You are high on their list... run, and never come back! Run while you still can!!!

    Should they unionize?

Unions at one time served a very valualbe purpose in this country. At one time. Not any more. There are Federal Laws in place now to ensure worker abuse doesn't occur, ISO & OSHA standards to make sure the work place isn't hazardous. EEOC to ensure workers aren't discriminated against. The only function a union serves now is self preservation. When they strike, they cost their company thousaonds-millions of dollars (Depending on the size of the company), and it forces the companies to make hard choices. i.e., layoffs, outsourcing, etc. Unions have driven the wage structure up so high in most industries, that often times companies are forced to outsource to compete in their business. Especially in the manufacturing type industry. Having seen first hand the effects they have on companies, on more than one occasion, i don't feel they serve a purpose anymore. As for the bike messengers, it will only hurt them. 1) it sounds as if they aren't willing to strike. without that resolve, as has been mentioned earlier, the union will be nothing other than a charter on paper, and the sponsoring union (AFL-CIO) getting more wealthy off their dues. 2) if they DO have the will to strike, that will force management to either close the company (Not good for anyone) or look for replacements (not good for the messengers). Bike messengers, like most workers, are replaceable. Packagers were couriered for hundreds of years pre-bike messenger, companies would find a way to get their packages delivered still. no good. they shouldn't do it.

2006 WSOP Championship Final Table: UPDATE:

thats what makes him so good at poker! truth is, at least Gold was honest with his opponents. he told them, every time, when he had a hand (DOn't Call. I really like my hand), and when he didn't (I'll show you. Call me.) Every time he won a hand, he was right on. he may have had an attitude, and he also got a TON of cards (unreal how many 3 of a kinds he hit, or straights on the turn), but he played very, very smartly. Sure, thats easy to do from Dominant Chip Position, but he played very smart. i think he put out over 100 people along the way himself! thats unreal... Kudos to Jamie, and good job, Paul, on finishing 2nd...great showing.

Dude, you see that thing going the other way down the road, running away from you??? thats your credibility... i dont know what massive sized bug is up your arse, but get over it. this was about the dumbest paragraph i've ever read, short of everything EdJr has written. intentional? wouldn't have won? thug? please...you are a joke.
  12. Amen, Korben! thats exactly what this country needs now: is some sort of moderate with a clue about foreign policy. this modern day Hatfields & McCoy's the two sides have created is ridiculous...i mean, a current story on Clinton's mis-handling of Osama Bin Laden??? its well documented that BOTH administrations made lots of mistakes regarding OBL...CLinton hasn't been in office for 6 years!!! do we really need to rehash this??? Hilary is bad for our country...just awful...Falwell would be JUST as bad. they are both SO polarized, that they'll actually represent very little of our contry. i agree more with Hilary about things like Stem Cell research and abortion rights, but her views on foreign policy and subsidizing public services are just awful. (IMO). Falwell speaks in absolutes that just don't apply to the real world. BUt he's right- Hilary running would polarize the right more quickly than anything. i don't think the "Age" of the 3rd party is here yet, but i don't think its too far off. we'll reach a tipping point where enough people finally have had enough. eventually. not in 08, maybe not even by 2020...but the day WILL come.
  13. which, of course is everyone who doens't agree with you, right??? man, it must be tough going through life THAT ignorant, with that much bitterness...let it go, man...let it go... its not your fault.
  14. oh, you ARE a piece of work, eh??? i am SURE yo did your part to help rebuild NOLA, huh??? you contributed your thousands, to be sure... and while you are at it, you helped save Darfur, and you went to NYC to help dig out from 9/11... oh wait, THAT one you cheered for, because you hate America... you are a leech...you suck off the benefits this country provides you, and give nothing in reeturn... but its fun to read your ignorance.
  15. never had to use this icon, but... ~sigh~...why do i waste my time? lets build all the homes FIRST, but not give the residents any means to pay for them, since there is no business in the area...so now they have homes, but will be foreclosed upon, due to lack of ability to pay their mortgages... oh wait, that's right- you are from the school of thought that MY taxes here in New England should go to fund those who were displaced in Louisiana...it all makes sense now...

My 6-year old son made me proud

my sympathies...thats your first problem... j/k. i love Montreal, and my brother lives in Toronto and loves it... but i am surprised for such a liberal country, that happens...that doesn't even happen here!!!
  17. with no infrastructure, what business can their be? hence, no economy, hence, no homes for people to live in... typical bleeding heart, not seeing the forest for the trees... that was a HUGE statement for that community last night... and most (if not all) people interviewed around NO said they NEEDED the Superdome rebuilt... even the residents get it. dope.

