Hmmm..Diesel got me thinkin'...Portis on tha block

Recommended Posts

Galloway and the injured all-stars don't hold all that much interest for me. If I'm gonna downgrade at RB, I want an upgrade at WR. Galloway is on the same level as the recieving core I'm looking to upgrade. So, I got a counter for ya...

Portis and Morton for Taylor and CJ

Seeing as how the commish has a myriad of factors to consider for the trade we have in the works, and there is no gaurantee that this deal is gonna go through...Portis is still on the block. Once again, looking for a solid back and a good WR. The deal, in principle, with Zap is Portis and Morton for Freddie T and CJ. I'm a big fan of this deal and I hope it goes through...but like Clark Kent or any other good boyscout, I like to always be prepared.

Hope you don't see this as going behind yer back, Zap....I just gotta keep my options open in case our deal doesn't go through. Any offer would have to be dynamite to compete with the one we're workin' on...it seems fair all around to me.

Dynamite you say??? How about Culpepper, Hines, and Duece for Rudi? Ill even throw in Mr. Mcgahee eek! Now thats what you call a deal...thats never going to happen  . I just felt like bustin your balls. Thats the trade offers i get in some of my non-competitive leagues.

Morton is not who I have in mind. My counter will include sending FT and CJ your way... but already owning Gonzo, seeing Dante's role ever increasing, and the split chances with Kennison... Morton has no business in this deal. You need to understand Portis owners are benching him for the likes of D! Davis this week, and the gulf between CJ and Morton is humongous. The gulf between Portis and Freddy? Some would consider them rather even right now. I don't. I want Portis. I think he's the superior back, but CJ has joined the elite if you check the stats.

All's fair until the deal is signed. I'm shopping Freddy a little myself and would be foolish not to.

It's a bit uneven, but there is a method to my madness. You'll still like my counter, but it won't be so dynamitishly explosive in your favor.

Those who've known me 'round these parts

from years past can attest that I am a huge

Fred Taylor homer. And needless to say,

I defended Fuhner Mike's ultra high ranking of

CJ, when he was taking heat.

I'm not a huge fan of this deal, but I see it as a necessary evil, a harsh means to a happy end.

Hope yer not thinkin' Mason or Chambers...the main reason I'm interested in this deal is to have CJ in the mix with those two. Mainly because....

I agree with you 150% on this point...Portis' numbers have been hurt the past couple weeks beacause (I can't believe I'm going to say this) Plummer has been out. When Plummer comes back, opposing D's won't be able to key on Portis as much. People thinkin' about championships consider the long haul. Portis is the superior back in this deal, by far as I think we can both agree.

I'm not exactly sure where you're going with the new proposal...I await it with peaked curiosity... eek!

I have two trades proposed that I prefer to my offer to you. I have a correspondence regarding a third possibility that has stalled. I have received no yays or nays as of yet.

My offer to you if the others fall through will be:

Portis

Kitna

Warrick

Taylor

Carter

Johnson

I'm still not a huge fan of this deal and consider it plan B. If you don't like this deal then we're probably standing pat, unless you're willing to deal a better receiver and keep Kitna. And I do not care for Chambers. Which hamstrings you a bit because Mason would swing this my way more than your chicken butt would risk, right?

Plan A for those of you playing along from home is:

FTaylor for your STUD receiver. I'm listening if you want a reliable back with stronger potential than many of this league's starters. He's expensive though.

I wanted this done by Saturday, but will still be shopping Freddy next week if nothing happens today or tomorrow. I have to fly to Vegas and back tomorrow (bidness trip, no fun allowed). I may drive because it's only a 3.5 hour drive from here and airports are just ridiculous lately. I will be online when I arrive, for a little while, and certainly tomorrow night from home if something happens last minute. If you're awake before the early game Sunday morning, I will be also, and perhaps we can knock this out then.

Thank you for your patience. wink

Two down one to go. Looks like plan B is in the running. Let me know if you'll do it and it will probably happen before this weekend's games. I'll push it through and edit Crankshaft's lineup per your instructions you should advise accordingly.

Damn....I'm finally comfortable with the QB I'm starting this week, and you want him.....yer drivin' a hard bargain here. But I'm in, as long as you can waive the wait period for me on a deal I just accepted from tenacious D. I'm gonna need the QB from that deal to start this week. I'll send you my starting line-up along with the trade you proposed here on the site.
