Tell me again why Dallas let T.O. go?

KSB has won this thread. Easily. But you cant tell the TO haters anything since he's just like, you know, OJ when he killed 2 people.

Who has a better game week 4

I guess you needed to play the FFToday politics a lil bit better when you throw a thinly veiled WSIS thread out there. But I'll play since I'll likely be starting one of them as my flex. I have Rice in the lineup right now but I kinda feel like going w/ Bradshaw. They are in somewhat similar situations in that neither gets goaline work. Rice technically is the starter and gets slightly more carries but I think Bradshaw is more explosive. It could come down to the passing game (PPR league). I would like to see Bradshaw get a lil more involved here but NYG could very well be running most of the 2nd half and those opportunities could be limited. Rice may get more touches but Bradshaw may do more with the touches he gets IMO. At this point its a coin flip.

    Carolina at Dallas

What do you mean thats what I get? I like the rule. And I can only be so mad b/c my team got the same .25 for my rush attempts. It makes watching the game more interesting b/c every play has FF implications. Just sucks to lose on 2 kneel downs but those are the breaks. I was lucky to even be ahead based on my lineup decisions and some other breaks I got.

    Carolina at Dallas

Ok, so my league awards .25 per rush att. and I am going to lose on Romo's two kneel downs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Buy Low candidates

Just completed a deal Sat. night giving Eli & LJ for Slaton and Chambers (soon to be dropped for anything w/ a pulse) Think thats buying pretty low. Now the question is whether or not I will get any return on my investment of if I just traded a quality backup QB for junk bonds. Aw well, my season is doomed to all hell anyway since I drafted Brady and Moss with my first 2 picks. Neva again!!

    Is Portis just outright dropable?

I think a lot depends on your league setup. In 12 team leagues with relatively deep rosters that I play in, just about any RB who gets the majority of the touches on a team is worth at least a roster spot. So as bad as its been so far, I dont see anyone dropping him. He could very well put up some decent numbers for you over the course of the season if you have to start him in bye weeks or for injuries. In smaller, shallower leagues I guess I could see someone dropping him but the question is for who? I really dont know who would be out there that is so much better. A lot of RBs have struggled early. Yeah, its troubling that he hasnt done more against a soft schedule and my Skins are atrocious but again, you have to hadve a better replacement available. Its easy to get frustrated w/ a player and want to drop him but I dont think you do yourself any favors by dropping a starting RB for the flavor of the week on the ww who is not likely to give you any consistent production either.

    Tennessee Titans Suck..

Have any of those coaches won a single playoff game? A lot of guys can have success for a year or 2. And Tony Sparano is 0-3 too right now BTW. But Fisher is a good coach who has won with different core groups of players. He's a good coach and there is really nothing you can say that would make me think otherwise as my opinion of your opinions is extremely low.

    Tennessee Titans Suck..

Who said Fisher is the "best coach in the NFL?" He is one of the best though. He consistently wins and his teams play good football. And I definitely wouldnt say his teams bust in the playoffs. Its not like he has had vastly superior talent over the years. They can fire Fisher if they want to but he'd get a job in about 2 weeks and Id be willing to bet that whoever they replace him with wont be as successful.

    Tennessee Titans Suck..

The OP is an idiot. The Washington Focking Redskins. Now there's a franchise that SUCKS!!! Id trade any player on our roster right now for Jeff Fisher as HC.

    Worst NFL Coach?

Have to add my man Jim Zorn as at least a poll option. "Stay medium"

    Even Slaton's coach hates him

Well, I just traded Eli and LJ for Slaton and Chambers (soon to be dropped for just about ANYTHING on the WW). I will certainly be paying closer attention to him now and hope that I was wrong about the weight gain. We'll see....BUT I am still VERY concerned about how sluggish he has looked when Ive seen him play this year.

    The Black QB

No, there are many different theories and myths out there about this but there is no scientific evidence of this. We could literally discuss forever but like I said before, Im not really up to it. But I have read many books on this and wrote a lengthy grad school paper on the subject. IMO its all social construct.

