Isn't it time for the Reggie Williams Hype?

He looks like a total bust. What a waste of athletic talent. He seemed to be a great pick at the time but something's definitely wrong with him....lazy?.....poor habits?.....sticky-icky? Jacksonville got shafted by Williams but are still in good shape for the future with the wr's they have.

Javon Walker visiting Saints today, Broncos Tomorrow.

Wow.....personally I think trading up would be a horrible idea, even for Mario. Trade down or take Hawk/Davis, hopefully get something for Walker, and take advantage of a deep draft. Don't try to move up....it's not worth the price to me.

Denver could draft 3 wr's this year, but why? This draft is definitely not known for it's depth at receiver. Walker is coming back from an ACL but Denver and NO have seen his size, speed, and he's still young. That may be worth it to them if they believe he's going to be as good as he was before his injury. Denver especially is built to win NOW so they may take the gamble. Doesn't GB hold all the cards in this though? It's costing them little to let Walker sit....it's costing Walker future millions. They don't need to make this trade.

A bidding war would be beautiful!!! I'd take either Lelie or Stallworth plus a high 2nd rounder. This is getting good.

    Woodson, Packers agree to terms

I think I've been swayed by others on what I'd like to see happen for the best of the team. Since Favre is coming back I'd like to see them take Vernon Davis. This draft is deep at LB so would you rather get a fast, stud, proven leader LB in Hawk or wait and take an excellent LB in maybe Howard or Lawson in the 2nd? Meanwhile you may be getting a freakish, once in a lifetime TE instead. I'm starting to think the freakish talent makes more sense right now, especially since Favre is still there. I'd also still love to see a draft day trade with Denver involving Walker, Lelie, and a Denver low 2nd rounder. Then I'd like to see GB get Davis, Lawson/Howard, then maybe Jean-Gilles or Joseph at guard. I'd love to see that happen.

    Favre Will Play This Year

Nice. I'm sure that's the only reason. You go through the trouble of finding out his interception stats and then drop on us that he won't reach Marino and he's assured of 22 int's but yet it's only because of FF from last year. If you're so smart why did you have him on your FF team last year anyway? Seems to me you would have known not to pick him.

DRAFT DAY: How do you endure it?

You can turn the sound down. Come on though, you've got to love Kiper's hair helmet and Sean's tough guy act. 4 downs with Salisbury and Clayton is hysterical. Sean tries to act pretty tough for a QB and Clayton - aka bobblehead - aka - Pez-dispenser makes you laugh while you're scratching your head trying to figure out how he got the job on ESPN talking about football of all things. The dude looks like Mr. Mackey from South Park mmmmkay? He should be doing radio only. Question: Who makes you laugh harder when they come on TV? - Clayton - Jeff VanGundy - Lou Holtz

DRAFT DAY: How do you endure it?

en·dure ( P ) Pronunciation Key (n-dr, -dyr) v. en·dured, en·dur·ing, en·dures v. tr. To carry on through, despite hardships; undergo: endure an Arctic winter. To bear with tolerance: “We seek the truth, and will endure the consequences” (Charles Seymour). See Synonyms at bear Endure it? All you need to do is sit on your fat azz and eat, drink, and sleep during it. It may be the least enduring thing to do in the universe....especially if you've got a chair that has a fridge and a crapper built into it. I'm not sure I'll make it through, but I'm going to damn well give it my best shot.

Really looking forward to another season of this

What kind of sadistic freak fan are you? You were irritated because they did well? Wouldn't you rather experience being in the playoffs and having a great year than you would having a miserable one? Are all Bears fans as optimistic as you? You sound more like a Cubs fan to me. I don't care who the coach is, I'd want my team to win every year. I have quite a few friends that live in Chicago and are Bears fans, they enjoyed 2002. Some of the most exciting, edge of your seat football I've ever seen.

I'm beginning to think Hawk isn't going to be the pick but Vernon Davis is. Maybe that's why they didn't mention Favre coming back until now. Everybody thinks the Packers are taking Hawk. Maybe that's what Thompson wants them to think.?.?.

Agree with almost everything swamp dog says here. You can't have your cake and eat it too Bears fans. You're reaching with this more recent history crap....history is history. And I agree with the lack of consistency in the NFL. The Bears are a prime example. Chicago could just as easily go 5-11 this year as they could go 11-5.

    FF 06 DEFENSE

Surprised this is the only one I saw with the Giants. I think they're going to be great. Another one is Detroit. Marinelli alone will make them better, and if they get Huff or a Linebacker in the draft, they could be good.

