    Moss pulls hamstring

MOSS PULLS A HAMSTRING Patriots Football Weekly, the official newspaper of the (duh) New England Patriots reports that receiver Randy Moss injured his left hamstring while attempt to run down an overthrown flea-flicker pass at practice on Wednesday. The hamstring thereafter was iced, and Moss later left the field, presumably for the day. In 2004, Moss eventually missed several games after suffering a hamstring injury during a Sunday night game against the Saints. Though there's plenty of time for a pulled hamstring to heal before the start of the regular season, the injury will limit his ability to develop the proper chemistry with quarterback Tom Brady.

    gut feelings?

I'd take a chance on McNabb ... if he can stay healthy, he's a monster steal

    Eric Moulds signs with Tennessee

jeez ... that's barely addressing your team's need at WR. Way to go Titans!

    too early for the draft?

if you were dumb enough to draft Vick, then you deserve for all your friends to do that trombone sound from The Price Is Right when the contestant loses everytime you walk into the room ... WUHH-WU-WU-WU-WHUUUUUU

    Warrick Dunn out 6 weeks!

the only reason why Dunn hasn't been downgraded is because Blank has such a hard on for him ... and we all know how well Blank is at judging people and talent. Prediction: Dunn loses his starting job to Norwood and finishes the season splitting time like he did in TB.

    go RB RB RB?

a lot of people are writing off Caddy because of last year and I think they're making a big mistake. i have him rated a little higher than what most sites are rating him... so long as it's Garcia.

    go RB RB RB?

Jacobs has a couple of years of NFL experience and is a proven tough runner, so i would consider Jacobs a little better than Lynch. Now consider their OLs ... Magahee had a hard time finding room. Lynch has a few new OL that haven't had a chance to gel. Jacobs runs behind one of the better OL in NFL ... atleast Tiki did well with them. So I'd give the OL vote to Jacobs as well. Lynch will probably eventually be a very good RB in the league, but right now, based on what we know about Jacobs vs what little we know about Lynch in the NFL, I'd say that Lynch isn't in the same class

    Blank To Punish Vick

you guys are totally underestimating the seriousness of the situation in the government's eyes .... the dog fighting part gets media attention and ticks off the people, but the government is most concerned about the illegal gambling part of the ring. If there's one thing that the government really hates is when they're not getting their cut. It's all about money ... you think the government cares about dogs when they're sending thousands of troops to die in Iraq and Afghanistan everyday? they want their money. Vick is done in the NFL. he'll do a few years in prison and then get on w/ his life.

Would you hate a scoring system like this?

Well, the reason why I put in a minimum yardage for points is less of a penalty and more because passing for 70 yrds, I don't think the QB has done enough to warrant earning a point. I might have to look into making the minimum yardage lower for QBs, but I want to maintain a ratio of 2.5/1 between QB & RB yardage. If I change QB, then I have to change RB. The part I'm not sure the owners will like is how the yardage brackets decrease at the higher totals. For QBs, the first point is after 75yrds, the second point only requires passing for 50 yards more, then shortly after additional points are awarded after every 25 yards. If you're league was set up like this, would you think it's unfair? I'm hoping they're ok with it, but as every commish knows .... someone will be pist. But i do appreciate the feedback ... eventhough it's a little different than what people normally do, it's not so off the wall that people will totally hate it. I posted it here becuse i wanted to know if there was a flaw that i overlooked or if people thought it was unfair.

Would you hate a scoring system like this?

I don't think expecting a QB to throw for atleast 75 yards before earning a point is a "pitcher's duel". Too many leagues hand out points for nothing performances .... should we award points for players putting on their jerseys correctly? How about a point for every swig of Gatorade?
  11. I've been tinkering w/ my league's scoring system to come up w/ a way that makes players hit a certain yardage level before points are awarded and then as a "bonus" as they get higher and higher in yardage, the points are earned a little easier. Here's the breakdown for QBs. Keep in mind that as the yardage accumulates, the points are earned at shorter intervals. 0-74yrds = 0pts 75-124yrds = 1pt 125-174yrds = 1additional point 175-199yrds = 1 additoinal point 200-224yrds = 1 additonal point 225-249yrds = 1 add'l point (continues at 1 point for every 25yrds) So under this scoring system, a QB has to atleast throw 4 or 5 passes before he gets 1 point, but as he gets up in yardage, he's rewarded by getting additional points at shorter intervals. Here's the RB breakdown: 0-29yrds = 0 points 30-49yrds = 1pt 50-69yrds = 1 add'l point 70-79yrds = 1 addl point 80-89yrds = 1 add'l point (continues at 1 point for every 10yrds) I'd really appreciate any feedback regarding this. I know it's goes against the normal scoring system that others use, but i was trying to come up w/ a way to reward great performers without picking arbitrary places to give out bonus points.

Why all FF leagues should start 2 QBs

big fan of 2QBs for the simple reason in that it levels the playing field for all teams. It shouldn't be that only the teams w/ the best RBs dominate their leagues. But that's what happens in 1QB leagues because you can't make up the difference of having inferior RBs w/ only one QB. But 2QBs changes everything. I was able to win my league because I had strong QBs to go along with my good .. but not great RBs.

even lousy FoxSports is up and running ....

Instead of charging people for the cost of the site, I'd rather have all the cash go to the winners. I'm in a CBS league and for the amount they charge, they don't provide much more than can be found on any of the free sites.
  14. I used FoxSports last year because I refused to pay for live scoring like Yahoo does. ANyway, the live scoring did work 99% of the time and my only comlaint w/ FoxSports was that it was kind of limited in the # of options, but I consider myself lucky because a lot of people had serious problems w/ FoxSports. I'm switching to AOL this season due to the vast amount of positive feedback I've heard but their 2007 version hasn't been released yet. I thought AOL would be up and running by now but I'm sure they're not the only sites that are dragging their feets. Anyone else still waiting on their FF provider?
