  1. I'm sitting here with Boone, Lindsay, and Drake....no idea what to do.

If Mattison could come back then its between those 2. Who would you guys start? If Mattison doesn't come back though then I'm going with Boone.

  2. Gurley & Mostert - double down on this game. I don't expect this game to get "out of hand" one way or the other...this bodes well for both players to have excellent games even though its tough defenses. I don't like Chubb...Baltimore is a completely different team now than they were before. I think hes a total bust this week because Mayfield will be playing from behind and gonna be turning the ball over. Don't bet against the #1 team in the league in your championship....don't do it.

WRs - Do NOT go with Edelman or Moore...really bad plays this week. Go big or go home...Diggs / TY Hilton. Pick up Perriman and replace Diggs if you can though.

Flex - Mack - double down on the Colts too...everyone has been destroying Carolina and these 2 should put up some points for sure.

    good luck.

  3. Really tough decisions this week guys...I've bolded the positions that are up in the air for me. All of my bench players have excellent match-ups and some positive games of late. I don't know what to do!

    Standard scoring. 12 teams.

    QB - Aaron Rodgers @Min

    RB - Christian McCaffrey @Indy

RB - Mike Boone .vs. GB

WR - DeVante Parker .vs. Cin

WR - A.J. Brown .vs. NO

    TE - Hunter Henry @Oak

    DST - Ravens @Cle

BENCH RB's: Do I go with Boone because of one week...? Or do I play Lindsay like I've been playing all season, or do I play the recently hot Drake? This is a tough one. And while I don't think Cook comes back this week...what if Mattison does?

    Phillip Lindsay .vs. Det

    Kenyan Drake @Sea

BENCH WR's: I feel pretty confident in my choices, but Winston is on fire and Perriman is getting the looks...I love the other guys match-ups too but I just can't see myself replacing them in a slot above unless you have a reason.

    Breshad Perriman .vs. Hou

    Mike Williams .vs. Oak

    DK Metcalf .vs. Ari

Waiver Wire QB's: Don't feel comfortable with A-Rod...do I "R-E-L-A-X" or do I get desperate?

    Tom Brady .vs. BUF

    Jimmy Garoppolo .vs. LAR

    Jared Goff @SF

    Baker Mayfield .vs. BAL

    Gardner Mindshew @ATL

    Andy Dalton @MIA

    Daniel Jones @WSH

     ---------------------------------------------

    My competition:

    QB - Lamar Jackson @Cle

    RB - Alvin Kamara @Ten

    RB - Devin Singletary @NE

WR - Julian Edelman .vs. Buf

WR - Allen Robinson .vs. KC

    TE - Darren Waller @LAC

    DST - 49ers .vs. LAR

    ---------------------------------------------

He could have snatched up Perriman and Boone because I was down to $0 FAAB but he slept on them! Do you guys think I'll win? I feel pretty good about this given the state of his roster. I'm worried I'm going to overthink my situation and make a poor substitution, but I really want to know if you guys think I should substitute anyone and why?

Just as I'm thorough in my post...I'll be thorough in my response to you as well. Really appreciate your time and advice.

    *WHIR*

  4. 14 team. Keeper league.

    1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX, 1 DEF

    My team:

QB - Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins

WR - Josh Gordon, Corey Davis, Will Fuller, Alshon Jeffery

RB - James Conner, Jay Ajayi, Royce Freeman, Kenyan Drake, Dion Lewis

    TE - Kyle Rudolph

    DEF - Titans

TRADE (FLEX player) --- My Kenyan Drake for his Mike Williams

Drake has been awful. The O-Line is missing its LG and C for season. Gase will change things up on offense...but when? And will he continue to split with Gore as hes been doing?

Mike Williams has been what I thought he'd be. He could end up being a #2 indefinitely in a solid air attack for years. I feel like this trade is a no brainer as far as the future is concerned (Mike Williams went undrafted in my league, so if he broke out and I kept him for next year he'd be $1...I spent $25 on Drake this season in the draft.

