Im just looking to sart or join a free league
escot4 replied to kilroy69's topic in Find A League, Fill A League
If you're interested, you can join my league. I'm still trying to get more owners before our draft time. The last two years I was able to get a full 10 teams, so I should be able to fill it at the last minute again this year. It's a yahoo league with IDPs also. Almost the same scoring settings as this site. Here are the settings: League ID#: 192838 League Name: Competitive Offense/Defense Password: playtowin Draft Type: Live Draft Draft Time: Sun Aug 31 8:45am PDT [ Add to My Calendar ] Max Teams: 10 Scoring Type: Head-to-Head Start Scoring on: Week 1 Can't Cut List Provider: Yahoo! On yahoo, click "join custom," type in the league ID# (192838) and password (playtowin), and you're good to go. -

Competitive owners wanted! We only have 4 players at this moment, but I have a couple others that I know will be joining, and I'm looking for more owners. I always make sure to get a full 10 team league, but I'm especially looking for competitive owners who really know the game. The owners that have joined so far were pretty solid in my league last year. To join, just go to yahoo fantasy football, click "join custom" then type in the league ID# (192838) and password (playtowin). I'm probably using Stecker, especially now that Takeo Spikes is out. I get the feeling Addai will only get 10-15 touches in the game, but it's tough to bench him. Edge hasn't been producing lately, but he's facing the Falcons. Kolby Smith is going against the benevolent Lions run defense. If Larry Johnson plays, I'll just bench Smith, but if he's out, which 3 should I use?
-
Romo without a doubt. It's also a way of hedging your bets since you're facing the team with TO and Witten. I would be cautious about McNabb vs. New Orleans because the Saints are trying to get in the playoffs and have a lot more to play for than the Eagles do. Romo had one bad game, but has been money all year other than that, and they still have home field advantage to play for.
-
Thomas Jones vs. PHI Chris Brown @ TB Warrick Dunn vs. NYG It seems like kind of a toss up. The one that I am almost sure to use is Jones because he averages more touches than the other two. Also, it is a PPR league, so that makes me lean a little toward Dunn as well. Suggestions? I'd be happy to answer yours too.
-
I would go with Crayton. I'm using him this week, and NE should pay a lot of attention to TO.
-
anyone else want to weigh in?
-
1) Kitna- He is far more valuable than the other two. He throws the ball way more, has great receivers to throw to, and racks up yards every week (except last week). 2) Young- His ability to get rush yards and TDs makes up for his poor passing stats somewhat. 3) Cutler- He is still not proven and can be inconsistent. He's capable of having huge numbers but you want more consistency out of your fantasy QB. The players around him have injury issues too. He's pretty close behind Young though.
-
Do you need a WR specifically for this week? I'm guessing yes, because long term none of those receivers are very enticing. If it's for this week, I would pick up Bryant Johnson since Anquan is doubtful. I would drop Rhodes unless you're planning on using him this week. I expect Jordan to be back next week, and even if he's not, Rhodes still will split carries with Fargas. Brandon Jackson is very dropable as well.
-
I'm leaning toward yes, but it depends on a few things. Do you start 2 or 3 WRs? How many fantasy points per game are Young and Eli averaging so far? I'm thinking that having the 6 points for passing TD setting makes Eli a lot more valuable.
-
I agree that Watson is the choice if Rudi is out. If Rudi plays, I would go with Fargas. I don't like his matchup much against SD (since I'm a Charger fan) but he should get more carries than the other two. Norwood and Williams haven't shown much all season.
-
I'd go Driver, Branch, and Holmes. Driver is a given. I think Branch is going to continue to have a breakout year, and Holmes should be targeted a lot with Ward out. Marshall is a good option as well with Walker out, but I wouldn't bench Branch or Holmes for him.
-
That could help both teams. Not bad. I like how you put the first and last name of Jennings and McDonald, when there are no other receivers with those names, but abbreviated C.Johnson when there are two high-profile C.Johnson's. I'm guessing it's Chad though.
-
DROP FARGAS!!! I can't believe you would consider dropping guys with values as high as Ward and Santana when you have a guy on your team that will never be able to crack the lineup. He had one good game, but he is not going to be getting touches like that again.
-
In that case, you could drop Pittman. He probably wouldn't crack your lineup anyway unless a few backs were injured or on bye.
-
Benson and Evans again. Muhammad wouldn't have even entered my mind as an option in this case.
-
Dayne would be good for this week if Green is out. Miami has been using the bend, but also break philosophy against the run so far this year.
-
Drop Fargas. This is a no-brainer to me. He may have had the sexy numbers last week, but even if Jordan isn't healthy, Rhodes is back and they will use a committee backfield. If Jordan is healthy, then he's the guy and Fargas will have VERY little value. Either way, he won't have another game like last week. Then pick up Andre Davis to help you for a couple weeks.
-
Ward. Although Jacobs is back, Ward will still get a decent amount of touches. Michael Jenkins is a threat to put up 1 catch for 12 yards on any given week. He's too inconsistent for me to ever use.
-
Your receiving corps is very good and deep as is. I wouldn't even mess with it. Like you said, it's too early to bail on Evans. Holmes is playing very well, and your top 3 are very good. To drop a RB would hurt your depth there a little, and would just make it harder to decide each week who to use at receiver. As good as Galloway is, I don't think you need him.
-
I'm one of those "never bench your studs" guys, especially if they're RBs, so I still say Gore. I know Gore has had 2 bad games in a row (not 3), but the guy still has 3 TDs in 4 games. I know his matchup isn't good either, but he will get more touches than Crayton and is at least as likely to score a TD. If you really want to play Crayton though, go with what you think. I know it's annoying to watch your guy that you benched go off on Monday night football.
-
Your post made me mad. You have Jon Kitna, and you say you have a QB problem? Try having Jason Campbell and David Carr as your only QBs. Anyway, all bitterness aside, I think you're worrying too much. All you need is a bye week fill-in for Kitna week 6. You could just get a QB off waivers who has a good matchup that week. It's close between Benson and Jacobs, but I'd say Jacobs because I think he'll find the endzone. The Jets have given up 4 rushing TDs this year, while GB hasn't given up any.
-
What's the rest of your team? I think you'll regret giving up either of those guys for the season just to get somebody for a week. I definitely wouldn't go with a Falcons receiver or Brandon Jones. No consistency there. Davis could be good this week, but probably won't have much value over the course of the season. I don't like the idea of dropping either guy.
-
Probably not what you want to hear, but I'd go Evans without question. Edwards was looking for him all day last week, and they should get behind and have to air it out a lot. I know Newman is a very good cover corner, but the Cowboys' safeties do get beat deep, and I expect Evans to get behind them at least once. Evans has the highest breakout potential, and I don't think he'll be invisible like he was when Losman (who wasn't looking his way much) was in.
-
Hagan does get a decent amount of snaps for Miami (not saying much), but yeah, Copper is the least bad option at this point. I like that you have a deep league, because if you know more about the lesser known players you can really gain an advantage over the guys who just go for the recognizable names.
