    Start/ Sit on FFToday?

Quick poll question- do you think that FFToday would benefit from a straight up Start Em Sit Em type format? Weekly feature, similar to "Shot Callers Report"? thanks!

    Caribbean Recommendations

i don't know everyone's aversion to Jamaica. been there twice, loved every minute of it, can't wait to go back. Loved Negril, Loved Ocho Rios. oh well. Sandals is the best way to go. if you have to pick, go with Antigua over St. Lucia. I hear the "3rd world syndrome" in St. Lucia is awful, worse than in Jamaica. Antigua is their most private resort. and from what i hear, their nicest. enjoy!

Global Warming takes a year off.

Wow, so you take a story, that again, uses those "Guessing" words you wackos like ("suggests", "May be correlated", "Possible links to"), and prop yourself up on THAT? besides, you claimed it was related to "El Nino", NOT African Dust storms...how convenient for you, to change your argument midstream. same thing about this article. filled with conjecture, modelling, suggesting... please, try and deal in facts. Know what's most ironic? you are so quick to jump on Bush about his "Mission Accomplished" statement before finishing the job, but you come in here with some half cooked ideas, and claim "SUCCESS!" with your little goofy headbanger guy, when you have done ANYTHING but win your side of the debate... i guess you and Bush are a lot alike after all! Davaco President Bush

Global Warming takes a year off.

wow. thats really not a good argument at all. first of all, the two have never been proven to be related. on the contrary, most evidence says they are not related. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_nino this is one link, there are many others Talk to people who actually study this stuff. Geologists, Meteorologists...peopel who do this stuff for a living, not politicians. not scientists who are bucking for grant money. not lobbyists, or PAC's. Even the Ex-Head of Greenpeace was confronted on this issue, and is a non-believer when confronted with real, hard data, and not projections from computer models (Sorry, no link on that one, i'll get it though). Just 30 years ago, scientists were screaming about global COOLING. the TRUTH is, there has been no pattern, not even in the last 100 years of industrialization, that would indicate humans are responsible for the temperature changes the earth has experienced: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/main.jh...4/09/do0907.xml there is so much speculation that accompanies Global Warning. its not an earlhly problem- its a political problem. Politicians want to hang their environmental hats on "Scientific" models that are based on projection and conjecture. every statement about global warming contains some, or all of the following words: "if", "might", "could", "probably", "perhaps", "expected", "projected" or "modelled". As an engineer and a computer modeler, I know that models are inherently wrong. if they get within 50% they've done well. Every model is subject to bias, as there is a person(s) writing them. More and more real scientists are starting to see the light. i spoke with several geologists recently (Sorry, no link, as it was a casual conversation over dinner) who have been all ver the world, and seen a lot. and they'll be the first to tell you that the whole "Shrinking" glaciers theory is completely bogus. they are dropping sheets of ice from the edges, but the core of ice is thicker than its been in over 100 years. they aren't alone, as more and more are signing onto the school of thought that human's aren't causing global warming: http://www.oism.org/pproject/s33p357.htm Its a political issue, not an environmental one. Its easy to believe it, because the science sounds good. and it sounds like a noble cause. But please, do some thinking for yourselves on this issue before you believe crap like Al Gore's movie.

    X-Men: The Last Stand

I personally loved the first 2, but did not buy, nor plan to buy #3. I enjoyed #3, but can't see myself watching it enough to purchase it. it wasn't as good as the 1st 2. but it's a hail of a lot better than Benchwarmers!!!!!!

1,256 days since "Mission (Nothing) Accomplished"

since when??? thats one of the primary differences between Dem's and Repub's. Dems think they know better how to spend your money FOR you, while Repubs give it back to the peopel in the form of tax cuts (Why do you think all the Dems are up in arms over the present tax cuts? because it gives too much back to PEOPLE and not enough to the GOVERNMENT, for their special programs and pet projects)

    LT slowing down?

