    Warner or Garrard?

Warner at home or Garrard vs. Tennessee. Standard scoring, who has the better day today? Thanks
  2. Leave a link in your responce and I'll help out! My keeper league allows for the keeping of 3 players and we just got the results sent to us. I'm picking in spot 1.4 in a 10 team league. My top 5 picks I'm looking at are: Adrian Petersen (likely gone) MJD (likely gone) Deangelo Williams Tom Brady Larry Fitzgerald I'm sure that two of these men will be availible to me. The QB's availible in the league are: Brady Warner Romo Schaub Cassel Palmer 4 of the 10 teams need a starting QB, one team keep Flacco so I actually put that at 5 teams needing QB's The best RB's remaining are: AP MJD D. Williams Frank Gore Westbrook Steven Jackson LT Marion Barber Clinton Portis Pierre Thomas Ryan Grant Addai Lynch Kevin Smith Jonathan Stewart Every team needs RB The best WR's availible are: Fitzgerald Randy Moss Steve Smith Roddy White Greg Jennings Reggie Wayne Dwayne Bowe Brandon Marshall Wes Welker Owens Every team needs WR's I'm thinking what I should do since I don't like the QB's after Brady is take him at the 1.4 spot. I like the depth at RB and WR better and think once he goes Warner will go fast and my choices will be crap. In the second I will go best availible RB and in the 3rd best availible player. Am I insane thinking this way? If it helps my three keepers this year were: Slaton cost my 13th rounder Berrian cost my 12th rounder Tony Gonzalez cost my 7th rounder
  3. Post team rosters here. Impossible to answer accurately without them.
  4. This message goes out to the guys in charge of the FFToday rankings. Wes Welker is listed as the #12 WR this week. In a standard non ppr leagues, Wes Welker has been terrible. He doesn't get a lot of yards and hardly ever scores. His only value belongs in PPR leagues. When your posting rankings like you do and have a guy who's good only in leagues that most people don't play in it makes you look bad. Have you ever thought about doing two rankings to reflect PPR leagues and non PPR leagues to show the difference in value between the two? In a non PPR league Wes Welker is no where near going to be the 12th best WR in the league this or any week for that matter. On the season in a non PPR league with standard scoring of 1 point per 10 yards and 6 per TD he's scored: Week 1 - 5 Week 2 - 7 Week 3 - 5 Week 5 - 7 Week 6 - 7 Week 7 - 13 Week 8 - 7 Week 9 - 3 Week 10 - 10 That's terrible. Why do you reflect rankings like this for players who aren't going to be ranked that high ever? What's the deal here?

    Tony G.

Heh, I picked up Gonzo off the WW when some dumbass owner dropped him for a backup RB.

besides fftoday, which wesite do you use

I've seen my fair share of FFToday mistakes. They aren't nearly as piss poor as Rotoworld's so called experts or profootball talks rankings, but they don't get everything right. So in the spirit of fairness every week when I need to know what the experts pick I go to: cbssportsline espn cnnsi fftoday kffl rotoworld profootballtalk And list where they have my players ranked and give each of them an equal voice. If its a matchup toss up and I don't know which way to go I go with the highest average player. None of these places has the others beat hands down from what I've seen. The crowd here at fftoday is much much much better then anywhere else, but the experts they aren't perfect