But as for THIS season...i'd hate to see Drake turn it around and then I suffer a loss (e.g. Conner is benched for rest of season for Le'veon Bell and then I'm hurting in depth rest of year.) ....

    Thoughts?

  5. PICK 1:

Mahomes - faces Jags DEF...but ballsy to sit the best QB in NFL this year

    or

Cousins? - missing cook, will throw a lot. question is - does the O-Line hold up?

    PICK 2:

Corey Davis, - just broke out last week (finally)

Alshon Jeffery, - comes back and scores and 100 yards in first game, torched them for 80 yards and 2 TD's last year in playoffs

Will Fuller, - this dude just scores TDs...insane, but his hamstring has been an issue

    PICK 2:

Jay Ajayi, - face 6.4 defenders in box per game ( best in NFL ) might try to control possession in this game against Vikes

Dion Lewis - lots of potential for pass targets in this game

Royce Freeman - TD in last 3 games, but no value if he doesn't score...facing decent jets rush D

  6. R E L A X....relax boys.

I warned about this in the original Drake thread. I said Gase was gonna be running HIS offense finally. That meant HURRY UP and LOTS of passing. He finally has HIS guys (intellectually capable, fast, and selfless.)

But are we gonna play like this the entire season? Is it possible we've been holding back a lot of plays? Is it possible that its because we intend on shredding the Patriots this week like we did on the ground last year?

    Calling it now:

Drake gets a respectable 120 combined yards and a TD this week in NE.

  7. Im getting offered both D. Lewis and R. Freeman at RB. Freeman seems to have a slightly better schedule. Who to take?

Who would you be trading for them?

I was very high on Royce until this unknown took 50% and went off. I was not high on Dion Lewis at all. But after week 1 things are up in the air. Lets see how this week plays out and then make your decision based on that.

My gut would be Royce. I don't trust TEN's lack of tackles, QB uncertainty, and their TE going down. None of those are good things.

  8. This is really a tough one guys. I mean....3 legitimate RB's (albeit might share carries a bit or have injuries to their lines, but still legit...) or a potential big play threat in Fuller...he could have 100 yards and a TD easssyyyy...but he could also get limited targets and not take advantage whereas a RB will get likely 15 opportunities at least to break one.

If you wouldn't mind elaborating on why you choose a player and comment with your recommendation I'd appreciate it!!

  9. **UPDATED post-Josh Gordon news:

    My current lineup:

    QB - Patrick Mahomes

    RB 1 - James Conner

    RB 2 - Jay Ajayi

    WR 1 - Will Fuller V

    WR 2 - Corey Davis

    TE - Kyle Rudolph

    FLEX - ???

    DEF - Broncos

    Options:

    RB

    • Royce Freeman .vs. OAK
    • Kenyan Drake @ NYJ
    • Dion Lewis .vs. HOU

    * Royce Freeman lost me my game last week after what happened with Lindsey.

    * Kenyan Drake just lost his starting LG for the season and the Jets game last week might not have been a fluke.

    * Dion Lewis did great last week, but his starting Tackles are out this week, and who knows what is going on at QB?

Thanks!!! Please link me to your thread!

  10. Would leave me thin at QB but I could pick up Keenum to add depth--what do you think?

    6/all TDs

    .25/PPR

    1 pt/50 yds pass

    1 pt/10 yds rec

Start 1 QB and 2WR plus 1 Flex

    My QBs

    Cousins

    Dak

    Mahomes

    My WRs:

    OBJ

    Thielen

    Corey Davis

    B. Marshall

    Courtland Sutton

    Very nice.

I'm also using Cousins/Mahomes. Had I started Mahomes last week I'd have won my game...

So who are you starting this week? Cousins or Mahomes?

  11. Well because of Alshon Jeffery being injured and Fuller questionable against Pats...I'm basically stuck with Josh Gordon in my lineup.

But as for James Conner....I also have Kenyan Drake and Dion Lewis (.vs. each others DEF). I know Miami's DEF is weak .vs. RB's but I feel like the Steelers might heavily rely on Conner with this weather....

    Should I roll with James?

