  1. I'd suspect the Cowboys are encouraging Zeek to take the plea. If I'm the owner/coach I want this over with. Too big of a distraction for a team with legit playoff chances.

If they're smart they'll take 2 games with it starting immediately. He'd miss an auto win @ San Fran and Washington. Before they get into a tough 3-game stretch of KC, ATL, Philly

  2.

No, it's not the perfect time to trade him. The perfect move if you didn't think he had it, would have been to drop him weeks ago for any of Watson, Fuller, AP, McKinnon, ASJ, Darkwa, etc. that have become every week starters in just the past 2 weeks. You will not get that back in a straight up trade for Henry.

That was my point. If you're not looking to hold these guys long term, or you don't think they have it, then just drop them.

You're making the assumption he didn't have somebody else on the roster that was "more droppable" than Henry. I still have Henry as well as picked up Watson & Darkwa.

Henry had very little trade value before last night... yet he still wasn't truly droppable (12-team league that is).

  3. This is our 12th year for the league I run... In that time there's only been two instances where the #1 regular season team has won our championship.

If you're 6-0 you can start planning for the playoffs. Which is handy

  4. To expand: perfect situation developing for Watson. Good to great WR's, 2 good backs, offensive line that's improving...and a defense that's falling off a cliff right now. To win, the Texans may have to score 35 a game and Watson is the driving factor in a lot of it. His emergence has even sparked Lamar Miller to look passable again. Division is soft, schedule isn't all that hard. Of course some regression is coming, but is that 2TD's a game going forward? At this point, 75% of his best games would still be better than most QB's.

    My thoughts exactly

  5. I hope he is getting his head on straight. So far he is in line to win the BIGGEST BUST for a first round choice.

Tight race between him and Jay Ajayi. He went last pick 1st round. (12 team)

    I'd rather have Julio

  6. I picked up Houston sat night. They play clev in Houston so even with their two big guys out I still may roll hem out there against clev.

With 2 of their 3 best defenders out I'd be worried about streaming them. I might be crazy but Hogan is a major upgrade over Kizer. They looked like a much better team as soon as he came out. With that said... It's still the browns lol

  7. Thoughts on TB against Arizona? Should be good for several sacks against Palmer, right?

I think they could be a sneaky play... There's probably better options out there but they'd be on my short list of streamers this week.

I know, that's why the smiley face above :) I'm starting Smith in one league and feeling good about it, and I've got Rodgers in another. So I didn't pick up Watson. But if he regresses down to where Alex Smith is playing right now, that's a great starting QB to have. I'd be starting him right now over a lot of guys...top 5 QB right now, maybe.

90% of the time this is a situation where I'd trade him and make a killing... but I waited to draft a QB and went with Palmer so I've been streaming since week 1 basically. I'm ashamed to say that included 2 weeks of Jay Cutler :(

Plus I'd hate to see him continue to dominate on somebody else's team. It's the year of the Rookies apparently.

I did. I didn't even insinuate, I outright said it :) My point is that a guy like Goodell (read: a scumbag in many ways) may try to use the Gordon situation to make people feel better about him. If he thinks people are upset about him going after Zeke, and if he perceives that public opinion were that Gordon deserves a second chance, I could see a guy like Goodell letting Gordon back into the league, even lifting that four game suspension. Just to get some good publicity. And all the while still going after Zeke.

To say that I could see that happening isn't in any way me saying that one case is worse or better than the other. I'm not making any judgments there about Zeke, or Gordon, or the 'bad things' each one did (or is supposed to have done in Zeke's case...Gordon is admitting to what he was charged with). In other words, I'm not doing what you called 'ridiculous'.

I'm just saying that a guy like Goodell could decide that he could use Gordon to make people like him more, by being nice to Gordon. And the reason he'd maybe see the need to is if he feels like the league reputation is taking a hit from their treatment of Zeke. That's all :)

Well damn... My apologies sir. I mis-read your original comment.

  10.

    Okay.

Of course, you saying that one of them has been accused of much worse than the other is comparing them...one is 'worse'. That's a comparison.

But my other point is that none of what you just said is applicable to what I said.

Bro-bo - I suppose we can disagree. Did you not insinuate that the zeek situation would somehow have an effect on the Josh Gordon decision?

  11.

Unless Goodell thinks that letting Gordon back in would help his and the league's image during their fight with Elliott. "People think we're jerks for going after Elliott. But we don't want to admit we're wrong here. Hey, let that feel-good story Gordon guy back in!" Plausible.

Well... Gordon hasn't been accused of beating women. Most of Gordon's issues were from smoking weed so I'd say even remotely comparing them is ridiculous.

I still can't go to Colorado to beat my wife.
