Dude picked up another $ 20 today. I asked him if he wanted to run a March Madness pool here at the office and his eyes grew as big as Frisbies. This guy worries me.

But it was the 1st game of Spring training and it wasn't even full squads. Still I'm starting to wonder if this guy has some inside info. He turns around and puts his $ 20 winnings ON the Nats today to beat the Tigers and they're winning after 7 innings. I'm going to keep an eye on this dude. He's relatively new and I haven't got a bead on him yet. We'll see.

So I go into a coworker's office and he's listening to mlb.com like it's game 7 of WS. I start to talk and he hushes me. Then he cusses as the inning ends. I go what's up and the whacko tells me he has 2 dimes on the Astros. WTF? It's the 1st game of the Spring and the Nats don't even have a full squad on the road. Holy shxt!

In the ACC there's still a chance 8 teams get in. Of course there's a chance only 4 get in. Your scenario of 6 sounds right but Maryland not VaTech is the wild card here. The Terps made some very stupid mistakes by getting thumped by Morgan State and even Georgetown but they were early. The committee looks at late season games with more positive effect. Of course the Terps were soundly beaten by Clemson by 29 points. To make the Dance, in my opinion Maryland must beat both NC State and Virginia and even that remains iffy. But then they almost have to beat either Duke tomorrow night or Wake on March 3. That's 20 wins in a tough conference with a .500 conference record. To only win 2 of these 4 would end the season at 19-11 with an 8-8 conference record. That would almost assuredly mean the Terps would have to win 2 Tournament games. Possible. So, I see the Terps getting in making 7 ACC schools dancing. Of course I live 10 minutes from the Comcast Center so I may be tripping. Still, the fun is now just beginning for College Basketball. Beating North Carolina is fine but the Terps have beaten them 8 out the last 11 times they've played them. Not too shabby for an underachieving squad.

My wife and I earned some 'cash' income recently. Just $ 1000. Instead of banking it and maybe having to pay taxes, we put it in an envelope and stashed it under some summer clothing in our secondary closet. We were going to wait until Spring and possibly go to the beach for Memorial Day weekend. Nothing definite. So, I had the chance to double it by placing a bet that Carolina and Tennessee would be in the Super Bowl. I thought it was a lock. So without her knowledge I took it and made the bet. She would first kill me for making such a stupid bet and secondly she kill me for not telling her. And of course she'd kill me for losing the wad. Well, I don't know exactly what happened but her conniving sister came by last Saturday and they drank margaritas all afternoon. When her sister left, my wife noticed that the secondary closet door had been left open. I guess she figured her no account sister was in there and she checked for the money and it was obviously gone. Then she comes crying to me yesterday saying she could not hid it from me any longer and that her sister took the money. Worse yet she was crying hard and apologizing profusely. I acted sort of mad just not to give it away but ............ What do I do? Seriously, what do I do?

I didn't know that she knew I read and posted here. I love her dearly and would never step out on her. With her sister or anybody else. guys.
