Yeah this class of QBs leaves a lot to be desired. Word has it that there will be 2 QBs.go in the 1st round with a possible 3rd one drafted. Consensus has Cam Ward being the first taken by the NY Giants and Shadeur Sanders going to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Titans and Browns have the first 2 picks and could really throw a monkey wrench into the whole draft. Not like that the Titans and Browns take Ward and Sanders at 1 & 2 but we know stranger things have happened. One name mentioned to possibly sneak into the 1st round is Jaxson Dart being drafted by the Steelers at 21. Possible as they're not sure how much Wilson has left in the tank and do they really want to rely on Justin Fields? I say 2 QBs go in the first round and.likely 3 to 5 going in day 2. After QB Dart there's Quinn Ewers, Jalen Milroe, Will Howard (of the national champs) and Riley Leonard. Of those just mentioned I think I'd favor Jalen Milroe as I feel he's pretty close to a dual threat QB. Yet I don't see any of them other than Ward and Sanders that will end up being franchise QBs to whatever team drafts them. Teams needy at QB could swing for the fences with a day 2 QB. Jets or the Saints could take one of them in the 2nd or 3rd round risking it. Couple of the teams could really look hard at acquiring Sam Darnold and which team wins that sweepstakes. Who would go after Aaron Rodgers if he even decides to play? Overall not a good QB class but the Giants and Raiders will.surely try to get a QB with their 1st pick.

GAINWELL had 75 carries for 290 yds. and 1 touchdown plus added 16 receptions for 116 yds. and no touchdowns. He doesn't really represent any value unless Barkley misses time. He doesn't get enough touches to have any stand alone value and only useful.as I said if Barkley misses time. I wouldn't grab him as a handcuff. There'd be other backs available that would give you more value than Gainwell. If you're looking to add RB depth I'd look to get someone other than Gainwell. There should be some other rb's that would be a handcuff to some lead backs that miss time or have injury history that would serve you better.

Ravens are going to have to cut Kicking legend Justin Tucker
DocNiner replied to nobody's topic in FFToday Board
Certainly I agree with you that he's a better QB than Watson as Deshaun has really fell off the map. The Browns should try to.figure out a way to part ways with Watson because even if he shows.up.healthy next season.his days of puttjng.up numbers he did in Houston are long gone. While I still would like to get all the facts on both sides of the Tucker saga I.think the damage is already done even if he's found innocent. In all likelihood regardless of how good he's been in the past for the Ravens I say they parts ways with him also like Watson. Just never got why there's some knuckleheads in the NFL that seem to find ways to sabotage their careers. Guess they figure that the big bucks they get make them invincible and do pretty much what they want with no consequences. Not sorry for Tucker but certainly sorry for his family and close friends. -
Ravens are going to have to cut Kicking legend Justin Tucker
DocNiner replied to nobody's topic in FFToday Board
Looks like some of these allegations happened some time ago and just now coming out. I'm not ready to convict him yet until all the facts are in but it does seem he's already been convicted in the court of public opinion. Are these women just looking to cash in on a player with assumed inappropriate behavior? Could it be the allegations are.some of the cause of Tucker having a rough year kicking wise? It's possible. Even if these events turn out to be nothing it will surely affect Tucker going forward and his tenure with the Ravens. Their front office will undoubtedly address it but may not do anything until it completely plays out. I think there's some truth to some of the allegations and other women jumped on board the bandwagon. After all is said and done even if he's found innocent his time in Baltimore could be in question. -
Agree, he'll go early in round 1. Probably top 5.with trams that need a QB. QB S. SANDERS, has some upside but not sure he's a franchise QB. He'll.go 1st round as well on name recognition of his daddy, Prime Time Deion.Sanders. Must be something.in the blood, lol.

