    Post Your Champoinship Roster

12 Team IDP, and I'll be in the Title game next week. I have one of the least dominant teams I've seen on here so far, but my defense is tops in the league. Philip Rivers Steven Jackson Lesean McCoy BJGE Chad Ochocinco Santana Moss Calvin Johnson Vernon Davis Mason Crosby Jared Allen John Abraham Brian Urlacher Lance Briggs London Fletcher Michael Griffin Tramon Williams

    INTs on 2 Point Conversions

Nope. It doesn't. The only thing that goes in the stats is if they made it or not. For instance if he wouldn've made it he wouldn't have gotten 2 passing yards, or if Michael Turner would've ran it in he wouldn't have got 2 rushing yards. They only would've got a 2 point conversion.

    Tricky situation...

In our CBS IDP league we have a weird situation that came up yesterday. We had two close games change outcomes on Wednesday night. Originally CBS had Charles Tillman (CHI) with a forced fumble and fumble recovery, and yesterday took it away and gave a forced fumble to Lance Briggs and a fumble recovery to Brian Urlacher. Now as a dedicated commish I did some digging and found very conflicting reports for instance if you go here it has Briggs and Urlacher with the FF/FR http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2010110704/2010/REG9/bears@bills#tab:analyze But if you go here it has Tillman with the FR and doesn't mention Briggs/Urlacher at all. http://www.chicagobears.com/team/gamebox.asp?game_id=633689&bears=Y and if you go here it talks about Tillman stripping Fred Jackson and recovering the fumble in the post game report. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-1108-bears-bills-chicago--20101107,0,6093462.story Anyways I guess I'm looking for someone who was actually watching the game to set me straight here.

    Tenn Defense Week 4

Jason McCourty is a 2nd year player. I think the Titans are a good play this weekend. Remember the Titans have given up only 3 TDs in 3 games this season, they have decent sack numbers and turnovers as well. The Giants did move the ball but a lot of those yards came when the game was already in hand.

    Vince Young

Today wasn't his best day throwing the ball this season, but he threw 3 beautiful TD passes (a career high). He also recovered quickly from an early interception. 7-1 since he took over. I'm looking forward to going to LP Field for the game Christmas night.

    Winslow

Hard to tell. I had to pick up Rosario on the Sunday night game just in case he can't go. Hopefully something more concrete comes out later today about Winslow.
  8. They weren't calling deep passses up 33-7. I think that's the big difference in my opinion. You didn't see the Titans calling a 50 yard post with 30 seconds left like the Pats did against the Jets. And like someone said the Titans aren't quite as hated as New England. They were pretty much just running the ball. Jeff wants CJ to get the record. And there are a few Titans fans on this board (me, MicktheGreat, jocstrap, oldschool a few others) we just aren't quite as annoying . And we probably don't post as much.

The Chris Johnson 2,000 rushing yard thread

He's already had a couple of those against Houston and Jacksonville. I think he could have one more 200 yarder against the Rams and maybe the Dolphins or Seahawks. I think 2000 is very likely...given his schedule. The real question is can he make it to 2106?

    Does Chris Johnson Smoke Crack?

I could be wrong, but I remember somebody saying after the Titans drafted him that he had spinal surgery when he was a kid, and has had this twitch ever since...

    Titans @ Texans

86 yards in the first half and you're complaining?

Anyone rolling with Chris Chambers today?

I started him in a league as a spot start. Really pleased with his performance today, but it looked like he could've lowered his head and got into the endzone in OT if he wanted.

The Vince Young Hype in Crazy

The Vince Young Hype in Crazy

I agree. The Titans want to play good defense and run the football. What you can't seem to grasp is that Vince opens up the running game. Fact is CJ is going insaaane these last few weeks because the defense is trying to account for both Vince and CJ at the same time. CJ is too good a RB not to take advantage of the defense being a man down. Vince's passing is still a work in progress. But look at his numbers this year. Specifically his completion percentage (76%), YPA (8.2), and turnovers (1) thru these last 3 games. Fisher even said that this is the first time since Steve McNair that the Titans have had a QB have 3 straight games w/ a QB rating of 90 or above. How you can't say he's improved is beyond me. He's can still improve there for sure. But the fact is he is simply making better decisions with the football than he has at any point in his entire career. Bottom line is he's the best QB for the Titans this year.
  16. Even if they did run the table, losing the first 6 games all to AFC teams will kill them in tiebreakers.