    Giants and Steeler Fans

nice bait indeed...though i won't take it, i'll just point out a few little things: Over the last 14 years, the Steelers have made the playoffs 10 times. The Seahawks? 3. Conference title game appearances? 6 to 1. Superbowls: well, that ones easy now. you remember the 21-10 drubbing last year, right? Luck...stars aligning...say what you will...I'll call it consistency and greatness for more years than your team has been in existence. Our 19 hall of famers are a testiment to that. (you have 3. you don't get credit for Franco). For the record, last year our "Lucky" wins were by an average of 15 points a game. even wins over playoff teams were an average of 11 points a game. so i don't quite see how "Luck" factors into it. i don't see how LUCK factors into winning 3 games on the road, in January, in convincing fashion. Sure, we got a little lucky in the Superbowl- a couple big plays really helped. the fact that Seattle couldn't close also helped us. but you know? good teams MAKE their luck. look at the Pats- one could call their SB runs lucky. they got some good breaks along the way to all 3 titles. but they put themselves in position to MAKE that luck happen for them. want to talk about disappointing? lets talk about totally dominating your opponent statistically, getting over 400 yards offense, having your opponent play their worst game in 9 weeks, and STILL only putting up 10 points, and losing by 11! just think of the score if Pittsburgh had played WELL in the Superbowl!!! that game would have been 38-10, or worse... No hard feelings, man. i like the 'Hawks. no hatred there. They have a beautiful stadium (likely the best in the league, certainly top 3), great fans, cool uni's (yeah, i am one of the few that likes the 4 tones of blue), and according to Chad Brown, "Great sushi". so they got those things going for them, which is nice...but they didnt put on much of a show in the Superbowl. That's not really their fault though. they were up against a superior opponent. one that could play at 60% of our capacity, and still kick some 'Sqwauk a$$... now lets see how they conduct themselves without the MVP... and before you blame the refs again, just remember: 450 yards offense, 10 points. 8 dropped passes.

    Madden Curse

it was sort of broken, in that Ray Lewis didnt go down with an iinjury in 2004. but he DID have his worst season while being healhty (until last year) when he was on the cover. how can you NOT believe in the Madden curse??? that was the ENTIRE reason i skipped him and took LT2. the enitre reason. this curse is a POWERFUL thing... ~shudder~... ironically, the other finalist to make the cover? Ben Roethlisberger. man, i think he got some curse "residue" on him!

    Circumcision

If for nothing else than the sake of "Normalcy", we should continue to circumsize kids in the US. (Boys only). sure, there are no medical benifits, but kids are cruel, and no one wants their kids to face any more teasing than they already will for a myriad of other things. Keep cuttin off that flap o skin! the pain is brief for the baby. I know- my son cried for some time, fell asleep,a nd enver thought about it again. i doubt ANY of us as adult males can remember ever being circumsized, or the pain involved. I know i can't, and I'm a friggin genius.

    Funny "The Office" moments!

From the 1st season- the Basketball episode vs. the Warehouse... Scott: "Who' son the team? Stanley, of course"... Stanley..."Why 'Of course'"??? (Stanley's the black guy)... and then when Michael sees Stanley can't even dribble, "OH COME ON!!!!" Season 2: when Ryan learns that Dwight and Angela are a couple... the look on his face is CLASSIC!!! so many good moments so far in that show...

    Who's got an MBA

Each company's rules regarding how highly they regard an MBA will vary. My company did not offer any initial "Bump", however its widely known that "Unofficially", you need an MBA to get into upper level positions within our company. I did it part time, while working full time. it was in a weekly meeting cohort environment, which really helped facilitate learning. We had a TON of rpesentations and papers. in fact, we had few finals- mostly final papers. which isn't always easy to come up with a 12 pager, with a week left in class. the program was tough, but not impossible. Was it worth it? absolutely. Also, i benefit from workign for a great company- 100% tuition direct bill, not even reimburement! which means i had to pay nothing out of my pocket, for classes, or books, or anything. and the degree can be work related, or not. so for me, the decision was a no brainer. I would go through with it, if you think it will benefit you personally. Maybe the best option is to get it, and then elave your company (if thats possible). often times, you are more highyl valued from companies outside your own, than you are by your own, sadly. good luck!

    Davaco: "I cheer for terrorists"

trap? thats your idea of a trap? slippery slope arguments???? you may as well have said "I don't buy bananas, because my car antenae is broken". i have NO problem with the government tapping calls. if i gave them my # (they have it), they aren't going to call and fock with me. if i post it here, someone might. HUGE difference, such a big difference they aren't even in the same area code! spy on me government, go ahead! i've got NOTHING to hide. but people like you and those who call and say "We can refinance your mortgage in 15 easy minutes" are the calls i want nothing to do with. If you can't see the difference there, then you are both pathetic AND stupid...tough way to go through life, pal.