First of the conference championships this oming Sunday pits the Washington Commanders against the Philadelphis Eagles. Certai Commanders are a Cinderella story this year off the play of their rookie QB Jayden Daniel's. Does their historic rise to the NFC title game end this Sunday? I say not. It will no doubt be a daunting task to beat the Eagles but it's a task I think they can complete. Daniel's is playing at.a phenomenal level but so is Saquone Barkley. Given the state of Washjngton's defense I think they're not going to stop Barkley from turning in another 100 plus scrimmage yards and very possible of another 2 touchdown game. The best the Commanders can do is try to limit Barkley somewhat but he's.gonna get his. Thar said can Daniel's get his? I think that is also possible but I feel Wasshington is gonna have to match points with Philly. Eagles defense has been playing well in the playoffs but if the Commanders are going to have a chance then Kliff Kingsbury is gonna have to work some magic of his own. Commanders are gonna have to have some long drives to keep the Eagles offense off the field as.much as possible. Not.sure what the weather.will be like but if it's nasty outside then that'll work in the Eagles favor. So, I'd.like tossed what you guys think for how the Commanders can escape Philly with a win and a trip to the Superbowl.

Vrabel is the right hire for the Patriots partly because of his familiarity with the organization and he's proven he can win as a head coach. He'll be good as well for QB Drake Mayes development. Talk all around of possibly trying to hire Josh MccDaniels as Iffensive Co-ordinator. I think that could be a prudent move plus.the success.he had there previously. Granted he had Tom.Brady and Drake Maye is no Brady, at least not yet and highly unlikely he does what Brady did. McDamiels.will.be good for the young QB. They surely have some big holes that need addressed but Vrable should have an impact on deciding what players they want to target and I'm sure wide receiver will be high up on the list. They'll need to get players who'll.help Maye develop. Overall hiring Vrable is a step.in the right direction for getting this team to playing.winning football so things should be looking up for all the PATS fans.

Yeah, his last couple of games were like shades of the past when he was with the Jets and Panthers. Not a great start for his career on those two teams. Didn't play much at San Fran but I think he learned quite a bit about football and himself which helped him when he went to the Vikes. He played pretty darn good for most of the season and was.setting himself up for a nice payday next year. Now any yeam interested in him will probably think a little more serious about his worth. Having the weapons he's had in Minnesota certainly helped his game but after the last 2 games you gotta wonder is he regressing back to his old self when with the Jets and Panthers. I'm thinking the pressure to succeed the last 2 games has shaken his confidence. I hope not. He does have some talent but if the game is affecting him between the ears.I don't think his future will be all that good. We'll see but a lot of playing good at QB is mental and I wonder if he'll be able to get a grasp on it.

Yes, he can be a relevant fantasy stud for 2025. Yes, he's 31 but I'd take him over a lot of other rbs that are younger than him. He may lose some burst but his power will still be there and with Lamar also toting the rock Henry won't be forced to carry the rock 35 plus times a game. He can still produce with even less than 26 carries a game. He may not win you a league championship but he'll definitely produce enough to be an RB1 on your roster.

Yeah GIBBS was phenomenal this year. Surely Montgomery will be back in the fold next year and eat into Gibbs touches but I think Campbell.and his coaches will find.a way.to give Gibbs the ball more next year. I don't think he's.a.back that can handle bellcow duties the whole season so it'll be interesting to see what the split will be between the 2 backs. I also think Gibbs still merits consideration of being a top 5 pick in drafts.next.year.even with Mknty getting.touches. I think he'll have better production, if that's possible, in the 2025 season. Yeah, looking at other players going high in the first round GIBBS may not be a top 5 pick but he certainly should be picked in the top 10. Even with Monty likely back next year Gibbs receiving ability makes him a top 5 runningback IMO. I think he'll be a lock for over 1,500 total scrimmage yards in 2025.

RB CHRISTIAN McCAFFREY, LOL!! Just a Homer pick. I'd have to say that you could be right in either Barkley going #1 or Chase going #1. Given the fact that Barkley also gets receptions I'm leaning on him going #1. Still I don't think he'll.sniff 2,000 yds next year but definitely over 2,000 scrimmage yards. Chase, wow what a year he has had and even with Higgins missing some time Jamarr still.managed to garner the receiving triple crown. You can argue that Chase should go #1 and you could well be right. Where I'm hedging on him at one is the unknown status of TEE Higgins. Are the Bengals going to find a way to keep him? Probably not as CHASE is going to command a HUGE contract this coming year and rightfully so. I don't think that bodes well for Higgins which by all respect you'd think with no Higgins there it could mean more targets for Chase. THAT might not be the case either because I think it'll make it harder for Chase to put up 2024 like numbers. Finally, if you have the #1 pick you won't go wrong picking either one of these guys as I feel both of them will give you excellant returns. Yet for me I believe I'd take SaQuone(my Grandson's first name & he plays football in high school) Barkley with the first pick. Just feel that he'll touch the ball more, have more opportunities and be heavily involved in game, unless they're way ahead in points during some games. It'd be nice to see both of these guys put up similar numbers to what they did in 2024. It certainly helps you love fantasy football more if you have one or maybe both(unlikely) on your fantasy roster

I1'd be interested in a spot next year if there's one available. Played FF since 1988 and it's been my passionate hobby since then. Thanks for consideration.

