  1. Morris is a no-brainer starter. Jackson and Wilson are both good, and it's almost a coin flip. I'd lean towards Jackson, from the logic that the Falcons have a better all-round offense, and having a excellent passing game is going to take pressure of the running game. But I don't think going with Wilson would be a mistake.

Loking for some opinions at QB

Grrr.. that should have read "Looking" for some opinions...
  3. Guys, I'm in a rough spot this week, QB-wise. Here are my options: Jay Cutler @ Dallas Carson Palmer vs Baltimore Josh Freeman @ Carolina (it's a keeper league. I picked him up as a late round flier) Ugh. 6pt TDs, -2pt INT, 1pt/20 PaYd Waiver pickups are free, but this is a fairly deep league, so my options are somewhat slim. Off the top, the best available waiver QBs are: Dennis Dixon, Matt Cassel, Matt Moore, and Shaun Hill. And to top it all off, Baltimore is my defense, making me doubly leery of starting Palmer: I hate to start two players who will take points away from each other. Though, I could conceivably grab another D with a decent match up if Palmer is my best bet (Denver vs Seattle is still available). What do you guys think is my best move here?

    Favre or Palmer for Week#1

Yeah, I'd go Palmer on this one. I'm leery of the Vikings passing game this year, especially with Rice down. As has been stated, Palmer has a lot of weapons around him this year, and the Pats D isn't what it used to be.

    Boldin or Dez week 1

    Boldin.

    Which QB do I start?

Thanks for the input, guys. It's pretty much what I thought, but I needed to hear it from someone else. As you can see, I sort of punted on the QB position. The draft was really bizarre: all the elite QBs were gone before the end of the 2nd round (Brees, Peyton, Brady, Rivers, Romo, Schaub)(and it's a keeper league, so Brady and Rivers were off the board to begin with). When that happened, I was staring at a bunch of more-or-less similar players, so I punted: I had a TE before I drafted either QB, and I drafted them both in back-to-back rounds, figuring to play the who-will-do-better-oops-I-guessed-wrong game. It'll be an interesting year.

    Which QB do I start?

So my team is a shade weak at QB. Who would you start this week? Carson Palmer vs NE Jay Cutler vs DET My gut is to start Cutler vs a weak DET D, but his inclination for turnovers makes me nervous. Oh, our scoring system: 6pt TDs, -2pt INT, 1pt/20yards. Thanks.

    Advice on Starters

I like Anderson vs STL, based purely on the match up. I like ATL vs PIT on defense. I think that the Steelers are going to struggle until Big Ben comes back. Dixon isn't going to strike too much fear.
  9. I'm in a keeper league that requires us to turn in our keepers in a few days. Standard scoring, minor ppr (1/5). Keepers cost you the draft round in which they were last selected (and they can only be out of the draft pool for 3 seasons). With Leon Washington's trade to Seattle, what's his relative value? My initial plan was to keep LeSean McCoy(8th), Steve Smith NYG (13th), and Pierre Thomas (17th). However, I've got Washington on my roster as a 9th rounder. Anyone think he's worth keeping?
  10. The mantra for keeper leagues is "value for draft round". As you said, Ray Rice as a 5th rounder is an excellent value, so he's the obvious choice. I was going to spout off some advice, until I went back and reread your message. Can we assume that your league starts more than 5 positions? It sounds like something that should be obvious, but I've seen enough leagues with non-standard lineups that I take nothing for granted anymore. Presuming you have more than 5 starting positions, then I would say that Benson is the better deal. He's a reasonable flex player, and freeing your 1st round pick will let you spend your first few draft rounds going after your #2 RB and/or a #1 WR or two. Or QB, if you swing that way.
  11. Presuming that the players cost you the draft picks indicated, I agree with the crowd that you have to keep Charles and Austin. A.Johnson and Rogers are excellent players, but I've learned the hard way that giving up your early round draft picks in a keeper league is to be avoid if you can help it. You'll get two quality players to build on that will cost you practically nothing.

    Who would you have?

You probably can't go wrong with either. I'd stick with the hot hand and go with Sims-Walker.
  13. I've got a flex spot to fill this week. In a yardage heavy league (1/10 receiving/rushing, 4pt TDs all around, 1 pt/7 receptions), who would you go with? Jerricho Cotchery Santana Moss LeSean McCoy Marshawn Lynch Cotchery has been pretty consistent thus far. Moss has run hot and cold. McCoy is behind Westbrook, but capable of great things. Lynch is in that mess with Fred Jackson. Who would you start?

Worst I've felt after a draft

I'm not seeing anything wrong with what you got here. You have obvious starters at RB, WR, and TE. Your depth is good with sleeper potential: personally, I like Rice and Morgan. The only shaky bit I see is QB: Palmer is the obvious starter, but I'd be nervous of the injury thing. Cutler is a question mark: he has talent, but we'll see how he does in chi-town.

The Post Draft glow has worn off..

I should have mentioned: 12 man league.