  12. Can you post your whole roster? I have never played in a 14 team league so it's interesting how the rosters shake out. In a 14 team league I would really want a true number 1 rb because one dominant player makes a huge difference in larger leagues.

Sure. Here is my lineup this week. 14 team. Standard. 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 FLEX, 1 TE, 1 DEF.

*Bold = I'm starting in my lineup this week.

Keep in mind this is an Auction draft. People overbid on RB's ($70-80 out of their $200 budget for the top-10 backs) So I sit back an let everyone overbid and then swooped up a bunch of RB2's that I can interchange based on matchups. We have 1 flex...so I figure I'll probably always start 3 RB's. Thats why I can justify being weak at WR...and if Gordon indeed plays to his potential I got a WR1 for half the price ($30 opposed to 60 for top10 WR's)

QB - Kirk Cousins, Patrick Mahomes

RB - Royce Freeman, James Conner, Kenyan Drake, Jay Ajayi, Dion Lewis, C.J. Anderson,

WR - Josh Gordon, Corey Davis, Will Fuller V, Alshon Jeffery

    TE - Kyle Rudolph

    DEF - Broncos

Kickoff is in 1 hour 1/2...does anyone suggest I start Drake or Lewis over Conner? If Fuller plays should I go with him over Gordon? The weather in the CLE/PIT game is going to be really bad.

  13. 14 team league / Standard

QB - pick 1 ESPN PROJECTION:

    Kirk Cousins .vs. SF 18

    Patrick Mahomes @ SD 16.7

    RB - pick 2

    Royce Freeman .vs. SEA 11

    Kenyan Drake .vs. TEN 9.5

    James Conner @ CLE 11.1

    Dion Lewis @ MIA 7.7

    WR - pick 2

    Josh Gordon .vs. PIT 7.8

    Will Fuller V @ NE 7.6

    Corey Davis @ MIA 7.7

    DEF - pick 1

    Broncos .vs. SEA 6.3

    Lions .vs. NYJ 7.4

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Right now this is my plan, but I'd love to hear why you think I should substitute another in their place?

    QB - Cousins

    RB - Freeman, Conner

    WR - Gordon, Fuller

    DEF - Broncos

***Leave me a link for your question and I'll give you my advice.

  14. Here is my situation. I have Josh Gordon, Corey Davis, Will Fuller V, and Alshon Jeffery as my WR's in a 14 team league. Jeffery is out and Fuller is definitely going to be 1 of my 2 WR's I start this week. So the choice is between Davis and Gordon. Do I go with Gordon?

I think I do...i believe based on Hue's latest statements and nothing but positive reports on his health and condition...the Browns are just trying to keep their Ace up their sleeve against the Steelers. I read that Gordon is expected to get more than the 8 looks he averaged last year. I think the hamstring thing was overblown. They're playing their hated nemesis the Steelers...why would they show their cards if they don't have to?

Are you going with Gordon? Am I making the right choice with going with Gordon/Fuller? Or should I substitute Corey Davis?

  15. 14 Team - Auction

    Standard

    1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX, 1 DEF - no kicker

    * = starting in my lineup currently.

QB - *Kirk Cousins, Patrick Mahomes

RB - *Royce Freeman, *Kenyan Drake, Jay Ajayi, Dion Lewis, C.J. Anderson

WR - Josh Gordon, *Corey Davis, *Will Fuller V, Alshon Jeffery

    TE - *Kyle Rudolph

    DEF - *Broncos

    Areas I should improve?

Who should I start in my FLEX? ----- Lewis .vs. MIA?... or ...Ajayi .vs. ATL? Gordon .vs. PIT?

Who should I go with at QB? ----- Cousins .vs. SF? ... or ... Mahomes .vs. SD?

  16.

I guess Gase is gonna give Drake some reps at safety, given that no team ran 70 offensive plays a game last year.

The Dolphins averaged 63. Last team to average 70+ were the Chip Kelly Eagles.

I think he meant 70-75%. Could be wrong though.

So I just finished my draft guys. 14 team league.

