Chewy75 0 Posted July 24, 2003 I don't know if I'm being a little too picky here, but I was wondering if there was any way to change the hi-lite color used for each position under the ADP? It's not that big of an issue, but in my opinion there are two colors that are very similar, making it difficult sometimes to tell the two positions apart. Mike MacGregor 21 Posted July 24, 2003 You give them an inch... All right Ralph, time to expand that Excel knowledge of yours. Let's start with the overall tab. You see there are 2 charts that look the same, one on the left where players drop off and one on the right which is the complete overall rankings. We'll call these chart A (left) and B (right). 1. Highlight the section of chart A for all players ranked 1 to 70. We need to do this in sections so as not to screw up the formulas. 2. Choose Format > Conditional Formatting. You should see a box come up with the current 3 colors. 3. Hit the "Format" button for the color you want to change. Then select the Patterns tab. Click on the new color you want to use. 4. Click OK to go back to the box with 3 colors. Click OK to save changes to conditional formatting. 5. Repeat steps for each section: - chart A players 71-140 - chart B players 1-70 - chart B players 71-140 Then apply the same concept to the ADP tab. Do them in similar sections as well (within the solid black lines).
Bodah 0 Posted July 24, 2003 Is there anyway that you can add another color, or is 3 the limit of conditional formatting?
Mike MacGregor 21 Posted July 24, 2003 3 is the limit of Excel's conditional formatting feature
chtrich 0 Posted July 25, 2003 Mike, I can't get the color change to work on the ADP tab. When I choose conditional formatting it brings me up a box to set a condition not change the exisitng one. Your explanation worked fine on the overal tab though. Any ideas? Chris
chtrich 0 Posted July 25, 2003 Mike, It seems to work in some groups and not in others on the ADP tab. 1 line at a time seems to work also, but ha ha ha to change it that way!
Mike MacGregor 21 Posted July 25, 2003 Funny. I see what you mean. Not sure why it doesn't work in those sections on the left chart of the ADP tab. It should work in sections as long as the conditional format functions are consistent. As far as I know, they are. Here is a tip though: change the first line conditional formatting in the first section (10 team ADP, player 1 Tomlinson). Then, with this highlighted, hit the little paint brush icon on your toolbar. This is the copy formatting option. Now, that will outline the Tomlinson line. Then highlight the entire ADP 10 team section all the way down in that section. It will copy all the formatting, including the conditional stuff. Only problem is, now you have those solid black lines between every row. Just highlight the whole box, remove all borders, and replace with a solid outline border. Repeat for the other section. Mike MacGregor 21 Posted July 25, 2003 BTW, what colors would we prefer just so I know for next time if a change is warranted. Krueger, when are we getting polls on this message board?
chtrich 0 Posted July 25, 2003 I changed #2 and #3 to a blue and purple, but that was just a personal prefernce. I was fine with the colors you had, but since you told us how to change them I thought why not.
