    Packers arguing amongst themselves?

If Favre stays he remains the face of the team they go V. Davis, make the trade with Denver of Walker to the Broncos for Lelie and their 2nd they just picked up from the trade with the 49ers. Then take best LB and best guard available in round 2. Then they'd have Ahman in the backfield, V. Davis and B. Franks in a double TE set to go with Lelie and Driver. Tons of weapons for Favre. If Favre retires they should maybe consider Hawk at 5th to become the new face of the team just like Urlacher is for the Bears. Without a marquee name on the team you can't market yourself nearly as well and can't make as much $$$. Plus, Hawk is the perfect blue collar fit for Green Bay. I'd love to see him in a Packer uniform. Then they could still make the trade of Walker for Lelie and a 2nd rounder to get the best TE and guard available in the 2nd. Yes? No?

    Predict a Bust

Obviously this thread is a bunch of opinions. I'm not questioning Cutler's smarts and I'm sure he has talent. What has he done though to warrant taking him over Leinart? For where he's being projected, I think Cutler's the bust candidate. If I have the choice between the 2 on draft day I don't think twice. Leinart in a landslide.

    Predict a Bust

I think some should stop over-analyzing these guys. It seems that if you talk about these guys enough, you can talk yourself into them being crappy. Leinart has been a winner since getting the starting role at USC. He's played in so many big games and has won most. The guys smart, he's a proven leader, and he's a proven winner. My bust, however, would be Jay Cutler. What has he done to warrant such a high draft position? He's won nothing. Why should a team take him in the top 10? He seems to be getting totally over-hyped.

    Colts Shun Thomas Jones

This sounds like an optimistic Colts fan to me. You may be right....we of course won't know who's right until after the season, but I'd still be much more comfortable with Thomas Jones and still with a 1st round pick than I would with Maroney or Addai. I think Jones would excel in Indy.

    Colts Shun Thomas Jones

True...but there's still a learning curve, especially with the Colts offense. I hope the rookie can learn spastic sign language quickly because else he's going to miss an assignment and the Colt's $100,000,000.00 man will be laying on the carpet unaware of the day and how many fingers the trainer's holding up. Also, if you don't sign the rookie right away you get an even longer learning curve. Cadillac signed and got his butt into camp right away, Benson didn't. We all know what happened with those 2 last year.

    Colts Shun Thomas Jones

Agree with this completely. Colt's offense is built to win now. Actually, it was built a lot better last year. I'm not completely sure what Chicago's asking price would be but Jones contract's cheap, he doesn't have a lot of wear and tear, and he would be much better in 2006 than what the Colt's presently have or if they took a RB in the 1st. Indy could use that #1 pick to get a great LB or D lineman. I think it's a better move than Maroney or Addai. Colt's window's closing. As is, they'll be pretty 1 dimensional this year on offense. Nobody's scared of the present RB's on the roster. I think they're really going to miss James.

Rams new coaching staff wants a legit TE

Not a wasted pick IF he dropped to them at 11 but he won't. They'd have to currently move up to 5th, give away way too much of the future in draft picks, and pay a TE top 5 money. At what point is it a waste to you?

Rams new coaching staff wants a legit TE

Not a Rams fan here, but this seems simple to me.......Take best DB available in the 1st and there will still be a great receiving TE left in the 2nd.....(Lewis, Byrd). They'd get a legit TE without wasting the pick in the 1st.

    NFL Network starting to blow

How? Ask 24/7 news channels like Fox, CNN, or MSNBC. When there's no news to print go out there and make stuff up. Speculate. Over-analyze. Dissect your analysis and then scrutinize it. And when all else fails.....lie your azz off! It's not the news anymore, it's competition! NN

Why the Packers won't take AJ hawk at #5

This is what I'd be considering if I was the Packer brass. Favre will be gone soon....maybe very soon. Who becomes the face of the team when Favre leaves? Aaron Rodgers.....no. Nick Barnett.....ne. Mario Williams.....possibly, but he comes with the price of moving up. AJ Hawk! Definitely. This guy could be the face of this team for years to come. Green Bay fans would be on this guy's jock. He's tough, he's a good leader, he's fast, and he's ugly the way a great linebacker should be. This guy was made for Green Bay. Go after one of the top guards or even a tackle in the 2nd round but take Hawk in the 1st. He'll come at a price since he's a top 5 pick but I believe he'd be a fantastic investment barring injuries. He'd put butts in the seats and sell Packer gear, guaranteed. Blue collar town + Blue collar player = Match made in heaven.