    Favre Will Play This Year

It doesn't make sense to me that some of you are willing to go out of your way just to slam Favre. Why? There are Lions fans and Eagles fans in here that have never experienced the success the Packer fans have but yet they make it a point to come by and take shots at a guy that they would have loved to have on their team. Is it just jealousy?

Is Owens the 2nd Best WR of all time?

Governor (to be) Swann? Hilarious! That guy would be extremely average now. If it weren't for his clutchitude in the postseason, he'd never be mentioned with good receivers much less great ones. Which wr scores the most this season?

How is projecting stats when a guy got hurt all that much different than projecting stats when the guy's going to be playing in an entirely different system. A system, which has already been mentioned, that got Chris Chambers 11 td's last year when guys like Gus Frerotte were throwing him the ball. It seems that your projections matter, and others don't. Bye the way, would Kevin Curtis have had those stats if Bruce and Holt weren't hurt? Doubtful. Personally, I think Linehan is salivating at the thought of having a team with many offensive weapons that plays in the NFC West. Sure, Seattle's defense has gotten better but they still play Arizona and the 49ers twice per year. Not to mention non-divisional games could be better overall. It's no secret that the NFC is weaker than the AFC as a whole.

Eagles Could Acquire Walker by Saturday

Huh? You're sure Walker is fully recovered from knee surgery.... If Denver trades for Walker they have a guy recovering from an ACL injury... Is he healthy or not? What are you talking about?

Common Draft Tendencies from your leagues

I'm in the minority, but guys putting too much emphasis on their "strategy" and not being flexible....especially if you're picking in the top few spots. I've had picks near the top and took one of the top wr's or QB's in the 2nd or 3rd round once I have a SA or LT. I'd rather fill my roster with studs than pick the 14th rb on my list. Besides, if you have SA or LT you're most likely going to have a RB who's scoring as much on his own than most FF teams get from both of their RB's each week. I've taken my chances and it's worked out well for me. The important thing is knowing the possible gems in the mid to later rounds.

    Call to Arms

You want Green and Gold Glasses....here's what I see through mine. - Packers take Hawk 1st round in the draft. - Trade Walker to Denver for Lelie and low 2nd rounder. - Take Jean-Gilles with 2nd round pick. - Take either Lewis or Byrd at TE with other 2nd rounder. Suffer through down year..... Take Brady Quinn as the #1. I'm a masichist! No pain, no gain.

Which wr scores the most this season?

You lost me on this. You mentioned Holt being held back by a new coach? That didn't hold back TO in Philly. Also, why would it hold back Holt if it didn't Chambers? Linehan was Chambers OC last year and he had 11 td's with Frerotte throwing to him. I don't see how Holt could possibly get downgraded. And I'm pretty positive TO has dealt with nagging injuries much more than Holt if that's what you're implying. Beyond last year, I can't remember any significant time that Holt has missed from injuries. I do believe TO is the # 1 pick this year.....but I upgrade Holt to no lower than top 3 this year for wr's.
  22. Jarvis Basnight

Which wr scores the most this season?

I find it tough to vote against TO. He's a freak and will bust his azz this year. Bledsoe will be looking for him plenty and he's happy enough with his contract to make it happen a year or 2. A couple of years ago I didn't take TO because he was switching to a new team (Philly) with a new QB and that was a mistake on my part. He's going to be the #1 receiver on my list this year. Others... Harrison - I'm a believer that no James = more chances for Harrison. I also think Manning will have a huge year too because of this. Holt - Linehan could give him even better fantasy numbers if that's possible. Smith - I know they've got Key now but Smith is such a weapon once he has the ball, Carolina will keep thinking up new ways to get it to him. Delhomme loves him.

    Packers arguing amongst themselves?

I guarantee you management considers marketability of players. It's not the end of the story. See Mike Vick. See Brian Urlacher. See Allen Iverson. See Kobe Bryant. You don't have to be a winning team for your team to make money and gain publicity.
  24. Jarvis Basnight

    Packers arguing amongst themselves?

Football and the Packers, are a business. A business makes money first and foremost. You need someone to associate with the team. - Brett Favre is the face of the Packers until he retires which could be before the 2006 season starts. - Ahman will never be the face. He's already come and gone. Look at his contract. Expectations are not that high. - Aaron Rogers.....maybe. He looked really comfortable with a clipboard last year though. AJ Hawk would be very marketable as a Green Bay Packer.
