This is so funny! You can’t ruin something that was already garbage. I’m not sure what you’re looking at that tells you he was some fabulous quarterback. College, essentially his one year with North Dakota state he played against a bunch of crappy teams and still averaged 175 yards passing a game with 1.75 TDs passing. Sure, he ran for 70 yards & a td a game. But he’s a quarterback not a running back. there’s nothing that says he’s a great quarterback. During his one year of college, he played against a bunch of high school teams essentially. And when he played against the best of that division, he was less than average. he only had one 300 yard game in his career. And that was with Christian Watson as his wide receiver!

2023 Draft - Best Players to draft early. Who is a lock?
justforbeer posted a topic in FFToday Board
It is what drives me crazy every year....Last year J. Taylor killed me, years prior McCaffery. Seems like RB is the most notorious. Who should I draft in the first 2 rounds. You can't usually win a championship in the first 2 rounds, but you can certainly lose it! Lock players Mahomes, Josh Allen, Burrow, Justin Jefferson, Travis Kelce, N. Chubb, Tyreek & Diggs. -
Ezekiel Elliott Expected to Sign with New England

Bill Belichick kills many careers. Look at quarterbacks, besides Brady. Ask Drew Bledsoe. Every Cleveland Browns quarterback under his tenure, Bernie and others. This could be the year to bench Mac Jones, and put some Rando in. -
Bill Belichick is a Facade. Not a good coach!
justforbeer replied to justforbeer's topic in FFToday Board
Hmmm. Seems like you’re all making the argument for me. He’s a great defensive coach but he is a horrible offensive coach. Makes him at .500 guy unless he has Tom Brady as his quarterback. -

I just think he is way overrated. -

Pretty much makes any New England player not draftable except their defense. You will overpay for stevenson. -
In 2021, the 49ers sent three first-round picks, as well as a 2022 third-round pick in order to move up from No. 12 to No. 3 to select the T Lance. On the flip side of the deal, the Dolphins turned one of those selections into star wideout Jaylen Waddle, and further used the capital to land Tyreek Hill in a deal with Kansas City. No Micah Parsons. BUST

Take Brady out of the picture and he is a 500 coach. That’s the facts. -

He didn’t accomplish it. BRADY did. -

In actuality, he’s a good defensive coach, but a terrible head coach. -

Offered number one spot for my 12th pick in ppr league.

Actually, my favorite draft position is being the final pick in the first round. So no, I wouldn’t do it. -

Without giving away all your secrets how about in a standard 12 team PPR league. Name 2 to 3 players you think are the safest bet on having a solid if not great year. -

Hold on a second. Here was the top 10 rbs in scoring last year. How many were drafted in the first 2 rounds? 1. Josh Jacobs LV 17 340 1,653 12 64 53 400 0 277.3 16.3 2. Alvin Kamara NO 13 240 898 4 67 47 439 5 187.7 14.4 Then the year before, here is the top 10 scoring RB's. First RD, 9 RB's drafted. - 4 in top 10. 2nd RD, 5 RB's drafted. - 4 in top 10. So 8 out of 14 make the top 10 is okay. The total from the last 2 years is 12 out of 27 RB's drafted in the first 2 rounds are in the top 10 in scoring. 45% success rate is not a very good strategy. -
2023 Draft - Best Players to draft early. Who is a lock?
justforbeer replied to justforbeer's topic in FFToday Board
I understand the QB thinking. No way in the 1st round for sure. Kelce in the 1st round is an easy choice. Question on your stats. How many of those 7 Rbs that were a top 12 finish were picked in the 1st or 2nd round? Willing to bet most of them were drafted much later.... -
It is PAYTON. I see Belichick and he is a .500 coach without Brady. Sean Payton, Amazing coach as he won all of those Superbowls (1)! Oh and don't forget his 3 years of mediocrity as Offensive Cooridinator with the NYG. Dude is an average coach. His first 4 years as a QB coach were mediocre too. BREES was why he was successful. He would have been nothing without Brees.

2023 Draft - Best Players to draft early. Who is a lock?
justforbeer replied to justforbeer's topic in FFToday Board
I really think you are missing the question here..... I believe, last year 8 of the top 10 rb's from the previous year sucked. The argument is, is it worth more to get a top player that has less chance of collapsing and costing your team dearly or not. You spend your 1st pick on a rb last year and 80% chance they are a dud. -
Yes, Payton was not his coach. But without the right talent, none of this matters. See Belichick.
-
Yeah...look at his last 2 years when he was his oldest. Brees was 6ft, not a runner and was insanely accurate. Very different QB. More like Brady.

2023 Draft - Best Players to draft early. Who is a lock?
justforbeer replied to justforbeer's topic in FFToday Board
Yes, but I have seen a really solid team that gets Jefferson as the 2nd pick and then turns around with Allen/Mahomes in a 12 or 14 team. It looks pretty good. Also Kelce/Diggs looks strong too. Again, RB's almost always bust so the wr/wr or wr/kelce seems like the best bet. -
CAM AKERS R. WHITE Z. WHITE MATTISON

Bounce Back Players QB - TUA *So Many Weapons.... To a lesser - LAMAR JACKSON & STAFFORD. RB - CAM AKERS To a lesser extent KAMARA & J TAYLOR. WR - M. PITTMAN & D. HOPKINS TE - WALLER I know it is hard to say Tua is a comeback but from all of those concussions, if he plays a full season, it would be big numbers. For 2022 he played about 12 1/2 games. IF, and that is a big if, he played a full 17 last year would have looked something like this..... 4,825 yds passing +34 TDS Passing or possibly better.

Russ then you go into culture being so important? R Wilson is not as good because he is old, short and slow. FACTS. Years ago, he was young and fast. He can't make the same plays he used to. Now his height (5'10 +1/2") is becoming a bigger issue, he was elusive and would get out of the pocket and make plays (run or pass). He has lost a step and that is wreaking havoc on his past success and talent. No way is Payton going to make that better. He had a natural Passer in Brees, and was lucky to have him. If you think Payton is going to magically make Russ taller and younger, well, I have some magic beans to sell you.... Culture....Not that important. Acutally Winning creates culture. Take NE Patriots. It has become pretty evident that it was not Belichick that won those titles, it was BRADY. Brady won without him in Tampa too. But everyone is selling the NE way/Belichick way and that was the culture you are speaking of yes? HA HA! How was Bill before Brady (record 35-45) and how is he after (.500). TRASH. Lastly, A Sean Payton Culture? You mean the one where you would get paid to inflict injuries on players? That culture?
