zoso483 0 Posted October 28, 2005 Am I stupid? I am without Bulger, my backup is Vick (bye, and sucks anyway), so looking to waivers I decided my best options were Dilfer against the texans or Simms against the niners. I think Simms has the potential for the bigger game. Thoughts?
OGAR 0 Posted October 28, 2005 I am starting Simms against the lowly 49ers. I have Manning on bye and have no other qb. One of the guys in our league and is a rookie. He's got some backassward strategy going with 5 qbs and we only start one. He's wants one of my solid 4 rbs or 4 solid wrs for a qb. I'm totally ignoring him by picking up Simms for 1 week. After this week he's back on the waiver wire. Thing is SF can't stop anyone. TB's D will give the ball to Caddy in great shape time after time. Caddy will have a monster day, imo. Simms will get credit for a couple big plays on the screen plays. Galloway will beat SF deep on the play action. Michael Clayton is due. Gruden has had a week with Simms. I had the same options you did. I don't doubt my decision on bit. Nor should you. Picking him up if for nothing other than this weekend.
hezagenius 0 Posted October 28, 2005 Me, too. Manning's bye week so I am starting Simms. Originally planned on starting Griese because I looked at Manning's bye week during the draft and saw that TB was playing SF. Hopefully Simms does OK. Not expecting 300 yds and 3 TDs, just 200 yds and a TD. Hopefully no INTs or fumbles.
Guest Loose Circuits Posted October 28, 2005 I'm starting Simms, and it isn't because lack of options. It's a salary cap league where teams can only hold on to one QB. I had McCown last week and will go with Simms this week although I am considering picking up McNair instaed. But I think Simms could have a big day, he's not going to get pulled if they go up because he needs the experience and Rattay probably isn't ready yet... The Bucs are going to constantly have good field position, so the opportunity for 3/4 TD's will be there....
