How much are your health insurance costs rising?
supermike80 replied to Ron_Artest's topic in The Geek Club
i genuinely hope those that are dead set on blaming someone, feel better by doing so. Seems that is critically important. Also, if those blame Trump, I really hope they won't vote for him! -
FINALLY!! You got him now!!!!

How will the SNAP or EBT November Crisis affect YOU?
supermike80 replied to avoiding injuries's topic in The Geek Club
Is this seriously your position? HA HA HA. Sometimes I get disgusted at our government...and wonder why some of these people get elected. But then I see posts like this, breaking things down to the silliest things, and realize maybe it's good we aren't a true democracy. Crikey -

He is not an advocate for the transgender community at all in my opinion. I don't think he is either pro or anti gays however. Just the transexual community. -
You know. i really liked the TV show the West Wing. Now, while this show generally veered left, many many times in the show they would float an idea to help the American People, but they would always get to the question of "how are we going to pay for it?" Which I found to be very sobering. The current liberals say 3 year old things like -- Dems wanna feed everyone, house everyone, give everyone healthcare and make everyone happy, always. but they skip the part of how will it be paid for. Outside of "Tax the billionaires!" Which of course is stupid because BOF SIDEZ are funded by billionaires so they both know they aint hitting them too hard. Like I said, simple minds.

Republicans introduce amendment so trump can get third term
supermike80 replied to TrailGuy's topic in The Geek Club
Here is my back of the napkin political analysis on this---and other Trump related things. For the past 9 years now, the democrat party has had a singular focus--GET TRUMP...It's all they think about, all they do, and all they put effort into. Meanwhile, their party is fractured and really lacking any message to the American people. They tried the Anti Trump message, only to see him get elected again. And why? While they spent all their time and energy into the anti Trump antics, they failed to get their party structured. Thus we got a feeble Biden, and then, Kamala....certainly on the list of the worst Presidential candidates in American history. So now, Trump and the republicans are continuing to do these things, because they know the dems will laser focus in on anything he does (east wing anyone) and fail to look within and figure out what they can do with their party to make it more appealing to the American voter. The republicans are causing the dems to take their eye off the ball, again. Right now the best they can offer for 2028 is either Kamala again( HA HA HA ) Or Gavin. Gag. -

I think it's funny people are saying Trump isn't a advocate for the transgender community. Is this shocking somehow? It was part of his campaign for crying out loud. -
POLLS ARE FUN!!! I wonder, if FOX news took a poll, what the % would be then HMMMMM
-
I know what's on the table squish. But you can't force it through this way. That's why it's on the dems.
-
Tim, In fairness I have decided, as with TDS Ron, to not reply to any of your posts. So this will be my last to express that to you. I can't handle the dishonesty, the lying and the pompousness you display everyday. But I was chastised for my attacks on you by someone on this board I respect, and he was right. So as they say, if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
-
I'm putting 85% on the dems. But not from the RWM. I can deduce what is happening on my own. Dems didn't have the votes to put things in the budget the republicans don't want, so they decided to not vote on a CR to shoehorn it in. And the republicans pushed back. So the 15% is the republicans pushing back, the rest is on the left.
-
Well that's clear cause they don't want it now. So why would they vote for it later? You kids and your political analysis sometimes. Its epic
-
You're right...neither has the votes. And as much as you don't trust the right, I don't trust the left.....andddddddd thats why we currently have a shutdown with no clear resolution in sight.
-
Exactly why....Because of the "as long as it includes" part. They don't have the votes to get this through the regular way, so they decided to try and strong arm it by refusing to vote yes on a CR that was passed before and doesn't have those additions. So yeah, this is 100% on the dems. Also, as far as swearing in. Nope. Dems wanted it shutdown, so no you don't get to add anyone else until that's done. I have no issue with that. They decided this is how they wanted to handle it so FAFO. I 100% agree that SNAP needs funding. But I would also not be willing to do it with a gun to my head, which is what the dems are doing.
-
There literally is no negotiation here so no need to call them back. Vote for the cr, the exact same one that was ok to vote for before Trump was elected, or the government stays shut down. If the dems say "yep. we will vote for it," then call the congress back. until then, it's a total waste of time
-
No. the dems can end this by voting for the same CR they have voted for in the past. Making the republicans change process or policy because the dems don't have the vote wont work.
-
Why stay when the dems have made it clear they won't vote for a CR? If they agree to it, congress can come back
