That's your only argument - that Subban won the Norris last year? Really? Bobrovsky won the Vezina last year....and is the backup for Russia behind Varlamov, who has won both of his games (though Bobrovsky should have had the win against the U.S. too but didn't, after Quick "accidentally" knocked the net off a quarter inch). And the "best goaltender" (using the same logic) couldn't even stop once, in four shootout attempts, a guy that has never once scored 20 goals in an NHL season? Still no comments about Keith, Weber, or Doughty, who happens to be leading the Olympics in goals (by a defenceman, no less), and is being raved about by everyone up here? Meanwhile, Subban has been totally forgotten about by every network, outside of maybe RDS and french CBC. Like I said....I wouldn't have a problem if Subban was in the lineup instead of Hamhuis or especially Bouwmeester, who should never have made the team in the first place. Subban's speed would be way more helpful in a matchup against the lightning fast US team than Bouwmeester's lead feet. Keith and Weber are the top 2 workhorses and are playing like it. I'm liking what Vlasic has brought to the team as he's the perfect compliment to Doughty, so I'm not sure I'd want to see him taken out of the lineup. Pietrangelo has been steady, but I probably wouldn't miss him if Subban subbed in for him. I get that you're a Habs fan but, unless Keith, Weber, and Doughty all get hurt, there's just no scenario where Subban is "by far, Canada's best defenceman".

Your link (an opinion piece, written by someone from a TV network that has about as much presence in the hockey media market as the Ugandan Sports Network) did nothing to back up your argument that Subban is "by far, the best defenseman" on Canada. The best it did was imply that Subban should be playing instead of either Dan Hamhuis, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, or Jay Bouwmeester....which I never disputed. So you've got no counter-argument against Keith, Weber, Doughty, or Pietrangelo, other than flinging poo? You're right about one thing - one of us sure is lacking in any cogent hockey knowledge....but it ain't me.

Look, I get that the vast majority of your posts are trolling expeditions, but I'll ask you a serious question nonetheless - would you really take P.K. Subban over any one of Duncan Keith, Shea Weber, or Drew Doughty? Even Alex Pietrangelo is having a better season in all aspects. An argument can definitely be made that Subban should be playing. Is he "by far, the best defenseman" on the team? Not a chance.

**Official** Denver/Seattle Super Bowl Prediction
Foghorn Leghorn replied to stonewall's topic in FFToday Board
Well said. As a Niners fan, I too was shocked at how Gore was shut down. Also, while the Niners were indeed burned repeatedly by the officiating, another huge factor was that Kaepernick didn't do much damage at all in the second half running the ball, after blistering the Seahawks D in the first half. Whether that was due to a bad error on the part of the Niners' gameplan, or adjustments made by the Seahawks, or both, the fact remains that the Seahawks basically eliminated the conventional portion of San Francisco's running game and as a result, without Kaep's running, their offence was for the most part stagnant in the second half (minus the drive at the end of the game). Of course, Denver can use their passing attack to set up the run much better than the Niners can, and they'll need to if they hope to win next weekend. Also, it will be interesting to see who gets the officiating calls in the Peyton vs. physical corners matchup. That will go a long way towards tilting the scales in a tight game. As much as it pains me to say it, unless the Broncos can get into the Seahawks backfield and harass Wilson with the same regularity that the Niners did in the NFC Championship, I see the Hawks winning this thing 31-21. Wilson rarely makes mistakes, and I'm not sure the Broncos' defence is the kind to change that. Christ, I hope I'm wrong. -

This rubber match was in the cards since Week 1. It should be a dandy. -
I've never seen a team get so thoroughly outplayed game after game, while still managing to cling to a playoff spot, like the Leafs.
-
Agreed. I knew going in I needed a miracle from VD. But this, especially when remembering he dropped one that hit him right in the numbers....

So my 50/50 call was right on. Good to see I got SOMETHING right this weekend.

So I need Vernon Davis to beat Patrick Willis by more than 20. Willis - 2.2 Davis - 0 A final fock you to the fantasy gods for seeing to it that my team, highest scoring in my 12-team league, completely and utterly $hits the bed this week. The crash and burn has generated enough heat to keep me warm as I wait for my power to be restored. Fantasy Gods - go eat a bag of sore-covered, feces-dipped d!cks, sprinkled with Ex-Lax. -

Jesus, that PI call was almost as odious as the Whitner penalty. What is the NFL coming to??? -

If that hit by Whitner is a penalty, then the NFL just became non-contact. Absolutely brutal. -
What do you need Monday Night to win the Championship?

Tough call. Hate to say it, but I'm thinking 50/50. -
Anyone still playing in MNF,what do you need
Foghorn Leghorn replied to nzoner's topic in FFToday Board
I need a Festivus Miracle from Vernon Davis. -
Same boat. Newton/Cutler/Tannehill. A whole lot of fecal crapulence out of whomever I opted to start.

Two 97 yard TD catches by Vernon Davis would be a good start. -

So Eddie Lacy gets my opponent 4x the points that Adrian Peterson got me. Peyton the Statpadder hits Julius Thomas (also, who I'm facing) for a meaningless late TD. Darren McFadden, who I released earlier this year to pick up Rashad Jennings, gets even with me with that joke of a leech. Well, the joke's on the Fantasy Gods, because the ice storm that passed through Toronto has left me without power, so I'll likely freeze to death long before today's fiascos really eat away at me too much. Take THAT, Fantasy Gods. :middlefinger: -

Dear Fantasy Football Gods, I'm done with you. Fock off. Warmest regards, Foghorn Leghorn, Esq. -
The guy I'm facing this weekend is sitting Matt Ryan for Cousins....so you can bank on 396 yards and 4 TD for Cousins.

Actually, the Mounties were too busy resuscitating George Parros....yet....again. Sweet Jesus, I can't remember the last time someone got the stuffing knocked out of him so badly so many times. Maybe Rob Ray or Nick Kypreos....or maybe Leaping Lanny Poffo.

Exactly how does that answer my question? To me, it was obviously interference - anybody who's actually played hockey would know that, as Eriksson never touched the puck. You keep saying "most" people, when that is a tad disingenuous. I've heard a split right down the middle, with the Don Cherrys of this world saying it was a good hit. So you really want, to use your words, the King of the Mouthbreathers on your side? I don't think the hit was dirty, and I didn't think Gryba's hit on Eller was, either. But Gryba was suspended....my beef is, why does Orpik not get the same treatment, when the precedent was set about 6 months ago? Because it would pi$$ off Crosby and Lemieux, that's why.
-
My alternatives are Danny Woodhead and DeAngelo Williams (Jennings is my other starter). So the answer to your question is "yes", unless I hear he's 50/50 to start over the next couple of days. Injury is the ONLY way Peterson leaves my starting lineup.
