rebooters 1 Posted October 26, 2005 the past two games bettis has had no impact, its been all willie. the bus must be well rested. im thinking that he gets most of the work and shows he is still the man in front of the nation on MNF. FWP= 50 yrds/0td...BUS=85yrds/2td. anyone think otherwise?

First and Long 0 Posted October 26, 2005 Showcase? Are you insinuating that you think he'll be traded?

ACL tear 0 Posted October 26, 2005 I disagree. At this stage in his career the Bus is best used in short yardage situations and mop up duty. He doesnt want to be the featured back either. FWP will still get most of the carries with the Bus playing vulture.

The bus isn't capable of staying healthy if he's getting the majority of the carries and he's an important piece for this team down the stretch. So FWP continues to get the majority with Bettis being the vulture and if FWP gets hurt they can turn to Staley. It's a win win situation for Pittsburgh really. rebooters 1 Posted October 26, 2005 how about week 5 against SDC, willie only 26yrds on 10 carries, bus 54 yrds and a td. maybe this could be a trend. bettis rests a few games and then comes in big. i dunno if willie can run on baltimore like they can against softer defenses. the bus might be a necessity in this game. TIKI-BARBERS-BARBER 0 Posted October 26, 2005 They all ready showcased the Bus on monday night football a few weeks back to prove even though he is old and fater then ever that he still has it. If anybody gets showcased this week it will be Fwp. T Jones ran pretty while last week against them and Willie might be decent add to the fact that Lewis and Reed are out. Anyhow expect Madden to slob Bettis knob know matter how many carries he gets.
Guest brownhelmets Posted October 26, 2005 The Bus is no more then a late 4th quarter back and short yardage back. Expect FWP to get 15-20 carries and Bettis to get 10-12. Big Ben will get all the TDs because he is on my fantasy team. Seriously, Bettis will get the only rushing TD.
dj2005 0 Posted October 26, 2005 They will use both but Willie will get most of the carries all year. Bus will be used a little more in games where the opponenent has a harder time with a power rusher. The Ravens are without Reed and Lewis. Parker will break a long TD run in this one. Mark it down. Rye & Leaf 0 Posted October 26, 2005 The Bus looked really good against Chargers on Monday night. If you watched him against the Bungles last week, you might have noticed that he didn't look as good as he did on Monday night. As opposed to that Monday night game, his foot work was quite sluggish. Most of his yards were gained because he ran for two yards and fell forward for another two. At this point in his career, he is a worn down running back that plays with alot of heart. That is basically why he is still a good goalline back. He is driven and doesn't want to be denied. With all that said, don't expect FWP to lose his starting job in pitt. He is their RB of the future.

Blue Martini 0 Posted October 26, 2005 If you watch the games he has been back, he really is NOT a goalline back - he had the one TD against SD on MNF, but since then he has had 1 carry inside the 10 yard line. he is now a goalline DECOY as they throw for easy short TD's while FJB hangs around in the backfield - a very good strategy I must say, but he is not getting goalline totes.
