Last Minute Line-Up Changes! Post Yours!
scrotch replied to Kingstowne Dealers's topic in FFToday Board
I have been debating for the last day and a half on who to start: Donald Driver or Greg Jennings. I'll probably go with Jennings, but I've got a great feeling about Driver this week too. I need to trade one of them, because I'll probably have to make this decision every week -
I used Chargers/Eagles/Ravens/Colts/Panthers/Broncos So this week I think I'm rolling with the Jaguars. I considered using New England but I think I can save them for later. If I was feeling risky I might go with the Cardinals this week over the Raiders, but it is at Oakland, which makes me a little hesitant. Also I've already used the Raiders matchup 3 times this season, they have to win a game sometime.

Thanks to bye week hell and no Chester Taylor I reluctantly started Travis Henry. Thank God for bye week hell! I didn't realize until I saw the stats on (I think) NBC that the Redskins defense was so bad. They were in the bottom in nearly every category. I can't wait till week 8 when he plays the Texans.

I wonder if the officials ever considered that Larry couldn't get his hands out of that tangled mess.

He's scored 5 TDs in 6 weeks. He's only had one bad game (against GB). The other time he didn't score he went over 100 yards. He seems pretty consistent regardless if Dante is in their or not. I mean he shouldn't blow up every week like he did vs the Saints. But he should be in your starting lineup until he proves that he shouldn't.

What happened yesterday, that shoudn't have

The fact that Troy Polamolu's hair is apparently untouchable during a game. If I was a RB I would just grow my hair down to my feet so no one could tackle me without touching my hair. I always thought the long hair was considered part of the uniform... -
The Colts actually won the time of posession battle by about 7 minutes. The Titans D played good. The Titans seemed to matchup with the Colts very well for the first time. The Titans have hung close with teams they play every year (like the Dolphins and Colts) and have gotten completely routed by teams that are unfamiliar (San Diego and Dallas). I would be a little hesitant starting Brunell, just because the Washington run game should be very efficient, TN can't stop anyone running the ball. Brunell is a very tricky player to project, he's so hot and cold.

I guess grammar isn't your strong suit? OR not ARE

Well he did say he started Plummer because he was on MNF and he could talk about him...I think he usually tries to start a few guys who are on MNF. Still dropping McNabb...WTF...
-
The only one the 49ers couldn't stop? I think a lot of people are forgetting that Lamont Jordan averaged nearly 6 yards a carry.
-
One thing that Foster owners had to be happy about last week, was that DeAngelo Williams did not cut into his workload during the game. He still managed over 3 yards a carry, but the entire Carolina offense was in shambles. Now Carolina's Center Hartwig is questionable, I don't know how much that affects Foster, but as the number one back in Carolina, he has to have some value as soon as Carolina gets back on track. I would start him (if I had him) this week.

The Bennett/Volek combination is a dangerous deep threat already. He should be a capable deep threat regardless. Still I'd have to go with Walker just based on the fact that the Titans QB situation is as unstable as it gets at the moment.

Derrick Mason certainly suffers from no such disease...

Is anyone's favorite player *not* on your favorite team?
scrotch replied to pook187's topic in FFToday Board
Usually my favorite players tend to change every year to conincide with the people on my fantasy team. RUDI! RUDI! RUDI! -
the only positive Travis Henry has ever accomplished in Tennessee is on a drug test

CBS Sportline reporting Henry #1 back on opening day.
scrotch replied to joeH's topic in FFToday Board
Somebody on the Titanscentral.net boards just posted that Jeff Fisher said that Chris Brown is the starter on opening day on the Jeff Fisher radio show. I personally didn't hear it, but I think it's accurate. -
The only one I think is worth listening to is The Fantasy Football Guys The Fantasy Football Roundtable is ok, but nothing spectacular.

How does adding a RB/WR change your draft outlook
scrotch replied to Jamy_Z's topic in FFToday Board
To me, it's always ideal to start a RB in that slot, just because they are much more consistent with touches. I would think RBs would be at an even higher premium. A RB3 will, more times than not, outscore a WR3, at any given Sunday. A lot of times, during bye weeks though, you'll be forced to start receivers...of course so will all the other guys... -
I could definitely see him gaining 1000 total yards, but every interview you see with Jeff Fisher lately has him talking about being recommited to the run, so it leaves me hopeful that he could reach 1000 rushing yards, the real question is TDs. Everyone assumes that Lendale would be used on the goal line, but that has not been his role in training camp or in the preseason games. I would expect Chris to atleast achieve last year's TD totals of 7, but hopefully he can do better. It's really hard to predict how the Titans backfield will shake out, but I think at Brown's current ADP, he's a steal.

I listened to the people on this board and the guys at FFToday, and I waited till late and drafted Ben Watson as my #1 TE. I hope it pays off. I'm pretty hyped up about him, not stupidly so though. I did back him up with Ben Troupe a few rounds later. I hope I look like a genious in the end. How excited are you about the emergence of Ben Watson this year? Do you guys think that the lack of any receiving playmakers elevates Watson's status in New England even more? Where do you see him finishing this year amongst TEs, top 5? 10?
-
Without going back and checking, I believe I picked him up in the 11th or 12th. Usually I ALWAYS draft a TE by the 8th, but I tried something different this year. I think one of the reasons he lasted so late is because this was a 2 QB league, so QBs were at a premium in the middle rounds. Still there were several TEs taken above him. I followed that up with Troupe in the 14th round.
-
Is there any Watson skeptics out there? I honestly haven't heard much bad about him on here...
-
I'm picking 9th in a 12 teamer. I've been back and forth, but I think I've weedled it down to 2 players. Torry Holt or Brian Westbrook. I'm leaning toward Westbrook right now, though it could all change. Westy is a bit risky (he's a little banged up right now), but I think they're keeping him out for the rest of the preseason, just as precaution more than necessity. Westbrook could have a huge year IMO. I'm not certain that Westbrook will fall to me, but if he doesn't I'm 90% that Torry Holt will fall to me and I'll just take him.
