The Phins hadn't been able to pass their way out of a paper bag all night, Brown was the only thing they had going for them on O. Giving him only 8 carries was criminal! Skeets 0 Posted October 22, 2005 I was thinking same thing.2 and 1 and call pass? At your side of field. Welcome to NFL. 2nd-and-12 is a great time to call a pass because the defense is thinking run. If you don't complete the pass, you still have 3rd-and-1 in which you can hopefully pick up the first down. Don't know if it was or not, but would have been the perfect time for a play-action.
