    Addai outplays Rhodes

Ok i know to take Addai's good game with a grain of salt because he was playing a weak Run D in Houston, but it is very notworthy that he significantly outplayed Rhodes who was facing the same weak Houston D as Addai was. THe Numbers: -Addai with 16 Carries, Rhodes with 14 Carries -Addai averaged 5.1 yards per carry, Rhodes averaged 2.6 yards The Bad -Addai fumbled -Rhodes got the only goaline touchdown (Addai's was a 22 yard receiving touchdown). Week 4 or 5 I wouldn't be surprised to see Addai as the starting back.

    Anyone with Yahoo commish experience?

Option 2 would work if it were a few days ago. But considering the season starts in a couple hours. DO you tink everyone in your league would join the new league before tonights game and give you enough time to enter all the players on all the teams. Perhaps you can start it after tonights game and use retroactive stats for Tonight. But you will wnat to confirm that you can do that prior to going ahead wiht option 2.

    Questionable?

Does anybody have any stats on the percentage of times a questionable player actually started? It seems that most of the time they do end up playing. I would put the odds at over 75% as a best guess, but that would really mean that questionable means probable. And how many times does a probable player not play. To me questionable means probable and probable means he's playing.

    Musa Smith VS. Mike Anderson

I am kind of torn here, My instincts tell me to hold on to Anderson because I see him being the featured back if Jamal goes down, even if Musa backs Jamal up when Jamal plays. But you guys all seem to be thinking Musa. I have Anderson as my handcuff for now and I don't intend to make room for both handcuffs on my roster, maybe I will just drop Anderson and go a differnet route with that roster spot. ANd hope Lewis stays healthy.

    Musa Smith VS. Mike Anderson

It seems to have been indicated that Musa Smith is the backup for Jamal Lewis rather than Mike Anderson. now I have accepted the fact that he may be the guy to spell Lewis when Lewis is healthy. But to me that doesn't automatically mean he would be the starter if Lewis were to go down. I envision it this way. Lewis starting with Musa backig him up. Mike Anderson playing Fullback. But in the event that Lewis goes down I see Anderson as the starting Running back with Musa behind him. This is just speculation on my part. But as a Lewis owner, I have Anderson on my bench just in case. If you were a Lewis owner and you had room on your bench for either Anderson or Musa, who would you put back there. I am leaning towards sticking with Anderson because I am more concerned about who plays when Lewis is hurt, not when he is resting.

Anyone want to join in and start a

Thanks for the insight Esoitl, I would be very interested in hearing your analysis every week. You suggest starting Gore in week 1, would you start him over Fred Taylor or Jamal Lewis? I ask this question for both Week 1, and in general?

Is RB RB really the way to go?

I think too many people go into a draft with predetermined positions in mind. You need to have the versatility to go in a different direction depending on how your draft goes. For example in my league (10 teams) I drafted second overall and took Alexander. with my next 2 picks (late 2nd and early 3rd) I was thinking RB(like Chester Taylor etc.) and Antonio Gates. What do you know Manning is still sitting there at #19, I grab him and then take Gates with the next pick. Now im sitting there with 2 studs in Alexander and Manning, plus a Receiver at TE in Gates. Now the guys that picked in front of me in the mid seocnd round they all should have taken Manning but they were so hell bent on going RB RB that they either didn't notice he was still there or didn't care. RB is the most important position and you need to address if fairly early but don't overfocus on RB. IN your position I do like Manning with one of the picks and probably a running back like Portis, I still love Portis. But take a look at everybody available when its your time to pick. Its okay to let RB slide a bit with your first 3 picks but if you do make up for it in rounds 4-6. My motto is if your starting RB's aren't among the best in your league, make damn sure your backup RB's are the best in the league. THere are a lot of injuries at the RB position and often the team with the most depth there has a better team than the team with the best starters. Take a whole bunch and a few will hit. When your drafting near the turn as you are at 11, I usually approach my draft picks 2 at a time. WHen your first pick comes up pick 2 players you want and take the one who is least likely to make it to your next pick, you can have a pretty good idea based ont he makeup of the guy drafting #12. I think if you are after Manning and Portis, I would take Manning in the 1st and Portis in the 2nd. Although he could go to the guy at 12.

Waiver Wire - what is the best format?

I have the opposite opinion of you. I do it the yahoo way which I think is the way you wish your league did it, I would prefer if the last place team has first dibs on a player that gives the last place team the ability to be more competitive and makes the league more competitive as a whole. One thing though is that with yahoo only dropped players or newly added players to the system are on waivers, the rest are FA's and its first come first serve with those players. I suppose it might be better if a waiver system applied to all players so that the guy that happens to be online at the time its announced that a RB is hurt doesn't automatically get him. Maybe a 1 day waiver time for all FA's would be a good idea.

    Donald Driver

In the 5th round I had TO still available and tried to grab him but I lost my internet connection and the computer picked Driver for me. At first I was upset, but now with TO's antic this could turn into a blessing in disguise for my team. Favre will put up passing yards and passing TD's, he will also get a ton of interceptions which is why I am glad that I don' t have Favre. But Driver will get the benefit of the passes, but won't be penalized for the Interceptions like Favre will. Without a decent #2 option, with a bad defense, with such a strong history with Favre, Driver has to be the best value receiver out there.

    Rank these RB's

Jamal Lewis Fred Taylor Frank Gore Joseph Addai Mike Anderson W. Lundy I have to start 2 of these guys behind Shaun Alexander. And I am leaning towards going with Lewis and Taylor, with Gore getting starts depending on matchups and performance. Addai and Lundy will dpend on how they perform in the first few weeks and Anderson is around in case Lewis gets hurt.

    gore vs gates keeper value

Defintely Gates. Gore is nice, but like you said Gates is a #1 WR out of the tight end slot. He's a much better keeper.
  13. Ultimate1981

For all those who grabbed Manning in the 1st.

I picked second in a 10 team draft. Took Alexander in the first and was shocked to see Manning still there at the end of the second round. Also got Gates to start the third, Jamal Lewis in the fourth. In the 5th went take Owens who also slipped but computer problems gave me Donald Driver instead.

    Another Rate My Team

In a league where you start 2 QB's I would have put more focus on that position. Warner I like but he is a risk and Roth is okay but on a run first team. You are great at RB, very good at WR, and Gates is a stud,, I think he can make or break a team because everybody will get WR production but Gates gets you WR production from Tight end.
  15. Ultimate1981

    How did my draft go?

I like your team overall. Not thrilled with Edge, but looks like you got him at the end of the 1st round which is okay. I would have liked Portis better though. You have 2 great RB's to start, and have Dunn as a backup. I probably would have skipped Barber and Jones and shored up WR a bit more since your core 3 should carry you at RB. Not a fan of your setup, more WR's than RB's but you should do very well overall.