Having wnd thoughts on Jeudy. I would surely start him.if Winston was.playing but since it's gonna be DTR I'm not so sure Jeudy will produce as he has recently. Guess I just don't have the confidence.in DTR to ball out even against a Bengals suspect defense. Luckily I do have a couple of other options to put in instead of Jeudy. Brown's could find themselves playing from behind forcing them to throw the ball but you know the Bengals secondary will key on Jeudy making him a risky start this week. I might even feel better starting the Bucs WR McMillan over Jeudy. He could fare better go I ng against Dallas' secondary.
-
I'm rolling with him against a suspect Bengals defense. I think Burrow and the Bengals put up 25 plus points against the Browns which in turn will force the Brownies to air it out more. Management wants to see what they have in DTR so I think he's gonna try and show off his arm but make good decisions. I had Jeudy on the bench last week and I won't make that mistake this week. He should see 10 plus targets this week and I like his chances for at least a td and yardage.

It's clear inspite of their record that the 49ers know what they're doing with RBs. Yes, gone are CMC, Mason, probably Guerendo this week so it's truly next man up here who is Patrick Taylor. Patrick Who? Definitely a marginal player but the 9ers certainly know how to get the most out of their RBs. It's a tough matchup for Taylor going against the Rams so I look for the 49ers to air it out. Purdy will throw for over 300 yds. again and surprise player Juan Jennings will fair well also. So the 9ers are down to their 4th string rb but I wouldn't bet on him having a big day. Maybe some yardage but if the 9ers are going to win this game it'll be through the air.

Uhh, the dreaded sophomore slump maybe or.jus that there's multiple players, i.e. Gibbs, Monty, Amon-Ra, Jameson who all seem to be paid more attention than LaPorta. It's Definitely discouraging given the stats he put up last year as a.rookie. Given the state of TEs this year LaPorta's barely start able. With fantasy playoffs now here.your best bet might be to try and stream some of the TE scraps left on the waiver wire as it'll be hard to trust LaPorta in your playoffs. He's definitely disappointed a lot of.fantasy managers this year, me included so he poses quite a delema.

I.have to agree with Ray. We've seen in the past that Conner has had aa penchant to get injured although he has held up well this year. Even if Conner is the #1 back next year I think you'll.see Benson involved a lot more. He will have a good grasp of the offensive scheme and his passion protection should get better as well. I think he'll easily get 10 plus touches a game to start the season and once he starts producing the touches will increase. I don't wish injury on any player yet if Conner gets dinged then Benson will have the backfield all to himself. Even if Conner stays relatively healthy I think both backs can be fantasy relevant.

Appreciate it WEEPAWS. I like reading the posts, comments and questions you put forth here on the messageboard. I can clearly tell you are passionate about football and you are insightful with the material you post. I pay attention to what you say here as I do with a lot of other posters here. FF Today is my absolute go to site for anything pertaining to football. I've learned a lot over the years being here and am grateful for the information, insight and the varied points of view from.all who post here. Thanks.

