Tebow showing his true colors today

Understandable. To me, religion is a belief - a belief that canNOT be proven or disproven....So why do people turn it into a "Who's Right and Who's Wrong"? I just don't understand why I'm not allowed to feel a certain way just because it disagrees with somebody else's viewpoints on God. So far, I haven't really noticed Tebow advertising/selling his religious commitment. Now, if he's in the locker room mandating his teammates to take part in a prayer, or making coaches wear cross-necklaces, then I'd wanna punch Tebow in the face. But let him do what he wants with religion, so long as he keeps ballin'!

Tebow showing his true colors today

Jeez I'm being mis-interpreted. My point is that Tebow HASN'T asked anyone to convert. I have no problem with his religious antics. I don't. I respect his, and everyone else's, commitment to his religion. I was just bringing up a related topic about religion in general. I have friends, and have met people, that will tell me I am flat-out wrong for having my religious beliefs just because they don't align with other people's opinions. That's when I have a problem with religion. So once again - I have zero problem with Tim Tebow and his religious antics - need I say it a 3rd or 4th time now?

Tebow showing his true colors today

Maybe I didn't express my point well enough. I have no problem with Tebow. I'm enjoying it actually. And I don't care one bit about his religious antics. My point was this: I don't think people should have any problems with religion itself - we should all be accepting of other people's opinions and views. But when people tell me that what I believe in is wrong, simply because they disagree, then I have a problem. From my experience, Tebow doesn't do that = I don't have a problem with what Tebow does.

Tebow showing his true colors today

The were playing against Caleb Hanie - I'd say 10 points was average. Hope you aren't serious...I'm an atheist (agnostic atheist), and I have absolutely no problem with Tebow's religion, or anyone's religious beliefs (barring rare exceptions). I just can't stand when people force their religion on other people, attempting to teach, convert, or look down on others because of their religion. I could care less how expressive Tim (or anybody else) is with his respective religion. Just don't go on camera and tell the world that they should convert.

    Are the Colts purposely tanking?

Addai has only played the past 2 games... He has 20 carries for 62 yards (3.1 avg) Brown has 28 carries for 121 yards (4.3 avg) They quickly abandoned Addai in the Panthers game in favor of Brown - Addai went 7 for 23, Brown went 14 for 80. Neither had success against New England - Addai was 13 for 39, Brown was 14 for 41. The Colts have given up on the season, but using Addai as your reasoning is pretty bad logic...

    Beanie Wells

Anyone have any inside info on his health? Wells has been banged up all season (no surprise), but there was talk before his 200-yard performance that he was as healthy as he's been all season. But then he got injured twice in that game, and has been limited in practice. Remember, he put up nothing in the first matchup with the Rams when he was severely hobbled, then torched them in the 2nd matchup (mostly healthy). Obviously, the 49ers defense is a different animal - but a healthy Beanie Wells would at least be startable against them. Deciding between Maurice Morris (if Smith is out) and Wells.

    Big Ben Tonight

Note that Palmer's top 2 WR's (Ford and Moore) are looking like they won't play on Sunday. Palmer really struggled last week with both of them out of the lineup, salvaging his day with a big 4th quarter against a prevent defense. Originally wanted to start Palmer over Eli, but can't pull the trigger knowing the Raiders' top-2 WR's won't play.

For those of us OUT of the playoffs...

Well, according to fantasyfootballcalculator.com - Gronkowski was the 10th TE taken on average. He was the 13th TE taken in my main league. Another point to consider: Gronkowski relies heavily on scoring TD's. Obviously, he's in a high-powered offense, so he has a ton of scoring chances...But TD's tend to fluctuate from year-to-year, especially for TE's. Didn't V. Davis have 12 or 13 a few seasons ago? Didn't Jason Witten have a season in which he only caught 1 TD pass? I'm not suggesting that Gronkowski will fail to top 5-6 TD's next season, but anybody who is expecting another 14+ TD's hasn't been around the NFL (or fantasy football) for very long. If it matters, Gronkowski will probably be my 3rd keeper, so I have no reason to bash him.

For those of us OUT of the playoffs...

You're completely missing my point. In most leagues, there's a 99.9% chance that one of those 2 TE's will be available at the start of the 2nd round (11-15 pick). Why waste your 1st rounder on Graham or Gronk when you could use your 2nd rounder on them. Also, I do agree that they are the 2 best TE's, probably by quite a margin. But their success is a prime example of why your strategy is flawed. Gronkowski wasn't even drafted as a starter in many leagues, and J. Graham was rarely a top5 TE selection. The "can't-miss" TE's coming into this season were Gates (injured/up & down season) and Finley (disappointing). If you're talking guaranteed points at the 1st/2nd round turn, why wouldn't you draft a QB? In most leagues, Rodgers will be gone, but I'm sure Brees and Brady would be available...

For those of us OUT of the playoffs...

The point is value. If I guaranteed you (and only you) that the 6th string WR for Dallas would be next season's fantasy MVP, would you draft him in the 1st round? Of course not, since you could take him in the last round. I highly, highly doubt, that either TE (Gronk or Graham) will go in the first 15-20 picks in MOST drafts next year. If you're sitting around 8-10, grab an elite WR (Megatron, Welker, Jennings, Fitz?) or great RB (Chris Johnson, MJD, Forte) in the 1st round, and still get your TE on the way back.

Worst era of qbing in recent NFL?