I am (An LT2 owner), and i am not (worried). Last year against the Steelers- he had 60 yards. the rest of his year was pretty fruitful. This year he had limited produciton as well, but will do fine the rest of the year. The Steelers Defense just does that to teams- makes great backs look very average. He'll be fine this year, better than fine. he'll average 20 a game from, here on out. not worried at all- he's already played Pittsburgh and Baltimore.
  16. China, for all their bad rap, has actually been a long time practitioner or isolationism for thousands of years. they shut themselves off from the rest of the world centuries ago, and have only really risen up to "Fight back" and defend their turf. Whether its Mongol Hordes, Japanese, or SOuth Koreans, they've always kind of stayed out of conflict, directly, until left with "No choice" (in their eyes) to intercede. that being said, their relationship with NK could quickly change if they see themselves become a potential target of NK's. KJI is so crazy, that he likely won't want to admit that they are what they are because of China's support, and KJI is definitely one who will bite the hand that feeds him. give him long enough, he'll dig his own grave. He doesn't want to be a puppet on a string, and will eventually flex his new nuclear muscle at CHina as well. and THEN they'll b!tch slap NK. As for the Clinton thing, i don't feel the engagement approach worked out well. I mean, Clinton allowed NK to develop nuclear technology because they "Promised" that it would be used for peaceful means. I'm sorry, but Clinton with NK is like Barry Bonds with steroids. He is either lying about them, or is the most ignorant idiot ever. SInce we know Bill is smart (Jury is out on Barry Bonds on that), and since he's shown a propensity for one over th other, we'll just assume he lied about NK. Or rather, knew that it wouldn't be used for peaceful purposes, but still tried the approach he did, for reasons known only to him. Not trying to get into a bashing session, just answering your question as best as i personally can.

    Running Back Dilemma

I have the following issue i need help with this weekend: Tomlinson vs. Pittsburgh GOre vs. Oakland C. Taylor vs. Detroit DO i EVER bench LT2 if th eother matchups are THAT sweet??? or take LT2 and flip a coin on the other 2 guys? thanks, will answer yours.

Addai will be top ten RB's this year.

i dont agree. here's why: Indy will continue to struggle to run the ball all year. when its not working for them, they'll instantly turn to Manning, because thye can, and because they have to win. the Expectations on the Colts are higher than those of any team. they won't be patient in developing the running game. their O-Line is not as strong running this year, and they'll just go with what works for them. he won't be top 10, not due to lack of skill, but lack of opportunity.
  22. Okay, Not sure how many of you heard this, but in the off-season, the state legislature passed a rule regarding high school football- if coaches run up the score and win the game by more than 50 points, the coach draws a 1 game suspension. there is no flexibility in this law. A coach could play his entire JV squad in the 2nd half, and the rule still applies...the rule is in place to "Protect the psyche of High School kids"... WHAT??? this is the worst rule in the history of competitive sports...so, 49-0 is NOT humiliating to a kid, but 50-0 is??? and how the heck does a coach tell his back ups to go out there, and play hard, but not TOO hard??? there have already been 3 coaches to face suspensions, though 2 have appealed and won. One coach this weekend will not appeal, after winning 60-0, though 20 points were scored by 2nd & 3rd team kids... i know there arwe many of you who will agree, but i'd REALLY like to hear someone have an opinion contrary, and actually defend this assinine rule...(sorry, no link right now...i'll work on that).

    Anyone watch Friday night lights?

i think they made the 1st show a lot like the movie, for the benefit of those who didn't see the (fantastic!) movie. Kin dof get everyone on the same level as a starting point. they used some of the exact same music, not just the same group, from the movie. Even the characters were very similar...troubled FB who lives with an abusive relative...new star QB (now that Street got hurt) who lives with his grandma, mouthy RB who is (SUpposedly) very talented...its all very parallel to the movie, and it was done intentionally...i think. i think the show will establish its own identity as it goes on. I hope so at least...It's got potential.

Tired old topic never gets tired

i couldn't agree more, especially about the Hartford comment... a lof of the shoreline towns are like that...Stamford, Greenwich, the likes...all of Fairfield County (where all the rich NY'ers live) is upwards of 10-20K, depending on how close to the Sound they are...suck!!!

Tired old topic never gets tired

i am in the "band of crap" you mention. Homes in Connecticut are SO overpriced. not as bad as Boston, but then there is no city like Boston near here. small, old homes with small lots go for 500K - 800K easy here. it sucks! property taxes are out of control too...8K a year in some towns! and don't even get me started on the "Vehicle" property tax!!! we are looking to move to Colorado. top 5 growing economy, top 20 places to live...its awesome. you can get new construction on over 2500 Sq. Ft. for 250K. 4000 sq. ft. homes on golf courses for 300K...can't wait to get back out there...
