    Which RB at Flex?

Yeah, I guess my insecurities are due to the matchups. Sproles or Bell aren't starting - but they are going against extremely weak defenses - while at least the NE rush D is looking pretty good. Buffalo's offense is pretty anemic, Jackson may not be as effective as the other two...

    Which RB at Flex?

Hi there - in a 12-man league. Was pretty confident in starting Fred Jackson against NE or Sproles against OAK in my flex spot (have Turner and Ronnie Brown in my RB1 and 2 spots). I am facing the owner of Pierre Thomas this week - and decided to block him from picking up Bell earlier in the week. I had no intentions of using Bell - just wanted to keep my opponent from using him as a suitable replacement for PT and dropping him back to the wire before gametime. But now maybe I feel like I am being persuaded by all the hype to put him into the flex spot. What do you all think?

who has drafted and whats your team?

Drafted the other night - 4th pick in a 12 team standard scoring except QB TDs = 6 pts. We start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, WR/RB, TE, K, D/ST. The thing that is really worrying me is the clear lack of a a 3rd starting RB. This is the first year the league has had 12 teams - (up from 10 teams). So the draft pool was much more diluted...feel like I should have made a play for another RB earlier - perhaps in round 6...how does this look? Rnd 1. Turner (guy at 2 picked MoJo, guy at 3 picked Brady - completely shocked me - so I had to go for Turner...I was fully expecting Forte here...) Rnd 2. Ronnie Brown Rnd 3. Steve Smith Rnd 4. TJ Houshmandzadeh Rnd 5. Matt Schaub (little nervous on this one, injuries concern me...) Rnd 6. DeSean Jackson Rnd 7. Chris Cooley Rnd 8. Darren Sproles (kicking myself taking him here...I could have waited a few more rounds) Rnd 9. Domenic Hixon Rnd 10. Fred Jackson Rnd 11. Jerious Norwood Rnd 12. Chris Henry Rnd 13. NE Defense/Special Teams Rnd 14. Marc Bulger (ugh) Rnd 15. Matt Prater Rnd 16. Robert Meachem

    Legitimate beef with yahoo scoring?

Yeah - I just noted that. Which is funny - because according to the official definition, a muff is NOT a fumble because no possession was gained by the receiver. But I do note the discrepancy between the text description in the play by play on NFL.com and then the box score crediting Berrian with the fumble. Looks like even the NFL doesn't know what to call it...bad luck is what I call it. What is the MFL?

    Legitimate beef with yahoo scoring?

Not to beat this horse even more dead...but just out of curiousity's sake... Does anyone know if Yahoo distinguishes between "muffed" punt returns and "fumbled" punt returns? Checking the scoring summary on NFL.com - it states" (:35) 9-M.Koenen punts 34 yards to MIN 22, Center-46-M.Schneck. 87-B.Berrian MUFFS catch, RECOVERED by ATL-59-M.Boley at MIN 22. 59-M.Boley to MIN 22 for no gain (50-E.Henderson). If I understand it right - a muff is not a fumble, because possession hasn't been gained - it simply happens when the ball hits the receiving team. Would this get overturned by a stat correction? Or is it up to each fantasy sport provider to determine how they define fumble?

    Championship FU Thread!

FU to Bernard Berrian for fumbling that punt return. And FU to Yahoo! scoring for counting a fumbled punt return towards an offensive player when offensive players are not able to score return yards or return TDs in our league. That's bushleague right there. That -2 for his fumble on the return cost me the win - I lost by 1.6 points and with it $350.

    Legitimate beef with yahoo scoring?

There wouldn't be a way to change it anyhow - no stat corrections allowed. If they had been allowed I would have gone in and corrected that stat everytime it happened during the season, then I'd have been able to do a similar thing this weekend. I guess I know how San Diego and Baltimore fans feel when there teams get decided by poor officiating...this is the FF equivalent of it I think.
  8. Fumbles count against them? I'm the commish of my league - was in the championship today. We have it set so that only D/ST can score off of returning yardage and return TDs. I had Berrian muff a punt return - lose the fumble and it resulted in -2 to his individual stats - giving him a whopping total of -0.2 for the game. This happened earlier to me in the season when DeSean Jackson fumbled a punt return. That one didn't hurt as much - as I won by a considerable amount that week. This week - the championship - and a difference of $350 between 1st and 2nd - it makes me lose by less than 2 points. It happened to a few other owners during the season but also didn't affect outcomes of the games - we all complained about it - but the free Yahoo league doesn't allow for scoring corrections. Now - I feel somewhat responsible as the commish of the league as I set up the scoring - I didnt want position players to be able to score on special teams. I wanted to keep that as D/ST. There was no category for D/ST fumbles lost and there seems to be no distinction by Yahoo between fumble losses. And honestly - I never thought it would make THAT much of a difference in the outcome of a game. Do I have a legitimate beef with this scoring? Do I take this up with my league and take a vote? I feel torn here because I am the commish - and this may be taken care of by the commish in some cases, and now I have a conflict of interest - but this is a considerable amount of money. Or do I just concede the loss and realize that it is just an indication that Yahoo has limitations and that we should look elsewhere to play next season? The loss is fresh - so I apologize if I sound bitter - just lost in overtime...watching Carolina not get the ball to Steve Smith one more time.

    McNabb or Rodgers?

I'd start Rodgers. CHI secondary is a mess. I dont think the cold is going to play that much of a factor- these guys are used to playing in cold weather. McKnabb has got a few injuries on the WR side of the ball. Please see mine - http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=337321

    Coles or Desean Jackson?

I think both of these guys are due to be in bad weather in this afternoon's games...I am leaning towards Coles because SEA had a terrible pass D.

    Boldin/Breaston owners check in

That's gusts not sustained winds...sustained are 12-18 mph. Since that last post I sent, the snow has picked up immensely - and the wind has too. Wonderful. My other option is Berrian against ATL - with Jackson at the helm. So I dont know who is a better bet...

    Boldin/Breaston owners check in

I live out west of Worcester, MA - in an area that is going to be hit harder than where the game is. If it's the snow alone that you are going to worry about - getting a good hold on the ball, good footing etc, yes then the passing game may be impacted. But I always thought that the receiver had more of an advantage because they know when they are going to make a break etc. and the defense has to react to that. I can see Breaston capitalizing on short yardage passes and gaining some YAC - it only takes one slipping defender to make a big break in these types of games. The wind isnt doing much of anything right now. In fact, they are forecasting the blustery winds not to show up until this evening and tomorrow. Granted - winds will be different in a stadium, but as of right now the winds are doing not much of anything look out into the woods in my yard. And the temps aren't that bad - compared to Friday and Saturday. I'm starting Breaston in place of Boldin out of neccesity - because my other options are mediocre at best. Everyone says that the Cardinals have nothing to play for - but I disagree to some extent. Their offense has been completely out of rhythm the past few weeks - I think they need to execute this week to make sure that they are in some kind of rhythm going into the playoffs.

    CHampionship Game RB help

As for you RB dilemna - it's a tough one. Denver is playing to clinch the division - so I think they are going to play Buffalo fierce. Buffalo doesn't have a great pass game and they may be able to clamp down on the run game a bit because of it. I'd sit Lynch. Detroit is going to try and run Smith a lot to control clock and keep Brees off the field. The only thing that would worry me about that game is if the New Orleans D that beat Green Bay on Monday night earlier in the season shows up. But as it is now - I'd go Smith, Turner, and Jones. Thanks for mine.