Keeper league in 2009 need opinions who to keep

The rules of the league are like this: Each team only keeps 3 players and is only allowed to keep 1 player per position (can't keep 2 RB's etc.). Draft would be a normal serpentine style with the worst team going 1st and so forth with keepers sprinkled in. If you keep a player he costs you last years draft position +1 round, so since Smith was drafted in round 3 in 2008 he would cost a second rounder this year to keep. 10 team league. So say I was last in the league in 2008, I would be team 10 and get the 1st pick in the 2009 draft. If I choose to keep either my 2008 first round or 2008 second round picks that player would be my first round pick in 2009. If I didn't choose to keep my 2008 first or second round picks Team 10 would pick from all of the availible players in the league. Thirty players are keepers in the league and off the board before draft starts. If I kept Steve Smith my 2nd round pick would be Steve Smith at pick 20. Team 10 would fall like this Pick 1 - Team 10 (either 2008 first or second round keeper or 1st from rest of players in the league) Pick 2 - Team 9 Pick 3 - Team 8 Pick 4 - Team 7 Pick 5 - Team 6 Pick 6 - Team 5 Pick 7 - Team 4 Pick 8 - Team 3 Pick 9 - Team 2 Pick 10 - Team 1 Pick 11 - Team 1 Pick 12 - Team 2 Pick 13 - Team 3 Pick 14 - Team 4 Pick 15 - Team 5 Pick 16 - Team 6 Pick 17 - Team 7 Pick 18 - Team 8 Pick 19 - Team 9 Pick 20 - Steve Smith Keeper picks are penciled into draft slots where they fall.
  12. The owner of Steve Smith (Carolina WR) posted a league wide notice last night that he was on the trading block and wanted a good RB in return for him. I pinged him this morning and offered him Benard Berrian and Willie Parker for him. I'm waiting for an answer if he's interested in this offer but I'm having second thoughts about doing the trade even if he wants to do it. In our league Berrian is outscoring Smith by a couple of points. FWP is averging more then 15 points per game this year. I want Steve Smith because this is a keeper league. I consider Smith top 3 WR's in the league and an upgrade over Berrian. I went big on the offer to make the other owner agree to the deal. Now I am having second thoughts. Here's the rub: Berrian will cost me my 13th round draft pick next year to keep him Smith will cost me my 2nd round draft pick next year to keep him I am pretty much out of the playoffs this year so I don't mind losing Parker. I think losing him hurts my teams chances this year and actually think that's not a bad thing. The more games I lose the higher my draft position. Throwing in Parker is putting the trade over the top and if I were trying to win I wouldn't do it. I know that's kinda stupid but this team is in 8th position out of 10 teams and only the top 4 teams get into the playoffs, I'm not getting there. I know I'm giving up too much in this trade but that's done on purpose. The question I have about the trade is whether or not Steve Smith is worth a second round pick next year and is better value over keeping Berrian who will cost me a 13th round pick next year? Which would you rather have? Steve Smith with no second round pick in the 2009 draft but have 13th round pick Benard Berrian with no 13th round pick in the 2009 draft but have 2nd round pick I am not keeping Parker as I have Slaton who I can keep for a 14th round pick and Parker would cost me a second. So he is a non factor. I also do not have a 3rd round draft pick next year as that is reserved for Tony Romo. So if I do this trade I will not have a 2nd or a 3rd. But I would have potentially a top 5 QB and top 5 WR next season. Should I do this trade?

    Peyton Hillis

The Denver fan in my league picked up Hillis when Young was still out there on Waivers. Maybe he knows something? Personally I wouldn't ever insert a RB into my lineup who doesn't carry the football so even he is too crazy for me but you might be on to something. Screw rotoworld and there dumb advice. Last time I listened to what they had to say I ended up benching Avery against the Pats and started Josh Morgan who had no catches in the game after Rotoworld had posted on the front page that Sunday that Morgan was going to explode that week. The experts at rotoworld don't know what the hell they are talking about most of the time.

Does your opponents team dictate who you start?

I am the most erratic FF player out there. I've made 6 trades this year and have not started the same lineup twice all year. Each week I decide who I want from the WW and go get them. I am streaming Defenses and kickers as well as WR#3's and always looking to improve my team. This week for example I have made 9 moves: Snagged from Waivers = Threw Away Sage Rosenfels = Marc Bulger Jamaal Charles = Mewelde Moore Ray Rice = Ryan Torain Torry Holt = Steve Breaston Nate Kaeding = Robbie Gould Carolina's Defense = Indianapolis Defense I will be starting all of these guys except one, Charles or Rice, this week. I always play this way unless the guy is so good he stays on my team for good. Guys I have like that are Tony Romo, Berrian, Willie Parker, Ryan Grant, Steve Slaton, Cooley, and Gonzalez. What I'm saying is I will always pick up players that I think will score or at a minimum get enough touches to warrent a start. I always play big or I lose. I've had this year the top score in my league but never had the bottom one because to me winning is about matchups, matchups, matchups.

Rank these 5 WR's going forward?

Roddy White - Full on stud best on the list Bernard Berrian - Becoming a big deep threat, unless they go back to Jackson I see his potential increasing with the addition of Rice. Dwayne Bowe - I'm liking what the Chiefs have been doing lately but could lose catches to other players stealing looks Brandon Marshall - Offense is terrible and he's playing like crap. Not buying the Torain talk. Running game won't stop that. Boom or bust with no consistancy DeSean Jackson - Stuck in an offense with 4 other WR's where each one leads the team a different week. No consistancy
