The 49ers practiced Thursday minus three of their top four wide receivers.

Brandon Lloyd, bothered by hip and back soreness, was held out so he could get an MRI exam, Coach Mike Nolan said.

Lloyd remains probable for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. However, it appears Arnaz Battle (knee) and Otis Amey (ankle) will miss the game because of injuries. Battle and Amey are listed as questionable but missed their second consecutive day of practice.

Johnnie Morton, rookie Rasheed Marshall and Jason McAddley were the only healthy receivers left on the roster. Nolan said the 49ers would consider adding a receiver but probably will stand pat if Lloyd is able to play.

Nolan also said that tackle Jonas Jennings was downgraded to doubtful. Jennings hasn't played since tearing the labrum in his right shoulder Sept. 25 against Dallas. He hopes to return using a protective shoulder harness, but if that doesn't work, he'll probably have season-ending surgery.

• Despite mounting injuries and the 49ers' five-game losing streak, Nolan reiterated that he's sticking to his goal of winning the NFC West.

``It is realistic,'' Nolan said. ``It's the thing to do and along with it, it is realistic. Is it lofty? I've said from the beginning, it is a lofty goal. Did I say it's attainable? Yes, lofty but attainable. Why would I get off that now? It might be even a little bit loftier than it was, but it's still attainable.''

• In Saturday's Breeders' Cup Mile at Belmont Park, 49ers assistant head coach Mike Singletary will have a rooting interest in his namesake horse.

Singletary, a 5-year-old thoroughbred, is entered in the Breeders' Cup Mile. The horse is trained by Don Chatlos and owned by Billy Koch, a longtime Bears fan.

``You have a horse who's named after you out there racing and doing pretty decent, so I just try to keep up with it,'' Singletary said. ``They usually contact me before races, and if I can watch it, I watch it.''

Singletary said the horse's owner asked him several years ago if he could name the colt after him.

``I told him, `OK, go ahead,' '' Singletary said. ``It's not very flattering to begin with, but it's pretty cool now. It's one of those things that kind of opened up my horizons to something different, horse racing.''
