Diesel07 0 Posted March 26, 2006 About focken time Damn, whats new guys? Its been a long time. Are most of the same people around? Im down for another year at the Goider. Good to be back guys...maybe some of us can stick around through the college football season or maybe Zap can generate some more traffic into this geek league, to make it more appealing to others, so when NFL season comes around, we can have a good solid group of guys. Zap 0 Posted April 12, 2006 Hi Diesel. Good to hear from you. It looks like all systems go. I'll probably start filling the league a little early this year, so no worries. If I go three out of four next year, I may have to give up this league and search for better competition though.
Diesel07 0 Posted April 14, 2006 find a better league? Well i think the reason this is not as competitive is because were not playing for anything. We need to make this a money league. This will filter out the stragglers (sp?) and get people who actually want to play. Last year was my first time ever playing in a 16 teamer and i won it all

Last year was my first time ever playing in a 16 teamer and i won it all Alright, we'll have a fees discussion soon. I should have that handled before filling the league. It could make a difference in someone returning or someone else wanting in. I keep the treasury for another league, and frankly, I don't enjoy it. I won't do some multi-layered pay out system with a half dozen prizes and weekly incentives. It drives me nuts. Something simple: 1) Money back for the top four teams qualifying for the championship bracket. 2) Bonus for total points leader. 3) The rest to the winner. So, a $25 entry would give us $300 bucks to play with. $100 would go back to the top four playoff teams (25 ea.) $50 to the points leader $150 to the Champ The champ could get $225 total, if he is also the points leader, $175 minimum for winning the league. This is a 100% payout that would require us to still use a free league hosting service (which is fine by me). I'd be willing to raise the stakes. I think less would be silly if the idea is to make people more interested.

Hell, I might be doing WCOFF this year, so that's still a free league as far as I'm concerned. lol but you know I'm in it to win it to the bitter end. was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Diesel07 0 Posted April 24, 2006 I like your scheme zap...i wouldnt mind paying more, say $50. It keeps people interested, up to date, and requires people to stay on top of things which in turn provides for a more fun & enjoyable league. Im a college student, and if i can afford $50, i dont see why anyone else cant. Look at it as $50 being spent over 16 weeks. It comes out to ~$3 a week...thats less than one value meal at McDonalds. Ill be the person responsible for holding the money & sending it out to the winners. Ill just keep it in a paypal account or just withdrawl it and keep it somewhere safe, just incase paypal freezes my acc. You can count on me. we can doa vote and see whos in favor of $25 or $
