Anyone use a site to manage your league's finance's? Maybe give some info on how they actually work? I've looked at a few, SportsVault and LeagueSafe. LeagueSafe says it's free but as you dig deeper there's a 3% charge for credit/debit cards. SportsVault says it's 100% free but I think it says the winnings can't be more than the entry fee. Just seems a bit confusing. They make it seem like it's easy and free. Not sure if that's the case. I've ran a free league for years, a few years ago we tried playing for money and was a disaster collecting from everyone. If I can make it easy, i may give it another shot. Since half of the league is scattered across the country, anyway I can make use of a credit card for payment would make it a lot easier. Any info you have on your experiences would be greatly appreciated!

It took some messing around with but I was finally able to save the playSound.scptd. Safari saved it with ".html" at the end then I removed it once I had it saved on my desktop. Not sure if this is a compressed file like a zip file but it doesn't do much when I try to open it. Anyway, I have this file and the draft buddy saved on my desktop. When i try to play a sound i get a Microsoft Visual Basic error, "Run-time error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument." I'm running Office 2011 for Mac. Any thoughts?

Still did the same thing. The sound file is only 5K in size. Seems like it didn't download correctly.

I've got the same dilemma, but no PPR. I'm leaning towards Jackson, but not by much just because it seems to be the safer pick. Forte has been almost non-existent except for a few huge games. I don't expect to see another monster week from him this week against a tough run defense.

I got some pretty decent running backs and need WR's in a desperate way. I was offered Colston for Jamal Charles and was hoping to sell high on him coming off a somewhat decent game, but Colston seems to be off and Brees has a bunch of targets and spreads the ball around with the best of them. What are your thoughts on Colston going forward? He's definately got the skill to explode, but putting up only 25 yards when Brees throws for 350+ and 3 TD's doesn't look promising.

I think baltimore will throw the ball more with Boldin now on the team, but I'm just not all aboard the Joe Flacco band wagon. He's a pretty good QB, but the Ravens are a running team and RR is one of the best in the league with the O-line. I think he will see more goal line opportunities even with McGahee. I'd feel very good about drafting him at 6, even a pick or two earlier.

I'm not buying all the hype. If he's there late in the 2nd, i'll think about grabbing him but probably not till the 3rd if he's still there - and if he's not, then I'm not going to sweat it. Too much of a risk for a 1st or early 2nd round pick. I'd rather go for better value in going for Jahvid Best a few rounds later who COULD perform just as good, but with less risk involved since it's a few rounds later.

2 year ago i used this same strategy and took home the championship, last year i went for the more traditional drafting method of targeting RB's mostly because we get 6 points for all TD's so the QB's went early (6 in the first round last year). Long story short, my RB's bombed for me (I thought LT2 was going to have a bounce-back year, I was dead wrong). I'm going back to going for a QB in the 1st then go for some of my targeted RB's a little later (4th-6th rounds), otherwise I'll stock on WR's until some of my targeted RB's in the early middle rounds. If you can get those diamond in the rough RB's in the later rounds, which you should be able to easily find with some homework, then I think you're getting the best value. I want my first 2 or 3 picks to be as low-risk as possible and getting a top QB is pretty low risk. Plus, I feel that WR's are so unpredictable, so I want to get the ones at the top to minimize risk. Then i'll gamble on the RB's because they can perform almost just as good as the ones at the top if you get the right ones. But if i can draft one of the top 4 RB's I'll go that direction and hope for a decent QB in the 2nd. I also like to target those handfuff'd RB's in the later rounds (after the 8th) in case the starter gets hurt (which is a pretty good gamble).

I just want to thank everyone for their contributions on this post. I found it extremely helpful in piecing together my draft stategy. Amazing what happens without all the useless nonsense of just ripping people back and forth.

With QB's getting 6 points for a TD, I've always drafted them extremely high, usually in the 1st or 2nd round and it's paid off extremely well for me. Last year, the other owners went the same route - 5 QB's were taken in the 1st round. Going with value, I decided to hold off and stock up on the available RB's and WR's and for whatever reason, it bombed for me. I'm going into the draft this year hoping for a top 5 QB again unless someone who I really want is available (unless i draft in the top 3, then i'm going RB). I goes against all logic of drafting players based off value, but i just didn't work for me. You can't rule out the fact that i drafted bad players last year though, which seems more likely.

All 3 are sharing the carries so if you go based off the matchup, Wells should be the guy. If Arizona gets an early lead, look for them to get the running game going.

My leagues are all 6 pts for TD's and almost always shoot for a top QB in the first round and has worked out pretty good for me with everyone else looking for RB's. Of course last year I went with Brady and still won the Championship so now really trying to think this one out. Obviously on the flip side, you can still wait for the 3rd, 4th or 5th rounds (for a 10-team league) for Rivers, Rodgers or maybe even Manning and still be looking extremely good. My question is that with 6 pts for throwing TD's (non-PPR and starting the norm: 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, K, DEF), how early is TOO early for drafting a QB? I'm thinking after ADP and MJD, I may go QB as early as the 3rd pick. What do you think?

In all my league's when I'm stuck at a spot like the 5th or 6th pick, i just go with a QB. Since all of my leagues, QB's get 6 points for a passing TD they are a little more valuable than the other positions. Most of the time it works out that the other owners start going for QB's in the 2nd and 3rd rounds so that's when I can clean up on some half-decent RB's or WR's. The problem with this is the point difference between a top QB and a 15th ranks QB isn't nearly as much as say the RB position. So you're not getting any better value for you're pick. But when torn between players in a crappy draft spot, you're pretty much screwed either way and I feel QB's are less risky. . . . unless of course, you draft Brady in 2 leagues like I did last year. Then you're completely screwed (still brought home the trophy though). HTH

We do our Championship game this week. I'm up 28 and my opponent only has Akers. The trophy was dropped off for engraving this morning and i got $700 coming my way.

Obviously, you gotta go with LT2. Even though he's had a not-so-good year, you still gotta start him regardless of the matchup. As for the other position, personally, i'd go with Slaton because he's been more consistant that MJD in fantasy points this year. MJD has had some huge days, but he's also had some days where he didn't produce a whole lot. Thanks for mine.

Hightower was great a few weeks ago but was a bust on MNF vs San Fran L. White has been money for me all year with TD's but not much in yards Betts looks to be the man tonight vs Dallas, but how effective will he be? I can only start two, who do you say?
