Homers - Who has been the stand out in Training camp for your respective team
Smirk replied to OrangeSoda's topic in FFToday Board
Trequan Smith, Rookie WR from UCF has absolutely shined with the Saints. He will have a role this year without question. It will be hard to get receptions with Thomas, Ginn, Meredith, Kamara getting the bulk of passes thrown their way, but he has just been awesome. I expect his role to increase as the season goes on. If you have the luxury, draft and stash him. Not fantasy relevant unless you're IDP, but S Marcus Williams has had the best camp of EVERYONE on the team. That includes Brees, Lattimore, Jordan, MT, etc. He has been amazing and has had an INT in almost every practice. -
Champions check in......12th spot draft pick....

As with any draft, there is no set plan. I'll see who is available. But RB is so shallow this year, and WR so deep, the ideal scenario would be RB/RB, or even RB/RB/RB, then run on WRs and QB later. Obviously, it just depends on how it falls. In my league, there could be Saints homers, so if say Drew Brees and Graham go round 1, then some good RBs could have fallen. If everyone goes RB early, that its pretty impossible to pass on Calvin Johnson. The guy picking in front of me is a really shrewd, experienced drafter, so that will be interesting. At 12, I always think the most about these things: 1) Value, 2) What runs will happen in the many picks until my next one and 3) Who will NOT be available. -
Payton said that Moore is limited but had a "good day" today. I think he plays. Adrian Arrington is a former Michigan player who was a late round pick for the Saints a few years ago that has been either injured or on the PS off and on. He's played great in Preseason before and done squat at practice, very up and down. He finally made the roster as the 6th WR, but is really the 5th since Roby is mainly a ST player.
-
The Saints have not been required to disclose his practice status until today. Payton will say something at his presser, although he is very tight-lipped. He will either say "limited" or DNP. If he says limited I would bet he plays. Lance was on WWL870AM's players show last night and would not discuss whether he was practicing. He would just say he's "getting better every day".

As a Saints fan all I have to say is: Just wait.
-
Am I the only one that would rather have Sam Bradford? 2nd year, had a great rookie campaign, and Josh McDaniels at OC means they are going to throw the ball a lot.
-
I'm gonna hold on to Kolb to see what he does, but I picked up Orton. Garrard, Cassel, Vick, and Hasselbeck are also available in my league.
-
I'm starting him at the flex for sure. I'm starting Rice and Charles with him, and leaving Stewart on the bench for Caddy. Hell I debated not starting Rice this week v. the Jets, but I'll stick with the old adage, "Never bench your studs".
-
Don't bench your stud. Period. People out think themselves every week.

You should be a bit scared at QB. In a 2 QB league, I would go QB a little earlier, even in a 10 team (sigh) league. I really think Carson will have a bounce back year and do really well. Flacco will be consistent, but nothing special. You are absolutely owning at RB. MJD, Deangelo and RBrown with Davis and Bradshaw on the bench will be ridiculous most weeks. You're fine at WR, although in a 10 team league depth could be a bit better. Watch the situation in Arizona. If Warner goes down, pick up Leinart and see what he does. How does starting a HC work? I don't get that. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=349294

How many teams? I really like LT and Gore this year, that's a great(!) duo to have starting. After that, you are REALLY thin. Jamal Lewis is likely to be relatively worthless this year...he probably won't be starting midway through. Edge - no one knows but I wouldn't count on him. And I like Peyton Hillis a lot late, but at some point Knowshon is going to start. Housh and 85, while not "topnotch" starters are both going to produce. Your depth here is decent too. Cotchery, Chambers, Ginn and Gage are all decent for bye week depth. I think you need to scan the WW as the season goes on for RB depth. You need to be very active at that. If you pick up a gem there (and there are a few every year that come from no where), you will have a decent team. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=349294

I don't have a lot of experience in IDP, but that looks like a pretty good team. You are absolutely set at RB. Seriously, that's some great depth there. If Rice or McCoy blow up, you may be able to trade on down the line to get better at WR or IDP. At aren't spectacular at WR, but solid. Don't worry about TE...I have Shiancoe and Keller rated in the top 10 of TEs. You're fine there. IDP, I'd rather not comment on as I don't know enough about it. Its a 12 team league (as I do say in the very first sentence ) I picked 2nd, serpentine.

12 Team League Standard Scoring: Passing: 1/25 4td -1 INT Rushing/Recieving: 1/10 6td Start: QB, RB RB RB/WR WR WR TE K D QB: Matt Schaub RB: Maurice Jones-Drew, Kevin Smith, Ryan Grant, Leon Washington, James Davis, Peyton Hillis WR: TJ Housh, Vincent Jackson, Eddie Royal, Domenik Hixon, Earl Bennett TE: Dustin Keller DEF: Steelers K: Laurence Tynes I realize a couple of things. I'm going to have to stay active on the WW at Wr and maybe TE,and I'm going to need to watch Schaub like a hawk for injury. Otherwise, I'm feeling ok about it. Give me your honest opinions and I'll rate yours!

From twitter: Wwltvsports~Pierre Thomas is not dressed out and hobbling around on the field today. Jeff Duncan~The good news from prax: Reggie Bush is working. The bad news: Pierre Thomas is not. And he's pretty gimpy on that right knee. Just FYI. It isn't considered serious. Its a sprained MCL, MRIs confirmed. He'll be ready for the opener.
