Reluctant Prophets and BeerBoy make a trade

Recommended Posts

RP sends Travis Henry, Jarret Payton, Daniel Graham and this weeks waiver request to BB for this weeks waiver request, Randy McMichael and the NY Jets defense.

BB will drop Antowain Smith to make room for the trade.

Hopefully Fast Willie lives up to the hype. After off-season trades for Staley and the Bus, I figured I had to insure myself a starting back for the first couple of weeks and just in case Parker takes the job and runs with it.

Also I feel Graham will be replaced by Watson this year and since “the Souljah” will once again be watching the season I have no starting TE.

While my team will likely be poor, I’d like to at least make it competitive and not lie down for my opponents.

Ouch. Travis Henry is way more talented and in a better (long term) situation. I really hope this works out for you Doc but that is alot to give up for a (admitedly good) TE and an unproven back.

Beerboy now has the Titans RB situation sewn up without really giving up much.

That was the tough part for me, long term Henry is probably more valuable, although we'll need to see about Parker.

If he is as good as he has looked (he did run for 150 and a TD against a tough Buffalo D when they needed to win to get into the playoffs in week 17 and he has looked great this pre-season), maybe long term becomes a wash.

Henry at best will split carries this year, so I needed to at least secure the sure starter in Pitts, in order to field a team that had a chance to win. I know my team looks weak on paper and I may be better off thiking long term, but I want to field a team that has a chance to win each week in order to keep the league balanced.

While defenses aren't very important to me, I also think the NY defense has a chance to be scary good this year.

I know it doesn't look like Beerboy gives up much, since Parker wasn't even on his roster yet, but you have to look at it as if he was.
