All Time Greatest Video Games ***The Pole*** [Semi-Finals]
Saint Elistan replied to KSB2424's topic in The Geek Club
MTS should be running away with the bottom group. TBBOM and Reality in the first. Rigged! -
Name a topic you are confident you know more about than anyone else on this forearm.

Yeah, turns out that was a terrible idea. I actually watched it twice because the DVD looped and started again. My ass thought it was a continuation and they were all getting a second chance. Itsatip: They all made the same mistakes again. -

I had a hard time explaining how that one made me feel, but that's a pretty accurate depiction. I may have robbed myself of the true experience as I was on shrooms the first time I saw it. It's strange how different it was to me when I watched it sober a few years later. -

All Time Greatest Video Games ***The Draft***
Saint Elistan replied to KSB2424's topic in The Geek Club
I thought this was a draft for the greatest video games / franchises of all time? My list ravages all but the three I mentioned in my post - who clearly reaped the benefits of drafting with old foggies. 96 Games went before me and I didn't duplicate genres. As a franchise, Pokemon is only topped by Mario Brothers. League of Legends is in a category of its own. The Sims, before Minecraft, was the greatest selling PC game of all time. No racing franchise even comes close to Need for Speed. You guys drafted Uncharted over Tomb Raider? There wouldn't be Uncharted without Tomb Raider. Age of Empires is what every modern RTS is modeled after and it still holds up today. Nintendo still makes Gamecube Controllers today for Super Smash Brothers Melee alone. Borderlands is there because I needed a First Person Shooter and it's clearly the only genre that the majority of participants knew something about. Overwatch may have been a better choice. It currently boasts 35 Million Players and may even be overtaking League of Legends in the E-Sports world soon. But you guys didn't draft that either. -

I only ever got to do up to AQ25 in Vanilla. Such a crazy game it was back then...lots of min/maxing. Guilds had to really get creative and actually make time to farm materials...and use good ole DKP. -

I think that's fair. I'm an atheist and my wife is a Christian, so it was interesting to discuss the elements of the film afterwards. I like movies that stick with you a few days after and Mother! certainly did that... -

That's my favorite of his! My wife's favorite is Black Swan. How did you feel about Mother? -
All Time Greatest Video Games ***The Draft***
Saint Elistan replied to KSB2424's topic in The Geek Club
Alrighty, here's my undrafted team to destroy you all...and I'll keep it to unique genres as well. #1 - Pokemon (Role-Playing) The Main Series of Pokemon has sold over 200 Million copies. I really don't have to add more to that. It's Pokemon. I can't believe this wasn't drafted. #2 - League of Legends (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) Over 100 Million unique active players every month. It almost single-handedly boosted E-Sports to legitimacy. #3 - The Sims (Strategy / Life Simulation) Over 200 Million copies sold. This game basically created a genre and had more people spending time on their pretend life than their real one. #4 - Need for Speed (Racing) Over 150 Million copies sold. There isn't a more storied and successful racing franchise. #5 - Tomb Raider (Action / Adventure) Over 58 Million copies sold. Arguably the pioneer of the Action Adventure Genre. Side note - nobody took God of War either? #6 - Age of Empires (Real-Time Strategy) Seven titles, three spin-offs and over 20 Million copies sold. The definitive RTS. #7 - Super Smash Brothers (Fighting) It's broken the Sales records of every console it's been released on and is one of the greatest cross-over games of all time. Tournaments are fiercely followed. #8 - Borderlands (First Person Shooter / Role-Playing) Over 26 Million copies sold. A bold combination of genres, unparalleled humor, and glorious violence. Just 8 of them? Man...I have a few more that definitely should have been drafted. Star Fox Kingdom Hearts Marvel vs Capcom Assassin's Creed Spyro Gears of War Bejeweled Ratchet & Clank The Witcher Total War Hearts of Iron XCOM Dance Dance Revolution Far Cry Portal Rogue Squadron Warhammer Left 4 Dead Dark Souls Mother Paperboy Pirates! Day of the Tentacle Dragon Age Neverwinter Nights Legend of Dragoon Ogre Battle Fire Emblem Animal Crossing Harvest Moon Tekken LEGO Mario Party Sure there are many more...I think TBBOM won this thing. Reality and MTSK tie for second. -

