I assume you guys have seen these commercials. I had never seen one installed until yesterday. At least I saw part of one. I was giving a homeowner a cost mark up on replacing their upper level Heat Pump, attic application.. There it was, partially complete. Of course I inquired about what I was seeing. The homeowners had it installed for their aging grandparent who was living there. The grandparent was not happy with it. Too slow and a bit unwieldy. Admittedly, she was a bit overweight but under the weight limit that the contraption called for.. And one of the children was riding it when they dragged their foot and tumbled right down the steps. The woman of the house was so angry that she ripped the chair portion loose by herself. It was lying nearby. As far as the cost, it was originally under a thousand dollars but the final price was $1899.00 Furthermore, if they are supposed to be so safe, whty did their homeowners insurance rate go up. Anybody have one .. or even seen one installed.

I am in my 40s now and have never smoked cigarettes. Wife did for 20 years but quit 5 years ago. Neither of my teenaged boys do.

It's a cold rainy day in the Delmarva and my divorce will be (might be, could be) final at midnight tonight. I have 2 choices. 1) I could continue living in my (our) home albeit in the basement while my estranged (but not legally divorced) wife continues to live in the upper level master suite. 2 teenage sons also live here. And I still am 1/2 owner of said premise. Did I mention that said wife can do ANY DAMN THING SHE WANTS. Obviously, sexually but also with all homeowner decisions. I forfeit any say in anything. or 2) I can sign divorce decree, move out, wait for home to sell and get half. Obviously, no direct connection with my boys since visitation would be negotiated. As well as child support.

It backfired on both of them. My wife wanted her sister to flirt with me to see how far I'd go. Problem: we both got drunk and did it. I'm sorry. I was wrong. But ......

I don't want to ... and my kids want me around. My wife just wanted to be in control. We still been doing the nasty which is one major reason the Judge chucked this. He said you can't litigate by day and fornicate by night (in the same house).

Well this morning the honorable Judge has decreed that all my wife's claims concerning settlement is bogus. Bottom line :: I'm now living in the upper level suite whether she wants to continue doing so or not. We are still married.

A few weeks ago our (HVAC/Plumbing) company sent a Technician to a rural home that was having Plumbing issues. It was an older widowed lady living alone. It seems she was having a whistling noise coming from her Master Bedroom's Bathroom sink .. but only when her window was open. It took our Tech 2 minutes to figure out it was bird's whistling in the trees near the house. So he called our Office and was told not to charge her anything. He did and the old woman said the last company charged her $1300 to 'fix' it. Our Tech, (Delbert, age 40ish) was so angry that he went to that previous company's office (where he actually worked back in 2010-2012) and raised hell. Then our boss called the local NBC TV affiliate and explained. Later we got a letter (yes, a letter) from the old woman saying that she got $1131 of her original payment back and would call us in the future if she needed anything. Then yesterday, her name popped up in the Obituarys.

If she wants to rearrange stuff or tear down a shed, I don't care but I'm pretty sure she can't sell it from under me. Ownership was key in this. Taxes, etc. We don't fight or even argue loudly. Really never did. Kids don't deserve that.

Again, I agree. Probst handles things pretty well. I like that he's not up in your grill. Plus, he's gotta live away from his home many months out of the year. And even though his shack is fully equipped, he still has to walk around with all those rats and snakes .. and wild rodents. (see what I did there?)

We agree; great episode. We disagree re: talking/whispering at Tribal. I actually thought there was some type instructions concerning it but we've seen some over the history of the show. And even if there was, last night was the FIRST TIME EVER 2 Tribes and 1 voted out. Regardless, I think Jeff played it perfectly as far as letting the players play. As a residential HVAC Engineer & Design specialist, I often times must explain to builders and/or homeowners what is best for their Heating & Cooling application and what pricing is appropriate. Earlier this week I was explaining SEER rating to a lady who was getting upset that she couldn't understand it. While in discussion, I accidently let a small piece of spital fly into her neck. Small as in about half the size of this --> o Now I have been on both sides of this accidental faux pas in the past. I usually just ignore it or wipe it away without further comment. The lady first wipes at it then wipes again like it was a splash and finally starts yelling aloud it. Wasn't long before her husband and the builder come upstairs where we were. He says what happened and she replies that I spit in her face because she couldn't understand SEER ratings. Her husband who wasn't that big grabs me by my coat and starts jerking me around. I let the physicality go at first while explaining the accident but he keeps trying to manhandle me. So I pop him one. I'm not a fighter and don't know how to knock anybody out but my uppercut drops the guy. So I gotta get a lawyer. If I'm found not guilty, my company pays for it; if I'm at fault, I pay.

Answer is always use 2 zones on a 3 level residence. But 3.5 tons ain't gonna do it. Maybe 3.5 tons on the lower level zone and 1.5 - 2 tons on attic application. Carrier good. Trane good. All others not so as good.

I doubt anyone cares but opposing counsel dropped their 'threat' of litigation. My company's attorney did not. Long story short; we are still the HVAC Contractor .. and our price went up $1250.

As a social left leaning but fiscal conservative Independent, I do agree with the points that you make. But this has been going on for 25 years or more. Through both political parties' administrations. And NOTHING gets done. Whomever is really running our Country (maybe Freemasons) is keeping things status quo. I've been in the Construction industry since the 1990s. Back in the day when I would travel to homes being built, to work up HVAC bidding pricing, if there were 10 workers or so on site, maybe one MAYBE would be a non English speaking Latino and there'd be a bilingual translater to help him. Honestly now out of 10 workers, all but one speak no English at all. The Builders pine about needing them at lower wages to make a profit. Actually it's to make MORE of a profit. So, to me, the easiest way to confront this issue of illegal aliens is to go after the Contractors. BUT they haven't .. and I think that's how the REAL leaders of the world want it (foe reasons unknown to me).

I included Patsy Ramsey in my query and someone questioned whether she actually did it and that the son, Burke may have killed JonBenet. This brings me to another question for you all. If you are married and have have 2 children and one KILLS the other and you know it, would you try to cover it up or would you claim it accidental. Or would the killing of one of your two children cause you to, in anger and hurt, let the other take full blame. Patsy has now died and the father has remarried. The son, Burke is now 29. Me = I would do most anything for my 2 boys BUT if one killed the other, I may hire a lawyer for him but I don't think I'd try and cover it up. Also, just for the record, I believe Casey Anthony to be the worst to murderer to get away with it.
