the Beatles with a bit of Pink Floyd thrown in. Had some great re-mastering, and enjoyed some of the stuff more than others. "Hey Jude" sounded very crisp, but I want to hear the 'whole' song. Loved the sound of Eleanor Rigby and I Am the Walrus, and liked the transition between the two. Also enjoyed the way they blended "Blackbird" into "Yesterday." Lady Madonna, Get Back, Come Together, and All You Need is Love were some others that are sticking out as being good. Prefer the 'regular' stuff, but really not bad - especially since I think Cirque De Soleil is one of the absolute most pathetic, over-rated things ever. Saw La Nouba a few years back and walked out feeling completely confused. Maybe I'm just not 'deep' or 'sensitive' enough, but I thought it was pretty retarded.

Whats so great about Johnny Cash?

Sheesh, that's the opposite of most of today's riders. Today's artists could learn a lesson. And whoever said that his music shouldn't be confined to a single genre was absolutely right. He was so much more than country. "But I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die." Ya gotta love a lyric like that.

I never hear The Beatles on the radio anymore

We get a fair amount here, comparatively. I listen to three different radio stations, and generally hear a Beatles song once every couple days. The Beatles really don't have enough respect from a lot of today's music fans, IMO. I was raised listening to oldies music, but just recently started paying deep attention to their music. So much of it was revolutionary, and most of it is still pretty damn good. A fair amount of it can easily be called great. Most people my age don't realize that essentially every band they listen to today would likely be non-existent without the Beatles.

Best song and Best album of 2006

Haven't heard much of their stuff, and I am definitely not a country fan (especially current country), but I can handle them. They have some talent - something that too many fo today's bands in any genre are severely lacking. Also, liked Stadium Arcadium, but it got overplayed around here. Had to listen to "Dani California" about 15 times a day on the local radio. Liked some of John Mayer's stuff this year, but again, got a bit tired of it. Thought "Gravity" was a nice song - first heard it on "House," oddly enough. Arctic Monkeys are talented, but they were so freaking hyped that I got to the point where I developed an unfair prejudice against them. Now that I can hear it without having to get 40 minutes of someone on TV preaching about how they are the "second coming The Beatles," I'm interested in seeing what they put out in the future. One of my favorites (if not my absolute favorite) of the year was "Change in the Weather" by Eric Lindell. Pretty unknown at the moment, but has been a part of the Northern Cal/New Orleans (if I remember right) music scene for a while. For a first major CD, it's full of talent. He's got a great blues feel to his music - give a listen to "Give it Time." There's a free download available here: http://www.ericlindellband.com/musicFrame.htm