I'm just saying, your assertion that my "Vick was an MVP contender" comment was laughable - well that itself was pretty laughable. I don't like Vick, in fact, I dislike him. But you can't deny that he was a top3 MVP contender for almost all of last season. If you can't concede that, you're likely just a blind hater.

    Predict the fantasy playoff MVPs

Whhops You mean Blount doesn't have WR status in your league??
  14. kmbryant09

Worst era of qbing in recent NFL?

He was neck and neck with Tom Brady until the final few weeks of the season. There was probably a point in the middle of the season when he was the runaway favorite.
  15. kmbryant09

Worst era of qbing in recent NFL?

Well Michael Vick was an MVP contender last season, so give him some props. And agreed about Cassell and Kolb; but my point was to compare them with Jon Skelton & Tyler Palko. Palko and Skelton don't even belong in the NFL, at least Cassell and Kolb can hold their own as a starting QB. This year, the QB position seems to be 2-fold: You have some all-time great seasons being had by Brees, Rodgers, and Brady. But you have about 10 QB's (as the original poster listed) who are downright laughable. My point was that 70% of those QB's were because of injury.
  16. kmbryant09

    Predict the fantasy playoff MVPs

Not so sure about all of the Blount love. Yes, Carolina is a tasty matchup. But the Jaguars and Cowboys have very good defenses. And it's not like Blount is matchup-proof. I wouldn't feel comfortable starting Blount as a WR 2 against either of them.
  17. kmbryant09

Worst era of qbing in recent NFL?

As someone else mentioned, imagine the elite QB crop with a healthy Peyton Manning, Michael Vick, Matt Scaub, Jay Cutler, Matt Cassel (?). Also, a lot of young guys are struggling because of a shortened off-season. I'd lump some of the new guys in there as well - like K. Kolb in Arizona.

So Andrew Luck is a Colt

You clearly don't know anything about the Colts. The Colts defense is woeful - but it's the exact same defense they fielded last year, and they're even healthier this year. Yes, they lost Hayden and Brackett, but Angerer is playing so much better than Brackett ever has. They struggle running the ball? The 2011 Colts have the highest ypc average (4.5) since 2003. Their running game for the past 3 years with Peyton has been beyond pathetic, at least it's serviceable this year. And the O-Line is not what it used to be? As long as your comparing it to the pre-2008 O-Line. They spent their first 2 picks on Tackles, and while one is out for the season, Anthony Castonzo has been a huge upgrade at LT. The entire O-Line has played better this year than they have since before their SB loss. Peyton Manning would have easily won 7 games so far this season.
  19. kmbryant09

    P Manning possibly to retire?

Isn't it funny how 4,500 yards, 33 TD's, 450 completions (NFL record) - and leading a team to another division title (which is followed by a potential 0-16 season without him) is considered a down year? I can't imagine any other QB in the history of the NFL that has had such a productive "down year".

    Caleb Hanie

In 9 starts, Painter's thrown 6 touchdowns and 9 INT's (he's probably had 5-8 easy INT's dropped out of sheer luck). He's completed just 54% of his passes. Has a plethora of weapons (Garcon, Wayne, Clark, Collie). He has an improved/solid run game that Peyton hasn't had in 8 years. He's also had the benefit of learning under Peyton for 3 years, has played in 3 full pre-seasons (extended playing time in 2 of them), and had plenty of time to prep for 2011 as the starter. As far as I'm concerned, Hanie is miles ahead of Painter at this point.

    Touchdown Timmah

Sho Nuff - I understand the Broncos haven't exactly knocked off the undefeated Packers or anything, but look at what Tebow's done in his 8 starts in the NFL: -5 wins, 3 losses. -3 4th quarter comebacks, including a 15 point comeback in less than 8 minutes and a 13 point deficit in 12 minutes. (Also, in one of the losses, Tebow led another comeback that fell just short). -In those 3 losses, his defense has given up 31, 39, and 33 points. -Tebow has accounted for 15 TD's, and just 5 Turnovers in 8 games. That'd be a full season of 30 TD's and 10 Turnovers. If any other QB in the history of the NFL had those kind of numbers in his first 8 starts (with a terrible team, mind you), the media would/should be all over his nuts (as you say). That's why I don't understand the constant hatred/criticism that people have been dishing out.
  24. kmbryant09

    Touchdown Timmah

Well, I'm not sure if you were serious or not, but you even referred to yourself as a labeled, "hater". You've also stated multiple times in this thread that Tim Tebow sucks, and that they can't win with him playing 'poorly'. So while I agree with your long-term assessment that this offense isn't sustainable (UNLESS Tebow continues to improve/evolve), I find it hard to believe that people are still trying to deny Tebow credit for what he's done the past month, and really his overall NFL resume.
  25. kmbryant09

    Touchdown Timmah

Whatever. I do agree that this offense isn't sustainable long-term without some changes - and it starts with Tebow. He doesn't need to become an elite passer, complete 65% of his passes, or throw for 4,000 yards in a season. But he needs to shorten his delivery, and become more accurate. If they can build a tremendous defense around what should be a great running game (so long as Tebow is your QB), then the passing game will be easier and easier for Tim. Remember, he won't be required to thread the needle with some laser-rocket throws like Manning or Rodgers need to do 30 times a game. He just needs to pick his spots against defenses that are stacking the box. Sidenote: I really think that Tebow's performance/the Broncos' emergence should be one of the biggest stories around the league. Anytime a QB takes over for a terrible team and leads them to a few wins, they garner national attention - and nearly 100% of that attention is positive. Tebow and the Broncos are playing their part, but the media is still 50/50 (if that) in support of Tebow. Why?
