A pre-combine look at the 2011 Wide Receiver class

with a 4.7 40 yd dash, is Vincent Brown even worth a pick in the top 3 rounds of a rookie draft?
  2. What is the deal?

    Jay Cutler

I'll give you Elway's leadership, but I'm not sure he displayed all of those characteristics this early in his career. Experience can breed leadership. Cutler has plenty of time to mature and develop. I guess where we disagree is that I believe a lot of the mistakes he makes is due to his immaturity and feel that he can grow as a player. As he works hard during the offseason (word his Royal, Marshall, Scheffler, and Cutler were already working out together), I believe that he has the potential to become as good as Elway or close to it. That's what my point is- I don't think we have seen the best of Jay. It's way too early to say that he is the most overrated QB, and I also believe it's foolish to try to trade him at this point in his career.a Either way, he can win ball games for them if they put together a defense. The last 2 years, their defense has been absolutely horrendous and only guys like Peyton Manning can win consistently with that bad of D. McDaniels needs to nut up and develop the guy rather than tear him down by trying to trade him
  3. What is the deal?

    Jay Cutler

Cutler can only get better. He's only started for 2 full seasons. Including one where he had diabetes and didn't even know it. Do me a favor and compare Cutler's numbers to Elways 1st 2.5 years. Here, I'll help you out: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/E/ElwaJo00.htm http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/CutlJa00.htm really, the only statistic that Elway beats him on his record. That's because Karl Mecklenburg and Co. actually put together a tough D. 2nd in points allowed Elway's 1st full season starting, 11th in points allowed his 2nd full year starting no reason to even consider trading this guy. Find ways to get him to mature and make better decisions. Then you end up with a perennial MVP candidate. They should be focused on putting a D together so they can take advantage of all that offense

Ranking the rookies for this years Dynasty Drafts?

this is my thoughts at this moment, but it changes daily and anybody in any given tier could be rearranged (PPR league) 1) Mendenhall 2) McDaddy (would be 3 if Stewarts wasn't injured) 3) Stewart (too much upside, i'll overlook injury here) 4) Chris Johnson (I see a Bush like role for him, non-PPR knock him down to the bottom of this tier) 5) Ray Rice (could just easily be 5, safe consistent option) 6) Jamaal Charles (upside galore) 7) Felix Jones (see Charles) 8) Forte 9) T. Choice 10) K. Smith 11) J. Hardy 12) L. Sweed 13) M. Kelly 14) D. Thomas 15) S. Slaton 16) J. Forsett 17) M. Hart 18) A. Caldwell 19) M. Manningham 20) E. Doucet 21) T. Brown 22) C. Boyd (RB SC) 23) BGE 24) D. Jackson 25) L. Hawkins 26) Brohm 27) E. Bennett 28) J. Nelson 29) Hester (based on the chance he gets a chance at RB) 30) X. Omon 31) Keller 32) Flacco 33) Henne 34) J. Johnson qb 35) E. Royal 36) D. Avery 37) F. Davis 38) A. Patrick 39) Parmele 40) Torain 41) M. Thomas 42) D. Savage deep deep sleeper- Danny Woodhead This is my rough draft...a little light on TE's and don't plan on drafting any of the QB's...
  5. What is the deal?

    Pierre Thomas = Super Sleeper?

they have almost nothing in common besides playing RB and being in the same league
  6. What is the deal?

    Steve Smith?

yep, misuse of the quote function my bad. I agree with what Doc Oc said, even if that play was SS2's fault still shouldn't judge a rookie by 1 play.
  7. What is the deal?

    Steve Smith?

what a retarded post. Smith changed direction and Eli threw a heat rock from 6 yards away that happened to bounce off his hands. It's ridiculous to blame that pick on Steve Smith. While he could have caught the ball it would have had to be an amazing catch considering the velocity and short distance

my theory is along those same lines Moose also has said that he doesn't have a problem with Mike I agree with Hyrgeek, this thread has taken a downturn. Somebody think of some more bad sh!t to say about foolball scrotum

    2008 Free Agent RB

Ladell Betts is one of the best back-up RB's in the league. While Washington may take a flier on a RB if the value is right, RB is not a position they need to address. The only thing they need to worry about in the backfield is replacing Rock Cartwright's 25 ST tackles and 25 yds per KR.

I think Moose was just too lazy to post the links cause it takes a second. Who can blame him really? When you are posting 70 articles a day on multiple message boards, that extra minute it takes to copy and paste the link adds up. I also thinks he has a feed of the pressers and what not, and that becomes public knowledge once it is released I believe (but I'm not a copyright law guy) anyways, I never saw any Mod publicly ask him for a link. I didn't see what was going on behind the scenes and I have a few theories of what actually happened that I am not going to share at this time because I do like coming here, hoping the atmosphere will change back eventually. I think what a lot of the FFToday regulars are missing is that almost everyone at FFLW was a poster or lurker here. We all enjoyed that 'old' FFToday atmosphere and spent a lot of time here. Our complaints are legitimate and I don't think anyone can deny that trolls have taken over this board. I'd personally like to see it back to where we are at. I'll continue to post on both of these boards, as well as FBG's, Cafe, and some others and I encourage everyone to utilize as many sources as possible. In the end, I'd like to see FFtoday go back to being one of the 1st stops on my list rather than the one I go to 'when I'm bored' Until things change a bit, that's where it will be. Hyrgeek, you are a clown. That rant was hilarious. Glad to see you back around the boards

come on now, saying that makes you look clueless you won't be talking 9er football with me, they suck. I'm an Eagles fan...
  14. What is the deal?

