The cutoff should be earlier for mail-in ballots. The way the ballots get handled through the usps system is kind of crazy. There are no official rules on handing them. You have carrier employees, medical , pensions etc , who for the most part are extremely trustworthy. Then there is the temp carriers , CCA city carrier asssstants who are low paid and really no benefits and I wouldn’t trust them to walk my dog. The washout rate is about 50% within 90 days, you get good ones boy do you get bad ones and language can be an issue. I had a supervisor working the last week of the election from 7 am to 9-10 pm. A total show. Everything is decided on the fly. and not all mail is postmarked