    My RBs:

    Royce Freeman

    Kenyan Drake

    Jay Ajayi

    Dion Lewis

    C.J. Anderson

They wen't crazy with overbidding on the #1 RBs...so I figured wth...I'll just grab the middle tier guys and hope one kills it. Hoping I get proven wrong and Drake does indeed become a RB1.

  17. I'm back again to give you guys insight into my beloved Dolphins.Take a look at my contributions to the Mike Gesicki thread if you're looking for a sleeper TE this year.

The number 1 issue with Drake? The Gase effect.

He simply doesn't like to use a bell-cow. Sure you'll remember when Jay Ajayi was getting 200 yard games... but Arian Foster retired and Gase was FORCED to dumb down his offense for Ajayi/Landry (notice neither is on our team anymore.)

He didn't want to do that.

So what can we expect this year when Gase finally runs HIS offense for the first time?

Take a look at the 2014 Denver Broncos:

    https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/den/2014.htm#all_rushing_and_receiving">https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/den/2014.htm#all_rushing_and_receiving

*Note - C.J. wasn't even the starter in a featured role until week 12 and he finished with those stats.

This is the thing. Every year the goal for Gase is to copy his Broncos of 2013 (when they broke all kinds of records.) Then at some point he switches to run-first-mode because its not going how he wants. When he does use of a bell-cow and go run first his RB's absolutely KILL IT...but the sad thing is...he never does this over a full season. So while Drake killed last year just like C.J. did in 2014, and just like Ajayi did in 2016....that isn't what Gase wants to do by default. So for us fantasy football fans...we never get the ELITE potential out of our players.

My concern is that were back to HURRY UP mode this year. Its been made a big deal in the off-season. That tells me he is back to trying to copy 2013 again. That's why we got rid of stupid players and now have highly intelligent players. I expect Ryan Tannehill to have a career year and for our offense to be immensely better...but will Drake be featured or not?

I expect not (as much as I'd like to see it happen) ...I expect Gore to take short yardage situations and very short goalline carries. I do expect Ballage to catch some passes later in the season but nothing significant.

So for Drake...expect 200 carries, 700-800 yards rushing, 400-500 yards receiving, and 6-10 total TDs. If you're comfortable with those numbers for a RB2 then by all means - take him there. Drake has a very, very high ceiling...but his floor brings his projection to what I anticipate above.

    Last word:

People talk about Gore and Ballage as legitimate threats to Drake. They also doubt his durability. All of that is rubbish. The bottomline is that it comes down to how Gase runs his offense. If you look at C.J.s #'s in 2014 and expand it over a 16 week season...you're talking the #1 RB in the NFL. Same thing with Ajayi in 2016. Same thing with Drake in 2017. The problem is that Gase doesn't want to give a RB 350 carries and all the catches - period.

Target Drake as your #2 only if you have a top5 #1. Otherwise target him as a RB3.

  18. Wow. Shocked that nobody is trying to take this gamble on Gordon.

Tyrod ------ Someone said Tyrod is a WR killer...but the Browns offense is arguably better than any he had in Buffalo. He has a deep arm, never throws INT's, and is pretty damn smart. Who is he gonna feed if the Browns are behind? (And they will be) - Gordon!

Gordon ------ Look at what Gordon did in 2013. In his 1st 2 years he put up 2500 yards...4th MOST ALL-TIME.

In his rookie year he put up 800 yards/6 TDs....that is his floor

That 1600 yards/9 TDs in 2013 was only 14 games. That is his ceiling.

Both of these Browns teams were MUCH WORSE than what they're becoming now. They definitely are turning their team around. Tyrod's arm and low INT rate are HUGE upgrades for Gordon.

HardKnocks ------ Yeah I can see that Haley was pissed with Hue, but since its a reality TV show...you can't put too much into this. You gotta remember you're seeing what they want you to see and they (like any "reality" show) are guilty of driving/dictating the narratives. I mean if you just look at that one scene it feels like there is a huge mutiny against Hue and Haley wants his job. But I don't think that is the reality. Even if it is...that would only be a good thing right?