The Vince Young Hype in Crazy

I've posted several times in a few other VY threads. It seems like it's hard to have a rational discussion about his football ability without people making jokes about suicide attempts and wonderlics. But I've come to accept it, and I'll share my thought on the last 3 games with Vince. For those that have watched the game, he's obviously improved after his time on the bench. He'll still have some terrible games. But I see him making better decisions passing, and he's much more decisive running as well. I don't see the tenativeness and the hesitation that I saw in 2007. He's looking confident as well. And for those who claim they have dumbed down the playbook, well thank god. Our complex routes and offense didn't do ###### for us the first 6 games of the season. I've also seen several new plays the last three weeks a lot of fakes, options, bootlegs, so the playbook has definitely expanded somewhat. As far as the record argument goes. In 2006 Vince was winning games single-handedly for the Titans. He had the 32nd ranked defense, and no receivers to speak of. In 2007 he definitely regressed. But consider this, he was throwing to Eric Moulds, Roydell Williams, Brandon Jones, and a developing Justin Gage. He also had the most un-explosive starting RB in the NFL that year in Lendale White. I'm just not sure that many QBs (aside from Peyton, Brady,Brees) would've had much success in that situation. And obviously in 2008 he played all of 3 quarters with perhaps the most dynamic player in Titans history (CJ man) before ending his season. People point to CJ as the biggest reason for Vince's success this year, and I think that's true to an extent. Vince has also had a positive impact on CJ as well. Dungy has already broke it down on tape, Vince's presence is opening up cutback lanes for Johnson. They are both having a positive effect on each other, which is good for the Titans offense. As for his effect on the defense. While it's foolish to say Vince creates turnovers for the defense, I will say that the Titans have had more sustained offensive drives in the last 3 games, than they did in the first 6 combined. With Kerry "3 and out" Collins at the helm, the defense was constantly on the field and getting exposed. As someone said earlier, the guy is one of the most polarizing figures in the NFL. I'll agree that his ability lies somewhere in between the people who say he's awful and the people who think he's the greatest of all time. I'm not convinced that he's the future Titans QB, but it's nice to see some improvement in his game. Looking forward to Monday Night.

    Will Clark break TE records?

at this point I don't know that he should even be considered a TE. Seems like he lines up in the slot 90% of the time.

    Vince Young

Another week, another win for VY. I said after last week I was going to wait a few weeks until I (and the Titans) made up my mind on him. So far he just seems to make better decisions with the football than he used to. Nothing earth-shattering numbers wise but in a run-first offense the #'s won't be there every week. For those that watched the game, he made a few nice deep throws today too (which he didn't do last week). You can't help but be encouraged but once again I'll take a wait-and-see approach with him. As I said earlier though Vince's presence is continuing to have a positive influence on CJ. For one thing the Titans have become a run-focused team, giving CJ more carries (career high today), and Vince's rushing threat will create mismatches and CJ is too fast and good in space to not take advantage of that. After Lendale leaves via free agency we may be talking about CJ the #1 overall pick next season...

    Vince Young

As a Titans fan this game was all about Chris Johnson. However, Vince Young showed me something he rarely ever did in 2006-07. He was efficient with the number of throws he made. He made one bad throw at the beginning (almost intercepted in the endzone) and underthrew CJ on a dumpoff, but aside from that he was the most accurate I've ever seen him. 15/18 is amazing given his history. Obviously they didn't need him that much yesterday, but you can't help but be atleast a little excited about the future. I'll wait till they play a few tougher teams though... And Tony Dungy made a good point on Football Night in America. He said that VY was opening up cutback lanes for Chris Johnson because Jax was worried about VY getting out of the pocket and on the edge. We'll see in the next few games if this continues to happen, but since this is a fantasy football forum, perhaps CJ just saw his value increase a little?

Who thinks MJD is better than Adrian Peterson

As a Titans fan, I'd say Maurice is the RB with the least weaknesses. AD needs to work on his hands and receiving out of the backfield in general. He was also injury prone in college, though he's done enough to shed that label over the last 2 years I would say. CJ is not great at running between the tackles and he takes too many negative yardage plays. Now obviously their positives make them off the chart good, but there are still things they can work on. I'm looking at MJD and I'm having trouble finding an obvious weakness. Power? Speed? Breaks tackles? Hands? Consistency? Injury prone? MJD has it all. The only thing MJD has going against him is his crappy team. AD has an all-world O-line and CJ's is above average. The fact that MJD only got 8 carries today should tell you all you need to know about how he is being (mis)used. You could say that MJD doesn't have AD's power, or CJ's speed, but I think he's the best overall runner in the game.

    VY today

I don't see Tim Tebow as a dual threat QB. He will not run on anybody in the pros. He doesn't have good speed and nobody fears him getting to the edge. If Tebow wants to succeed in the NFL at QB, he better work on becoming a pocket passer.

    Tennessee Titans Suck..

As a Titans fan, they hardly suck. Every game has come down to the final posession. It's weird because the little things that went the Titans way last season all have been going against us this year. That's just football I guess. I love Jeff Fisher and would prefer him to most any coach in the league. His teams are always competitive even with way less talent. BUT he made one critical mistake this season: assuming our return units would be ok with our rooks. They let Chris Carr walk (big mistake), bring Mark Jones in and then cut him before the season (big mistake). Mouton cost us this game. Kerry Collins has looked overmatched trying to come back in games as well. Kerry is what he is. Last year the Titans would run up a lead w/ Smash and Dash and the defense would clamp down and Kerry would manage the game. If the Titans get a big lead, he won't cost us the game. But having Collins trying to come back from behind is not working. I really thought the defense played great today. Take away Mouton's gift wrapped TDs and they only gave up 10 points. And they held the "3rd Down Wizard" Mark Sanchez to 28% 3rd down efficiency. But they can only do so well with an lead weight dragging them down. Nick Harper is done. DONE. I would love to see the completion percentage and yardage against this chump. Mouton needs a shot at CB. Frustrating year so far, mainly because the Titans are just a few plays from being 3-0.

    Thoughts on Britt?

If he keeps on putting up performances like that TN will have to get him on the field. Aside from the ball he didn't come back and fight for (Polamolu INT) he looked great.

    Overtime is lame in NFL!

I like it most of the time, but being a Titans fan I hated it last night. Our defense was already tired at the end of the game, and losing the toss was devastating. I still think it's the best system out there though. A team needs to be able to rely on their defense to make a stop when it counts. Whether that's at the end of the game or in overtime it doesn't matter.
