Safe to say we need to have some set dates for certain things for the league, the following is what I came up with to get the conversation started. I would also like everyone to PM me their cell so I can text them reminders of the major events. I will never call you, just text. I hate talking on the phone. July 1st - deadline for committing to the league via payment. If we need to replace an owner, that would give us roughly a month to do so. July 15th - deadline for rosters getting trimmed to 25 in preperation of the darft. August 1st - Start of Draft ( I think we need to clean up some rules concerning the draft too) *edit - I fugred out my password now I can post from work

Sorry I have not posted sooner, couldn't log into FFT from work. So, obviously Taco is back from the dead!!! It is apparent that he did not know the draft date, and that is a communication error on MY PART. I did a such a piss poor job confirming the draft date in the other thread that not only Taco, but MTSkibum was unsure of the draft date. Going forward, we will implement Kutulu's idea about set dates (and corresponding punitive actions) for checking in/league fees, roster management, and the draft so this does not happen again. I will make another thread sometime soon and we can toss it around. I understand the situation sucked, and I am sorry for that. I feel sick to my stomach thinking that I caused this, and more specifically, the loss of a good owner in Devilwoman.

No word on the Taco Breath front. Considering his lengthy absence before we finally hunted him down to see if he was gonna play this year, and his subsequent month long absence, I have little hope that he will show. I suggest we give Taco the rest of today. If he does not show, we actively search for a replacement. Hopefully one of you have a friend that would be interested in playing. what a crappy start to the season, sorry everyone.

This was not fun to wake up to. You have been a great addition to the league and will be missed. I always appreciated your promptness and attentiveness, nearly as much as I appreciate you playing out the year. Very stand up of you. I am sincerely sorry that my actions have soured you on the league.

I have sent Taco 2 texts and left a voice message with him today. No reply. I have reached out to a friend of his (who has not heard from Taco in a while) and he will try and get a hold of him and tell him to check in. We have had some different opinions from league owners on how to deal with this, so how I choose to proceed will not agree with everyone. Since I get paid the big bucks to be commissioner, I decide to give him a day or two before any actions are taken. At least give his friend a chance to hunt him down or time for Taco to respond (who knows, his phone might be dead or, god forbid, something happened to him). My reasoning: This is going to end either two ways, he shows or he doesn't. If he shows, we can take punitive action. If he doesn't show, we will have to find a new owner to replace him. Replacing him will be a lot easier if we have not skipped all their draft picks this year. And without a replacement, there is no league. Now, being proactive, anyone have a friend who would be interested in taking over his team if he is a no show?

I am hesitant to take any action at this time due to what happened with Vuduchile a couple years ago. I got the vague impression from prior instances that as a group we didn't sweat the timer on the draft too much so I didn't react yesterday. Probably an error on my part, So I apologize for that. I have Taco's contact info so I will text him today and let him know it is his draft pick. And Devilwoman, I am in total agreement with your stance on the rules. But the last time I put my foot down we lost an owner over it and the league lost me as a commissioner for a couple years. That is why I am wearing the kiddie gloves you see me sporting nowadays. I have let slide some other stuff like roster cutdowns and paying of fees, so cant really pick and choose what I go hardline on.

A. Picking Keepers 1. No more than Twenty-five (25) Keepers will be selected a minimum of one (1) week before the rookie draft. Failing to do so will result in a stiff kick in the ass. Continued failures will result in a loss of a 2nd round draft pick.

Once the NFL schedule is released, we can pick out a day to start our Rookie Draft. The Draft is set up without a pick timer, so we may want to make the start date kind of early.

So far I am inclined to let it start on July 28th as shown at the league page.