    Even Slaton's coach hates him

Well, I commented in pre-season that Slaton looked sluggish to me and lacked the burst and explosion he had previously. I dont know for sure that the added bulk is the reason for that but you dont know for sure that it isnt either. And its not something I regurgitated off of ESPN, its something I observed with my own eyes. I havent seen much of the Texans first 2 reg. season games and I know that he has faced tough defenses but I would still be concerned if I was a Slaton owner. He ran very well on the Titans last year when they were just as tough on D. Based on what Ive seen the guy does not have the same burst that he did last year. Attributing it to the weight gain is pure speculation but it also seems like a logical one as well. Some guys carry weight better than others. Maybe Slaton is one that doesnt carry it well. Eventually time will tell.

    The Black QB

I think that being a good NFL QB is the toughest thing in pro sports and there are many variables that go into whether or not someone succeeds at it. The truth is that a very small percentage of players, of any ethnicity, do actually succeed at being a good consistent NFL QB. I dont think its necessarily a higher percentage for black QBs that are failing. What I think you have is that black QBs, particularly athletic ones, are both overhyped and overscrutinized for a variety of reasons. I also think that you are still looking at a relatively small sample size when discussing black QBs. There is still a sentiment out there, (a sentiment that this thread suggests) that whites are better suited to play the position. This affects the way youth players are developed in a number of ways. There have been and will continue to be black QBs who succeed in the NFL. You talk about Doug Williams best season being 3500 yards and 19 TDs. Well Aikman's best season was 3445 yards and 23 TDs. The only time he threw more than 19 his entire career. I also disagree wholeheartedly with the underlying premise of this thread that blacks are more athletic and less intelligent. I know I'm in the minority here with that opinion but I simply dont believe it. Its a social construct and I wrote a 25 page paper about it in grad school. But that's a long discussion that I dont really care to have on here right now. Interesting thread and a legitimate question. But the underlying premise is based on racial prejudice and Im sure the usual suspects will have lots of fun with it.

    *****Official***** Texans vs Titans thread

    Chris Johnson is flash gordon.

    Larry Johnson

Charles is inactive....cautiously optimistic about LJ this week vs an improved Raider run D. I think LJ still has it. He's just on a young team that's not any good and where he no longer fits the style of play that the HC wants to implement.

    Housh OUT?

Just saw that he is listed as doubtful. Im sitting him in one league and hoping my opponent leaves him in in the other. And fortunately I dont have constant back spasms but mine went out on me for a couple of days this past spring. NOT FUN!!! Wonder if this is gonna linger all season. Didnt Housh have some back issues previously?

    STUDs week 2

I think (hope) that Sunday Night Football will be the national coming out party for ............ Ahmad Bradshaw. Over 100 total yards from scrimmage, a TD, and a couple of nice kickoff returns.

    Housh OUT?

The KFFL blurb I saw said he missed practice but IS expected to play. Rotoworld reported the same thing. Im going against him in one league and have him in another. Based on my situations, I think Id rather he not play or play and doing nothing though. Sorry guys. I think he'll prolly go though.

    JETS talking smack to PATS

Too funny. I HATE Tom Brady and the Pats. Or should I say HATED b/c I drafted Brady and Moss this year. Go Pats!!!!!! (At least through week 16)
  25. VaTerp

    JETS talking smack to PATS

I agree with this. Ryan is playing a psychological game with his team and trying to change the mindset as it relates to the Pats. Saying, we're not here to kiss your rings and talk about how great you are, we're here to kick your azz. What we're seeing now with the recent comments is the players buying into it. Even if all of the quotes they made prolly arent the best things to be saying in the media and could get thrown back at them if they lose I get what they are doing. As for the Pats, they have been good at taking any perceived slight, no matter how small, and getting that extra lil bit of motivation. As a Brady and Moss owner I hope it works to the tune of somethin like 6 combined TDs and a lot of points. But I dont know. I think that Brady still getting comfortable with his knee, Pats D being mediocre and banged up, and the Jets D looks pretty damn good right now will be much more significant factors than any bulletin board material provided in the middle of the week.