    2008 Free Agent WR

Berrian will be expensive cause he's the #1 WR in this class (assuming Pats give Moss an extension). Berrian will likely be overpaid, but he may provide dividends If I was a Packer fan, I wouldn't even be considering a WR. That is their deepest position. Ruvell Martin even played well as their #4/5 guy
  15. What is the deal?

Jacobs or Bradshaw next season ?

yeah, Ward may get a 3rd round tender but I doubt it...I just can't see putting a lot of money into an injury prone guy. Then again, he played well and could be worth a mil a year and roster spot just as injury insurance. Maybe they let Droughns walk
  16. What is the deal?

    2008 Free Agent RB

some needs that haven't been mentioned: The Colts will probably be looking for a back-up to Addai as well Eagles will need somebody to eventually replace Westbrook (Chris Johnson anyone?) Chargers will be going after a back-up to LT and possibly eventual replacement Ravens will also need a back-up to McGahee Browns will be looking for the future guy and maybe more if they don't re-sign Jamal Titans situation doesn't seem that great either. White played well, but Stewart or Mendenhall would be a huge upgrade Broncos- Henry due a lot of money...Selvin Young better suited for COP role Chiefs- Kolby Smith looked adequate, but they could easily find an upgrade. Depends on what they thing of Jackie Battle I guess Oakland- Michael Bush has proven nothing. Rhodes isn't anything more than a 3rd down back. Jordan might as well be added to the FA list with the money he's due. Dallas- needs to replace JJ Bucs- Is Caddy's career over? Can they depend on Graham? Pittman is out the door, but Darby is waiting in the wings? There are going to plenty of roster spots for these free agents and rookies. Should be an interesting offseason at the RB position
  17. What is the deal?

    2008 Free Agent WR

somebody needs to tell the author of this article that DJ Hackett is much better than a lot of those guys he featured. My wish list for the Eagles who need more weapons at WR: 1) Berrian 2) Hackett i think Berrian could do some damage playing with McNabb. Curtis could move to the slot where he belongs. Berrian makes amazing catches and could be dangerous if he plays with a consistent QB
  18. What is the deal?

Jacobs or Bradshaw next season ?

Jacobs is the starter, Bradshaw is the COP. I thought it was interesting that Jacobs played most of the passing downs (if nobody else noticed). I'd like to see him get involved in the passing game a little more because DB's can't bring him down 1 on 1. My prediction would be 60/40 anyone mentioning Ward must be confused. Almost no way Giants re-sign him unless he takes a vet min contract. Not enough roster spots when you account for Droughns, Bradshaw, and Jacobs on the active roster. They also have Danny Ware who showed glimpses of being a dynamic back early on at Georgia. Similar story to Ward- claimed of NYJets PS...can you imagine if they also had Ryan Grant?

why would a thread be started about scooter if nobody misses him?

    LBHs dynasty WR rankings

I'm just not sure what would happen with Moss not beside him. Then he becomes the focal part of the defense because he's the next best player. I just don't see Welker beating double teams if Moss isn't lining up on the side of him...I guess it depends on how long you'll think Moss will be in Foxboro to draw the double teams...and while I just don't see them not ponying up the cash for Moss after his record breaking season, it's possible they do everything the can to sign him and he may take a discount. I'd like to see Moss's contract situation get settled before mentioning Welker among the solid #1 WR's throughout the league. I guess another argument with Stokley is that he was derailed by injury. He's still proving that he can be a quality player. In the end, when drafting Welker I also see limited upside. He's never going to be that 1500 and 15 TD guy. I'd rather have a Dwayne Bowe or CJ21 that have the potential to have a few of those seasons.

me?? You are a main part of the problem with this site. Try doing something else besides trolling.
  22. What is the deal?

    LBHs dynasty WR rankings

only problem i have is Welker. We saw Stokley's amazing season a few years ago, but a slot guy just can't be relied upon to produce consistently and I consider them both similar players with Welker a slight upgrade. I also may be a little higher on Bowe and CJ21. Just because I value that 'upside' a little more.

I don't misrepresent anybody. I wanted to make it clear that I am not 'associated' with FFLW outside of being a frequent poster after somebody said I was one of the founding fathers or some nonsense. I don't worship either of those guys, but I think even you can admit that they benefit any fantasy football community they are a part of. I thought we were through as well and my discussion continued on as other people decided to take up an argument with me. I don't have a problem with you or FFToday. My main problem was the untrue accusations that FFLW is run by nazis and what I consider unequal treatment of certain posters here. I've said many times this site has value despite making decisions I don't agree with and agreed that some may appreciate it more than others. It all depends on what you are looking for. I think we share similar passion for our 'favorite' sites. I'll be back and we'll talk some football here and there as I have said many times there is still value in FFtoday despite it's shortcomings just like every other free site on the net.
