Andre Johnson says he won't play this weekend

Thanks for the post, good to get the news early. Also I go against Johnson this week, so this helps my FF cause.

    IS Cedric Benson really soft?

Well regardless of whether you think it is absurd or not, there is at least 1 Chicago sports writer who feels it is a possibility. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...bears-headlines At the very least he suggests going back to a more RBBC like approach, with the two sharing carries.

    Drop Jacobs?

OK first you are an idiot for posting this question. Second you are an idiot for posting it here instead of the "Little Help" forum. Third I am an idiot because I am about to answer you. Here is the answer, Eric Johnson has a week 4 bye, Vernon Davis has a week 6 bye. So drop Johnson, more than likely he won't be picked up since your league charges for waiver wire picks and he has such an early bye. By the time week 6 comes around Davis will probably be injured and you can then pick up Johnson after his by week is over.

    League debate !

How quickly did the guy who picked up Ward e-mail everyone? I would think that he would have checked his roster immediately following the transaction, and notice that Bush had been dropped. Not that it matters . . . in my league I would argue the guy clearly made a mistake - reached out to everyone - and he should get Bush back and the other player should then be dropped. But that is just me, my league we play for total money of $1,200, so I do it for the fun of having a Fantasy Team to follow - not trying to get rich. For me, in obvious cases, I try to put myself in the other guys place and then try and do what is right.

    objections to trade

I've said this before on this site and am sure I will say it again this year. Unless there is a belief there is some sort of collusion, then no owner should objected to what they perceive as a one sided trade. Look if one owner thinks that Derrick Ward is the best thing since slice bread and all he needed was an injury to Brandon Jacobs to become a FF stud, well then he has every right to sacrifice whatever he wants in his persuit of Ward. Would anyone have objected to that owner drafting Ward in the first round, no they would have sat there laughing and said cool a better player is going to slide to me. So don't object now when an owner makes a bone headed move, simply make them a slightly more attractive trade offer and hope they accept. By the way, now that I am off my soap box, there is nothing unfair about this trade - tell the other owners to take their objections and shove them straight up where the sun don't shine.

    IS Cedric Benson really soft?

So the pre-season shouldn't be considered at all, you know when the guy averaged 2.3 yards per carry? Game 2 & 3 he had 10+ carries, so it isn't like he ran 3 times for 7 yards - he hasn't looked good in preseason and looked even worse in Game 1. He11 his own coach put his butt down on the , so why would I feel good about leaving him in my starting lineup?

    IS Cedric Benson really soft?

Benson reminds me of another Bears first round RB draft pick, but without the upside - Rashaan Salaam. Should be good, predicted to be good, drafted in the first round, signed to big monty - just missing that special something - HEART.

    Buy Low?

I think it is a little to early to declare your brilliance. Especially considering Colston had 6 catches on a horrible night by Breez, unless you are going to right off the entire Saints offense - Colston will be fine. He won't end up as a top 5 WR this year, but he should end up being top 15.

    Ward's trade value

Eli missing the same games does not increase Wards value, it will deminish his scoring. Plus the Giants defense looked like Swiss Cheese last night, so I don't think Ward is going to all to valuable, even with Jacobs out. There is a strong synergy between a QB who can deliver the ball and a RB have open lanes to run through - almost all of the top RBs have a decent, if not good, QB.

Orlando Pace out for the season(no link)

This Pace injury downgrades every skill player on the Rams. Damm that is a lot of FF talent that just got knocked down a peg, still a lot a value on the STL roster. Hopefully this will scare the Torry Holt owner into giving him to me cheap.

Plaxico's STOCK just went way down !

Not only does Plaxico's stock go down, but is it worth picking up Derrick Ward? How much can he do with Jared Lorenzen in at QB? How much offense are they going to be able to generate? Wow the Giants loose Jacobs and Manning for ~ a month, how pissed off are Plaxico and Shockey going to be when they are open but the ball doesn't get delivered?

    LJ Owners

That might be a little harder than you think. Remember Philadelphia has success using Westbrook because defenses have to account for their QB (McNabb or Garcia). Two years ago when McNabb went out the Eagles started McMahon/Detmer and Westbrook suffered. That offense is predicated on the QB being able to spread the ball around and make defenses pay - if KC doesn't have a QB who can deliver then LJ's numbers will continue to be below expectations.
