    If the allegations are false, hes acting completely reasonable. The Dems purposely sat on this for political reasons. The only reason for an FBI investigation at this point is to delay until after midterms. If Dems truly wanted an FBI investigation, they wouldnt have sat on this for months.

     

    As far as the yearbook and drinking, its a joke. Theyre trying to shame him for something everyone ive ever known has done.

     

    I don't find his reactions to questions by the senators to be reasonable. The avoiding answering questions about Judge and and FBI investigation.

    If Im 100% innocent...I welcome the one thing that can really clear me (a confirmation does not do that)...an actual investigation does. And please don't tell me he has been 6 times...anyone claiming those background checks are the same thing is a focking idiot.

    Anita Hill investigation took 3 days...3. How could that not have been done already? You know why it was done? Because Bush called for it.

     

    Sitting on it for months was a huge mistake by them. IMO...they could have actually kept him off the bench by doing so. It won't happen now.

     

    The yearbook thing and drinking is not a joke. It is showing the credibility of the man. Do you really believe his yearbook excuse? That they were a tribute to that person as a friend? Have you read what was written about her? The drinking is the same...simple things he was seemingly not honest about at all. It wasn't about shaming him for drinking...it was about showing he was not being honest.

    Boy, you guys are silly. Don't you see? An L is the biggest W for the D.

     

    By placing Kav, the Ds can spend the next 6 weeks and then the next two years and 6 weeks running around talking about how important it is to vote for the D so that no more evil drunken rapist men take power!

     

    meanwhile, they can all assert that they did their level best, but it's up to you the voter to give us the numbers we need! Otherwise, we can't be held accountable.

     

    And worst case scenario? Damned if Kavanaugh is life isn't ruined and he doesn't get the job. Mission accomplished.

     

    Either win by losing or win by winning. Either way it's a win-win.

    Its a short term thing for any dems. How long are congressional terms?

    Now how long are SC Justice appointments? And other judges Trump has been packing the courts with (after the GOP monumentally obstructed Obama's appointments to the bench).

    That all has been huge wins for the GOP long term.

    I dont condone either side doing it. I hope the woman gets prison time and gets sued for slander.

     

    You hope that because your partisan head said she is lying.

    Try thinking straight for a minute...she won't get sued...because they would have to prove she is lying...which would mean actual investigation...Judge being subpoenaed to testify (and one of the worst things of this show today...is one of the main witnesses not being compelled to testify...there is a reason Kavanaugh didn't want that).

    Just now listening to his testimony.

    You all will roll your eyes...but I believe he lied several times. Sorry.

    The talk of drinking...going after senators with the "have you?" stuff (which he later apologized for). He came off as angry and unhinged.

    His dancing around if he welcomed an FBI investigation and if he would welcome testimony by Judge was not all that honest.

    His original statement that was posted ahead of time was well done...he went away from that and came out different. Including what is not very believable about the yearbook stuff or his drinking. In addition the stuff about drinking only on weekends is in direct contradiction with Judge's book...and seemingly odd for a guy who talked about liking beer so much.

    He had moments of a sympathetic figure as well..but don't think he did well under questioning...and if this is someone's first view of him, he did not come off as someone fit for a Supreme Court Justice. Demeanor, temper, and basically admitted partisanship.

    Im going to guess before I read the rest of this thread...that every Trump loving conservative on this board loved it. And that Trump loved the defiance as well.

     

    This man should not be a Supreme Court Justice with that demeanor...his legal work certainly qualifies him...I don't believe the way he handled today does.

     

    I think there are much better alternatives as Conservative judges go. I think there is a reason conservatives warned Trump not to go with him.

    I feel bad for his family going through this whether he did it or not. I don't think he came off as believable or credible as Ford did.

    I get a sense that the Dem's reaction to his calendars is essentially, " gawdammmit...who the focks keep evidence like this, how the hell are we supposed to beat him down when he has that focking sh!t...."

    The Calendars thus far have been pretty weak...he has calendars from 17...and they show that he partied...none of which disproves anything that has been said about him.;

If you want me to take a screen shot of people, even women, that are saying they dont believe her I will. But you need to produce your own *facts* of Republicans changing their minds and not believing him.     As I said before Kavanaugh (and I have been away and not yet able to listen to his part) Id bet the majority opinion was that she was credible. Ive seen people (and Im not searching from hours ago from other places right now) that have been Trump guys and still are that said she sounded credible. That is my assertion. I didn't say a word about "believing" him.

     

    Nothing has proven the woman lied...that again is a false assertion by me.

    And if I look worse to this board...that makes me feel much better about myself...because much of this board has become a sorry excuse for men...and people as a whole. Utterly pathetic.

    My take.

     

    1) Kavanaugh did it.

    2) He was a kid, and kids do stupid crap.

    3) The democrats don't care if he did it, or about Ford. as it's obviously all politically motivated.

    4) He should be confirmed regardless.

    5) He looks like a creepy paedo.

     

    ETA: Didn't watch any of the hearing and have barely paid attention to the story.

    If you believe he did it...he has lied about it, put that woman through hell these past few weeks and allowed this show we have seen.

    The lying alone should disqualify him.

    Mostly just getting everything on the record.

     

    The few challenging questions were met with "don't recall" or blocking from the lawyers.

     

     

    Ford did a great job of coming across as a clueless idiot, which is odd considering she is a professor.

     

    I don't see how anything so far would cause a Republican to change their opinion.

     

    That you think she came across as a clueless idiot is very telling...and likely goes against 90% of the opinion about her testimony today including Republicans.

    Personally I think he enjoys it... If he didn't, he would act like most and just ignore it... After a while, the others would drop it...

     

    He has to come here because FBG is MSNBC and here it isn't and I think he likes confrontation...

     

    I come here as I have come here for a very long time...despite the crap from a handful...there are still some decent people here.

    They get quieter and quieter by the day and some that were once reasonable people have gone off the deep end completely.

    Its sad what the place has become...and I do question why I return.

     

    To say I enjoy being accused of raping in my past...being called a piece of ...and a horrible American....no. I laugh off most of it though...the rape one had me cuss Rock out and deservedly so.

    The Dems are doing nothing but blah blah blah brave blah blah blah hero blah blah blah emotion.

     

    The Dems have yet to ask a single question about her inconsistencies, her named witnesses all denying her claims including her best friend, or the lack of naming Kavanaugh to her therapist or her husband or anyone in the world until Kavanaugh was named as the nominee.

    The lack of naming her to a therapist (though...she did name him before he was the nominee to several...including her letter to Feinstein being before he was the nominee).

    In addition...to claim she detailed all of this to her therapist...at a timing and location consistent with the rest of her story...and did so to later claim it was Kavanaugh if he were ever nominated...completely illogical. Par for the course with you.

    Fox saying dems are, "landing haymakers" and repubs are upset at the woman they brought in to ask questions for then.

     

    If opinion goes as Ive thought where this did not look good for Republicans or Kavanaugh...they will attack Mitchell completely.

    Sad as she has done a very competent job in this messed up 5 minute format. Has done so very professionally...all because the GOP smartly didn't try to question her themselves as they would have likely come off way worse. And they didn't want to be seen that way.

    The flying thing? you mean that someone would have a fear of flying and hate to do it...but still do it sometimes anyway? Thats pretty focking normal.

    If you can't see the difference between...yeah, Ill fly to Hawaii...to, yeah, I don't really want to fly to DC to be grilled by people without some sort of assurances (and she did it anyway for today)...then its hard to ever reach you. Which I already know.

    You were going to call her a liar no matter what today. You wouldn't care even if you believed her you would still support Kavanaugh.