Yes I did but the offers I got were not very good so I opted to drop him. Couple.of the offers.the guys basically we're saying he's.always injured and that they would take him off my hands. The players they offered in return were basically bench fodder that probably would never see my lineup based.on the players currently on my rosters. One guy even wanted to give me an 10th round pick next year, geez. I wasn't.gonna just.give him up for nothing basically. I did have Olave in a couple of keeper leagues and decided to hold on to him. He's got a ton of talent but I just think he's not gonna have any kind of a huge season given the amount of receivers available in the NFL. Wish I could have got at least a player with upside but it just didn't happen.
-
Sad as OLAVE is talented but has trouble staying on the field but some has not been his fault. If in dynasty I'd.hold on to him.as.said next year is a contract.year but otherwise I think it's time to move on from him this year and look to grab someone on waiver wire that can help your team. I had OLAVE in several non-dynasty leagues and I have dropped him for other players.
-
I have 2 possibilities. 1. Michael Wilson(Arz)- if he's.still available. The Bears will certainly pay a lot of attention to Marvin Harrison. McBride should fair well. So coverage will be away from Wilson and with the way QB Murray is playing I think he'll find Wilson for 5 to 7 receptions. He should get.over 50 yds and will.find the endzone this week. 2. Troy Franklkn(Den)- Ravens are good against the run so if Denver even has a chance to win it'll be through the air. Certainly no real studs in the Broncos WR group but Nox has familiarity with.his college buddy Troy Franklin. Franklin will.score a td.this week and of the Broncos are forced to air it out to keep.up with Baltimore points wise I think Franklin could be a bonus and maybe score twice.

Well MAYBE make the playoffs at 2-6 kinda says they have 2 chances to make the playoffs, SLIM and NONE and SLIM just left town.
-
Yeah, I'm not a Jets fan but it seems like they're in a hole I don't think they'll be able to.climb out of.come playoffs time. They make not even make the playoffs. The Bills have a stranglehold on the division so the Jets can forget.about an AFC East title unless the Bills fall completely apart which I don't think will happen. I'm sure Rodgers is glad to have Adams and he'll probably force feed the ball to him which will not be a good thing for the rest of the Jets skill players. Yes they have a good defense but how long will they continue to ball out with the offense not producing as what was expected. The defense is gonna lose interest and the hole they're in will only get bigger. I would have liked to see Rodgers succeed in New York and even thought getting Adams would juice the team up. Just hasn't happened and sadly I don't think it is going to happen. Just my opinion. So.enjoy or not watching Rodgers as it could well be his last season playing in the NFL.

SNF Discussion: Cowboys at 49ers - Week 8
DocNiner replied to Mike FF Today's topic in FFToday Board
Yeah, even if CMC plays week.10 they should seriously watch his play during the game and.put him on a snap count if necessary, no need to risk further injury. Mason has.been dealing with a nagging shoulder but he's.been a.warrior though it. Now.since the way.Isaac Guerendo has.played the last.couple of weeks I'm.fine.with giving him a heavier workload even if CMC plays better. 49ers.hace shown they can run the ball so.I hope they don't push McCaffrey toouch. It looked.like Dallas.came out with a decent.defensive game plan through the 1st.half that confused the 9ers at times but did adjust to it somewhat in the 2nd half. Hopefully the 9ers learned how to adjust to what Dallas was doing because I'm sure they're gonna see it again from other teams. Purdy is talented enough to figure out what he needs to do and get.the ball out quick to the hot read. We do have some tough matchups in the 2nd half of the season but if we can get back to somewhat healthy I'm.confident we can stack some wins. Sunday night's game was a game we.had to win if we even want to sniff a chance of possibly winning the division. I am concerned with the RAMS because they're getting healthy. The trio of Kyren Willams, Kupp and Nacua could give teams some trouble. Their young defense is also improving so it may be the Rams are.the team to beat in the NFC Qest. -
SNF Discussion: Cowboys at 49ers - Week 8
DocNiner replied to Mike FF Today's topic in FFToday Board
After a dismal first half Shanahan musta lit a fire under the players arse in the locker room. Geez, or RBs are a mash unit but yet still showed how good our depth was with Isaac Guerendo. Not sure on Mason status goingforward but CMC will be a welcome sight week10 but if he's not close to 100% they need to set him.and let Guerendo get carries. My.guy, TE.GEORGE KITTLE got fired.up in the 2nd half and say what you.will about Purdy I think he's.playing great considering his best skill players are unavailable. Dude showed.he could run the ball as well when needed. Had to have this win over the Cowboys because the division is really jammed up.right now. Not really worried about the Cardinals or the Seahawks but the Rams could really be a problem going forward with Kupp and Nacua back in the lineup. I feel it's gonna come down to the Rams or 49ers to grab the division title because the way the rest of the NFC is playing it could still be hard for the 9ers to even get a wildcard berth if they don't win the division. So,.are the Detroit Lions gonna claim the NFC title this year. They look like a strong contender to reach the superbowl.
