Is OBJ a bust if he no-shows this weekend?
CheeseCake replied to jgcrawfish's topic in FFToday Board
I am happy I traded him 2 weeks ago. Ironically my first loss was to the person I traded him to though. -
I am going to hold on to him I think. People always on New England running backs but honestly I think they are undervalued. Law firm was a decent back for New England a few seasons ago and I predict a similar projectory. There isn't a lot of running back depth this year. I see him ending the season 10-15 in rankings.

I traded him. Honestly I don't like the drops. Plus he has to fight two others for the ball. No thanks. -
WDIS: Pick 2, non ppr; DeMarco Murray, Doug Martin, TJ Yeldon, LeGarette Blount

Broncos Seahawks Super Bowl imo with Peyton winning it.

The difference I think is that Dalton has the ability to win you games. Newton just is able to screw around and put up numbers.

Not at all. My choice of ROY has nothing to do with INTELLIGENCE. It has to do with OPINION. But since you probably get those two mixed up, I'll explain what cannabis does to intelligence too. When I smoked almost daily last year, I got two As and two Bs. Now that I moved to a different school in the southern US, my grades are straight Bs and Cs. Is this cause and effect? It could be. HTH.

Or how bout just legalizing weed because it's pretty much less harmful than caffeine, and because it makes me happy?
-
No. In this case though, I would take Dalton (who might lead his team into the post season, with a 7-5 record so far, throwing 17 td to 12 int) over Cam Newton (who won't make the post season, with a 4-8 record so far, throwing 13 td to 14 int). So yes, I would take the player who clearly has led his team more successfully for ROY. Did any of you pass basic mathematics?

Is Newton a playoff contender this year? No. Is Dalton? Maybe. Oh by the way my friend, if Dalton wins just one more game this year he doubles the record too.
-
Ok we'll play by your rules. Dalton is still better. Dalton has thrown seventeen touchdowns and only twelve interceptions in an offense with Cedric Benson and AJ Green, a first year inexperienced player, as his two offensive focal points. What does Newton have? He has a two time Super Bowl champ in Jeremy Shockey, Greg Olsen (highly underrated), Johnathan Stewart, and Steve Smith. He still has more interceptions than passing TDs. Both of the defenses are equally bad. You cannot say the Bengals have a better defense when they have lost four starting defensive backs this year, and were shredded apart by Pittsburgh Sunday. Cincinnatti's defense has just been playing better and has been better coached overall, but the talent level is still pretty tame. The only other difference is that Newton hawks goal line touchdowns as someone already said. If I wanted running touchdowns I could use a running back, so those aren't too impressive. Passing wise, though, which is what a quarterback, should be compared by, Dalton is better no question.

Come back to me when Sham Newton has a winning record.
-
Dalton: 7-5 Newton 4-8 Cincinnati in 2010: 4-12 Carolina in 2010: 2-14 So far Dalton has won three more games than Palmer last year, and has led the Bengals into a winning season. Newton, while barely able to throw the ball and cannot distinguish the difference between a wide-receiver and a cornerback, has improved the record by two games, and is still carrying a losing record. Statistics don't mean much when you are still losing games. It's not even a debate.

He's still bad.

Yards don't mean #### if you're going to LOSE MOST OF THE GAMES AND THROW 22 INTERCEPTIONS. So what records is he going to break besides passing yards. Is it the interception record? The least amount of wins record? Rushing touchdowns do count. I never said otherwise. I did say, however, that I prefer an efficient passing quarterback over a guy such as Newton who just rushes for scores. Newton is a FANTASY FOOTBALL quarterback. Not a great NFL quarterback. He's good, maybe average, but he isn't rookie of the year material when others such as Dalton have clearly done better.
-
Cam Newton has not scored more points than his opponent. And I meant he has a poor touchdown-interception ratio to all you who quoted me. I guess I value keeping the ball in my possession over more people here. If you think throwing more interceptions than half of the league means rookie of the year, then I suppose we have different opinions. The running touchdowns is all he has going for him. It may work right now, and I'd he could throw the ball, he would be top five. His running game won't last his whole career, and when that starts to happen and assuming he'll throw his interceptions, he'll be an average QB. Maybe even less.
-
Newton has thrown about the same amount of touchdowns as he has thrown touchdowns. You could factor in the amount of touchdowns he has scored rushing, but I'd like to see my QB be an effective passer before he has to rush outside of the pocket. This is what a running back is for. This is why I wouldn't consider him rookie of the year.

Bradychick hasn't won the Super Bowl since 2004. That was 7 years ago. I think it's getting apparent that they aren't what they once were. In all honesty I think Eli Manning's victory over The Patriots in XLII was the start of the end. They'll be good, but I think they'll just be a competitor and not make it to the Super Bowl for quite a while.

If that were the case he'd still get a paycheck. So for him it would be a free pass to get free cash just by saying yeah that's a good idea.

Sad news...RB J.Harrison diagnosed with brain tumor
CheeseCake replied to dreen626's topic in FFToday Board
Well once you get a brain cancer you're pretty much dead. Sh!t kills you. -
I am playing Graham and Murray this week. It could be worse.
-
Guess who'll never be drafted by me again.
-
The guy had eight catches, that's a fair amount people. He can put up numbers. If anything I'll blame Flac, the QB makes the wideout.
