    Chester Taylor

I think you gotta go Lynch there. Taylor's floor is somewhere like 4 carries for 15 yards, 3 catches for 15 yards. Lynch's floor is basically 15 carries and even 3ypc he gets you 4.5 pts that way, plus he catches the ball some too. Taylor's upside is limited even with the matchup. And Lynch has a more reliable chance to get his average performance or better than Taylor does to surpass Lynch's average performances. Both games will be in domes, so weather isn't a factor (Remember, Buffalo's hosting from the Rogers Centre in Toronto this week...)

Weather Forecasts for Fantasy Football Playoffs...

Don't forget, Buffalo hosts Miami in Toronto inside a dome this week. A dome with turf. Also, everyone remember to factor in wind...and in the case of Pittsburgh, who knows what frozen chunks of sod could trip up those players.

    Chester Taylor

Well I'm kind of stuck...For a long time my RB2 was Earnest Graham, but with his injury it put me in an odd spot going into the playoffs. Here are my RBs 1) Peterson after that it gets pretty nasty Willis McGahee Jamaal Charles Brandon Jackson Tashard Choice Chester Taylor Maurice Morris JJ Arrington Ray Rice So this week...unless Grant is out...I don't know that I have a choice but to go with Chester Taylor, ESPECIALLY against Detroit. It's a ppr league so those 4 dumpoff screens plus yardage plus 5-10 touches spelling ADP is good enough for me to just get some points. We're in week 2 of our playoff matchups (Seed 1 vs. Seed 4, Seed 2 vs 3 with total points from week 13 and 14 added to name a winner) and I have a 30 pt cushion, so I just want to get some points to avoid a zero. And Chester Taylor gets me safe points with some upside, so I would only say that MJD and Lewis are more name guys , but matchup and strategy wise, I think Taylor's a good play this week in your situation (and mine).

Start Deangelo Williams Or Brian Westbrook?

I'm in the same boat. I have an option to keep Westbrook in the lineup, then if it turns out he's a scratch or there's word he'll be limited, I can plug in Mendenhall to fill in and at least get some points. But I also have Deangelo Williams and his nice matchup. Last week he got 13 touches to 7 over Stewart, but yes, didn't get the goal line work. He does have upside to break a big play, and will be more likely to be in on third downs so maybe some dump offs... I'm stuck too. I've got both McFadden/Michael Bush so I can use either of those in an above average matchup (just in case McFadden can't go). I guess the upside of Williams wins out over the chance of a ZERO from Westbrook if he is a late scratch. Too bad the Eagles don't have a 1pm game... If Westbrook doesn't practice tomorrow, I'm checking the Philly papers to get their sense of it...and if I have the feeling he might be limited, I'd go with Deangelo.
  6. Alright, I'm a Westbrook owner who didn't get the winning bid on Buckhalter this week (not terribly worried - not a Buckhalter fan). Here's my lineup as it is now QB Cutler WR Andre Johnson WR Steve Smith (CAR) WR Laveranues Coles TE Heath Miller K Matt Prater DST Titans PPR, .1 per rush/rec yard, 6pt all TD, .04 per pass yard Here's my stable of running backs RB Westbrook RB McFadden RB Deangelo Williams RB Pierre Thomas RB Rashard Mendenhall RB Michael Bush RB TJ Duckett As it is now, I have Westbrook and McFadden penciled in. Keeping an eye on tomorrow's practice reports, I can sneak in Bush for McFadden if he's a no go. I kind of like that matchup with San Diego, but my concern is with Westbrook. My plan is if Westbrook doesn't practice tomorrow and I can't sneak in a trade for a Matt Forte or some such, I'll put Deangelo in vs. Atlanta, but if I get a feeling Westbrook will play fully, I'll keep him in there, with Mendenhall as a backup plan since he plays Monday. I keep seeing columnists talk up Pierre Thomas, but I just can't trust him since he doesn't get yardage hardly at all. Anyway, what are you Westbrook owners looking at? Anyone got Deangelo in their starting lineup without concern (ie Stewart taking TDs)?
  7. So I'm set up in a WCOFF Super Satellite ( rules right here ) that is set to draft Saturday the 23rd, but there are still 14 spots each to fill for a 2pm ET session and a 6pm ET session. As soon as a session gets filled, they set draft orders, so mostly I'm trying to see if I can help set up awareness and get it filled up to facilitate that procedure. So you can register right here should you be interested. $350 entry payouts as described in the rules 1 QB 2 RB 3 WR 1 flex (RB/WR/TE) 1 K 1 DST Standard scoring but 4pts for QB TDs.

    Fred Taylor or Julius Jones

At this point, being preseason, I'd draft Taylor before Jones. I have a feeling though, around week 5 I'll rather have Jones. After two years of RBBC in Jacksonville, and Taylor performing solidly...I have a better sense of how Taylor will be utilized and what production to expect. Jones, splitting with Morris (and being outran in their first game), is more of an uncertainty, though with more upside. Jones is the higher risk, but possibly higher reward, as he can produce enough to get to a 75/25 split with Morris, while Taylor's production is mostly capped by MJD.

Welcome to the NFL Chris Johnson!

And he is now officially on everyone's radar. Though my main draft isn't for 2 weeks, so perhaps they'll forget ... But I agree...expecting a solid rookie year from CJ.

    M.Schaub over P.Manning this week?

I'm considering it...typically, offenses do better on short weeks in the season since the D has less time to prepare. Joey Harrington about had a career day last year on Thanksgiving...so it's possible for anyone to blow up. That said...I'm considering Kurt Warner over Peyton. I have Boldin as my WR2, and I'm in a must win this week for the last playoff spot so I need points, and any double up TD from Warner to Boldin would be nice to get. My opponent has Wayne, so I don't gain a lot of ground, in fact since it's PPR I have to count on Dallas Clark and Gonzalez to put up some yards and points, or I'm actually going to be behind Wayne's production and Manning's output is somewhat capped. I see them having a similar chance to get 220/2TD, but Warner has the upside of throwing to two healthy WRs (well Boldin's functionally healthy at least). Also he could pull out another 3-4 TD game, while I think the Colts may try to run it a lot since the DTs on Atlanta are all missing. And the double TD points for Boldin/Warner would help a lot. Considering it...haven't decided yet. I'll probably stick with Manning,but....just seems to me if I want to play to win, start Warner, play not to lose, play Manning.
  11. Journeymen

    Terry Glen?

I think he might have a shot at maybe making a team's 4th string WR corps, but that's about it. For this season, I think he's done. Age + 2 knee surgeries before the year + not even full speed work yet = nice knowin' ya Terry.
  12. Journeymen

When the colts lose again, will Manning cry?

My thoughts exactly... Indy 38, KC 7...the Chiefs bite. Hard.
  13. I hit "Top Lineup" in my sportsline league and let that be my gut. It projects Marvin Harrison for 8 pts this week! YAY!
  14. Journeymen

in yahoo ricky williams not available yet

Yeah, I am on the same "Ricky's a non-factor" train. It'll take him a week or two at least to get into game shape and get his timing, and that's just to get to his ceiling which is significantly lower than when he was a legit NFL running back. I'd rather have another WR, a backup sleeper QB, or well, any other RB, more or less.

Why you DON'T start Dwayne Bowe this week

Not to mention Brody Croyle is not NFL-ready, the KC line is still figuring out what they need to be doing, and Priest Holmes is supposedly going to get 10 more touches than they'd originally planned. I think Herm is a little uncertain about his passing game. Another reason I won't start Bowe this week --- he's not on my team.