Pokemon, Star Wars, anything related to Digital Projection Movie Theatres, Korean Pop Music, the Paleo Diet, Microsoft Excel, Live-Streaming, Video Capture, Wireless and Local Networking, Clint Mansell, Darren Aronofsky, POV Porn... Are there any Coders here? I have some decent self-taught knowledge there - fishing to win that one by default. I wont assume that I know more about computer hardware, but I'm in the discussion. -

Time-Lost Proto Drake... Speaking more on WoW - I know most here don't understand how amazing being part of a world first is - I was never part of one. That's so cool man. My first experience with raiding was with 40-Man Raids in Vanilla. We captured Server first on most of the bosses in Blackwing Lair, but another guild beat us to Nefarion. Ragnaros 40-Man was one hell of an experience the first time I tried it. I was a Resto-Shaman (AKA Mana Tide Totem Slave) back then. -

My cousin had a kid that he named Raistlin...really bad idea. He underwent several blood transfusions after birth, but didn't make it. Fitting to the character, but a sad as fock story. Fun fact - Dragonlance is actually where "Elistan" comes from. He was a cleric of Paladine. -

Subtitles. Most of the newest anime's only arrive on the US Shore this way. The "Dubbed", ones with English Voice Overs, versions arrive at a much later time. -

Feel free, Djgb and MTSB, to drop any recommended Anime's. I recently enjoyed Log Horizon as an alternative to Sword Art Online. Claymore was pretty interesting. Erased was a touching series. I fell like all of you non-nerds would really like Attack on Titan if you wanted a starting point - it's on Hulu. I managed to watch all of Bleach...does that help my case? -

I'll claim the 10 Title for you guys. I recently had a Star Wars Gender Reveal Party for my soon-to-be-born daughter. I have over $2k Invested in the X-Wing Star Wars Miniatures game. I have read and own every current Star Wars Canon Novel and have watched every episode of the Star Wars: Clones wars and Star Wars: Rebels animated series'. I own over 500 PC Games on Steam in addition to owning a PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. I recently sold my Magic: The Gathering Collection and netted nearly $1000. I used to participate in Magic: The Gathering tournaments. I used to make YouTube videos of me playing Pokemon, among other games, of which I made collaboration videos with Streamers and YouTubers that now have hundreds of thousands of followers. I own every Pokemon Game, have a complete Pokedex, own a physical copy of every Pokemon Gym Badge and at one point played competitively. I once invested 2,000+ hours in a single character on a Text-Based Multi-Used Dungeon Game. I own every Fire Emblem and every Final Fantasy game. I have a Funimation Subscription. I only watch Subbed Animes. I can name over 50 different Korean Pop Music groups. I own almost every book penned by Stephen Hawking and Richard Dawkins. I played World of Warcraft for 12 Hours a day over the course of two straight years while unemployed. I earned the right to call myself the highest Damage per Second Paladin in the Wrath of the Lich King Expansion on the Kiljadeen Server. I was the Shadowmourne recipient for my Raid Guild. I was also a competitive Auctioneer. Across all 10 of my characters, I had every profession maximized and profited around 10K Gold a day. I had to maintain a "Bank" Character just to hold all of my other characters stuff. He had his own Guild as the only member just so I could have a personal Guild Bank. I played Dungeons and Dragons version 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0. I was a Member of Collectible Card Card in High School. I play the French Horn, Trumpet, and Baritone. I have at least a thousand dollars invested in Hearthstone, Pokemon Duel, and Mass Effect: Andromeda micro-transactions. I own Pokemon Plush Stuffed Animals and wear Pokemon apparel in Public. I have read and own all of the Dragonlance Novels. Should I go on? -

Transgender Person On Trial For Sexually Assaulting 10-Year-Old Girl In Bathroom
Saint Elistan replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
Learn about them? Sure. But in the grand scheme of a child's world, it's irrelevant information to their survival. Whether or not a person is gay or transgender does not affect their threat levels to children. That's kind of the point of the entire debate. Children don't see them as threats. It takes a third party influence to introduce them as threats. I don't think we're far apart on whether or not children can learn to be gay or transgender...I believe you, among many others, have described these people as mentally ill. If that were the case, then they were born that way. You don't learn to be mentally ill. -

You've presented absolutely no evidence that kids don't learn "this stuff" from their parents, Skids. What you've successfully avoided is how they get that way. Everything a child does, they learn from their environment, their trusted figures of authority, and experimentation. I don't need to spend hours on google and cite scientific studies about what color person kids refused a cookie from to know that's true. It's just fact. Children are a sponge.
