The usps in the northeast never really recovered from covid. They offered 3/4 pay if people wanted to sit at home. So we had a few guys that were going to retire jump on this but we lost new people and overnight the workforce was depleted to 75% . Add in vacations and sick calls we had 60% coverage but the job still has to get done. After the stay home program ended no one came back. New hires washout 60+%. It was a never ending hamster wheel. Guys made $$ at the cost of family life. Sucky situation

JFC you’re some kind of touched. You have to be right about something you have no knowledge about. 79k to 100k is a cakewalk in OT , 30 hours a month. For years carriers were working 20-30 hours in OT a week. This is a by product of covid plus catering to Amazon. Focking dolt thanks for trying to educate me on how I’m wrong

Hey numbnuts the guy traded his personal life for staying on the clock 7 days a week working mostly 12 hours a day. Not something I would do. Guys not on the OT list cleared 100k on forced OT. It’s simple math. The 1.5x OT rate for step O was $56 and change an hour. I don’t know how Iowa or Tennessee etc ran but the Northeast was perpetually understaffed Look at this guy from 2022 , he’s only 29 so even if he started at 21 he’s only halfway to top pay

Uncle Sam is even paying me my social security before I’m 62 The Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) Special Retirement Supplement (SRS) is a benefit for eligible USPS and other federal employees who retire before age 62 . It provides income until the retiree becomes eligible for Social Security benefits.

Take a person at 79k rate when everyone is working 60 plus hours a week , the 6th consecutive day is double time add in night differential after 7 . Sunday staffing carriers for Amazon also turns regular 1.5 X into 2X. The top pay carrier worked every Sunday and Holiday that needed collections plus Amazon coverage , that’s 7 days a week for the year minus sick days and vacation. Stop talking out of your azz about something you have zero knowledge about. I give a lot of respect for city letter carriers, know nothing about the rurals

I don’t know where he lives but in the Boston district it was a shiteshow . If someone transferred or retired the spot was rarely filled and all the new temp caries were misfits and were either fired for stealing or lazy but the majority just quit within 90 days. Some nights the night supervisor and I were delivering while the night clerk answered the phone . Covid and Amazon really screwed the usps up. The job went from a set it and forget it to working 7-7 6 days a week on a salary for 040 hrs plus “bonuses “

    Yeah...I'm a bit worried

you idiot I was a manager of a carrier unit for city letter carriers the last 10 years there. Before that I was a night distribution manager at the plant for 12 years while I coached HS football. Focking nitwit.
  15. This wasn’t the first Catholic Church attacked by Israel. It’s not at the Islamists level but it’s getting there.

    Yeah...I'm a bit worried

1 year out of the business top pay was 79k . Top pay is reached after 15 years and probably 75-80% of the office was at that level. We weren’t 100% staffed , closer to 75%. New employees are a revolving door because they washout so fast. With OT and forced OT and having to staff Sunday support because of Amazon the OT adds up fast. Unlimited OT for carriers, zero for clerks. The carriers that want the OT are happy, thee ones being forced to work 60 hours a week are miserable. It’s crazy young people don’t want this job , a pension, TSP(401k) and great medical benefits working and into retirement

    Yeah...I'm a bit worried

I don’t get this flex. Strange as Fock .I managed 40+ letter carriers. Hard workers .Very few earned under 100k , I had 4-5 bring in 150 and one almost hit 200k
